Welcome To Footdee (Fittie) - A unique village in Aberdeen!

- Walk with me through this mid 19th Century village near Aberdeen harbour. It is one of the most unique communities in Scotland. it is like stepping back in time.
It is pronounced Fittie by the locals after St. Fittick, the patron Saint of gardeners.
The cottages all face inwards to protect them from fierce storms which rage in from the sea.
I'm an aberdonian now live in Cumbria. I live visiting Fitti when I go home visiting family 😊
It is a lovely village, I bet you miss Aberdeen? although Cumbria is beautiful also. 🙂
I`ve been to Aberdeen a few times and just walked by Footdee. Now, I am going back to Aberdeen in March. Maybe I should take a better look area. Looks interesting

That bright red roof at 1'21"'. I've slept under that roof! These sheds were all originally wash houses, but many of them have been altered, extended, and may serve as guest bedrooms.
I hope it brings back good memories for you? It's good to hear that you have actually stayed there.
I must admit I really enjoy a visit to this fantastic village, as I said it is very unique. I notice people have converted quite a few of these out houses into some very useful dwellings.

@@Brummie-In-The-Highlands In fact I've not moved too far and one my best Pals lives there but it's an excellent video. What I find particularly appealing about Footdee is it's practically car free, in fact I used to live there (a house, not a shed!) and the only traffic you'd was ships going into the harbour.
