    I over seeded my gross awful lawn last fall with annual ryegrass. It looks so amazing all winter, here in Atlanta area in Early march. Can I just put out a tall fescue grass now to start dealing with my lawn. And then over seed again with an annual ryegrass in the fall?

    • @PaulsPrimeCuts
      @PaulsPrimeCuts  Před 5 měsíci

      In the south ryegrass is temporary and in the next few weeks you will grow to hate annual ryegrass because of the growth habit it’s going to take on. Make an attempt to seed with fescue now …. By the end of the summer it won’t look so great and then seed with fescue again in the fall . Fescue and annual ryegrass will not mix together the color of the fescue is way darker also the ryegrass will start to poison its competition when it’s stressed so mixed lawn will look terrible

    Thinking about running a 10% blue grass mix this year with TTTF, thoughts?

    • @PaulsPrimeCuts
      @PaulsPrimeCuts  Před 2 lety

      Yeah 5 to 10% kbg Is great in the fescue to give you some improved color and self mending quality. The seed is much smaller than fescue so 5 or 10% is a lot of potential bluegrass plants

      Yards Done Right I’m sure it will Jim but if you want call me Friday and maybe we can see if TTPlus suits you needs or if we need to talk to the pure seed folks about something laser focused for your specific area 252-903-5069

      @PaulsPrimeCuts  Před 3 lety

      As you know I put some head to head with some MVS top verities they both do well ... the triple threat plus had slightly better color and a small edge in disease resistance ... I like the local backing the ability to see and know the pure seed verities were developed and selected in my area

    Ive had bad luck with Blue Grass in years past. Prone to disease and brown patch. It was continually dying out and I had to reseed every fall. Finally gave up and went with K31, but have had limited success with it. At this point I am unsure of what to use. With so many varieties out there, and Ive tried a few, with limited success, I really dont know what to try anymore.

      @@PaulsPrimeCuts It would do pretty good as my parents and uncle have had both in the past, with little problems other than keeping it from overgrowing sidewalks and driveways. But I have hesitated to use it because I have planting beds all around my home and it would be a chore to keep it out.
