- Miu Miu’s satin ballet flat trend and Loewe’s Minecraft fashion and pronounced Anthurium plant dresses. Bella Hadid walking the hourglass Courrèges show after the Coperni spray on dress, and Ella Emhoff’s most recent runway walk for Rochas. Rick Owens swapping out mega jumbo laces for mega jumbo tulle in the Egyptian City of Edfu, and my first ever Junya Watanabe show focused on 80’s beauty. This is the real, unseen part of Paris Fashion Week: no luxury fashion dupes here. I ran around in Tabi boots all day to bring you this coverage.

i think your reflection on rokh's use of the shakespeare poem perfectly encapsulates what sets your work apart from other fashion critics i've seen - the willingness to go one step further and investigate the specificity of the reference (it's not just *a* version of the venus and adonis myth, it's a conscious "dialogue" with established, canonized material) and how this influences the interpretation of said reference is truly inspiring. thank you for your work, bliss!
I’ve never understood things with some designers. You help understand without being fake and pretentious. Keep up the great work!
AYE MY BROTHER'S GONNA BE SO EXCITED TO WATCH THIS WHEN HE'S OFF OF WORK
First comment 🤔
@@BlissFoster notification gang ofc
@@BlissFoster haven't even watched the video yet cause I'm saving it for him
Man must be nice having someone that is as much into fashion as you
@@memelord3348 it is, he actually put me onto Bliss and fashion in general. Def try to get on the Patreon Discord! Discord servers are actually really great for fashion
I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU SAID ABOUT MIUMIU I LOVE THEM!! the embrace of girl hood almost reminds me of virgil with boyhood. ugh this collection was so good.
Babe wake up, new Bliss Foster dropped
I'm so happy to know that you both went to 44 shows. That's amazing and so well deserved! Can't wait to see this high quality content 😉 (ps. I'm the Kevin Germanier seat neighbor!)
Hey Agathe! Great to meet you! Keep crushing it on your podcast!
The connection between anrealage's monochromatic looks and Louis Nevelson is such next level analysis, you explain things so well omfg
The bamboo printed fabric (plus the construction of the dress.....) and the patchwork collection stood out for me. The bamboo for its elegance and the patchwork because it makes me think of family
That ROKH showing was sensational - would love to se more of a breakdown from you on that brand specifically in the near future. Great work as always Bliss 💪🏿
I’m so glad you covered Anrealage! I urge you to look more into the brand, the designs are incredibly interesting. They’ve done upside down runway shows, they’ve supersized clothes to where a blazer sleeve becomes a dress, they’ve made clothes that you can add a framework to and turn into an actual tent. Their work with tech fabrics is also amazing.
The boyarovskaya drum skin stuff was really cool and theoretically wouldn't be the most difficult thing to implement. I'd never really thought of a "futuristic" aesthetic lending itself to leather that way but I want to see that more of that now
I love the introduction as a FULL time fashion critique, well deserved man! Love what you are doing
Thanks for introducing me to the world of fashion Bliss. I truly appreciate the way you present it as a whole. thanks :) Edit: Just joined the Patreon!
Rokh and Ujoh looks fantastic!!! I was pretty bummed to see that Ujohs collections are not featured on vogues runway app.. only from 2016-2017 :-(
44 dude, you're crazy! The Junya show seemed heavily inspired by visual kei as well
5:01 Non-stick-figure models! I dig it!
15:22 I've never quilted, but I'm into a ton of arts and crafts and watch a lot of quilting videos, and it looks like dozens of hours of work went into each yard of that quilted fabric.
With the patch work comment: it reminds me of a maker called Pall Jackman who uses old pallet wood to make new planks by processing the wood and to glue it together. It could be interesting to use the technique to fabricate new patters in fabrics, but to use long strips of fabrics to form the same patterns that his planks does. I'm not a clothes maker (yet) but it could be interesting for others to try.
Love the Manas collection, so happy to see them embrace beach bodies of all types. It makes a statement to say that bodies like mine belong on the beach as well, that we are allowed to show off our skin. Really brings a smile to my face.
9:02 it's actually so cute
God I was having a mental breakdown but then this popped up. Thank you Bliss!!! I love your content always!!!💖💖💖✨✨✨
Damn if I had money i would be exclusively a miu miu girl 😭
Yay, I'm here early! Have you ever considered talking about how the concept of radical femininity/tenderness intersects with the fashion world? I'm specifically thinking about the 'girly-ness' of Miu Miu that you mentioned (especially regarding the SS22 collection) alongside other cultural phenomena like hyperpop aesthetics, for example. Is the playfulness/girly-ness of Miu Miu something integral to the brand and if so, is there something different about this current era? Sorry if that's a bit surface level (I'm quite new to fashion!) or if you've already made a video on the subject; thanks for another great video!
Started watching CZcams and I feel lucky to have found you. Smart , witty, and I’m just learning something-! Etc. I don’t know you but I feel so proud of you-….!
I used to travel a lot but last year and the year before that; rarely: and I bought four Rick Owens shoes-! Ek.
Anyways, thank you.
Overall, amazing video, and an incredible feat to go to that many shows! I can't stop thinking abt the Ujoh double breasted Grey dress with white blouse. Something completely utterly perfect about it.
Great video, this was really well edited to show your footage combined with the media team stuff. I also don't mean to nitpick but it would really help listening quality if the non-diegetic voice-over was set to mono channels, as there are several moments that lean heavily into right or left ear when wearing headphones. Thanks for such amazing content as always
I was wondering if you covered alexandre Vauthier. He’s on Paris’s haute couture syndicate yet I don’t see many fashion critics discuss him.
wow. right when i felt like i was set on my wardrobe for the next few years loewe comes along and drops the Minecraft clothing
OK, so if I watch ALL of your posts, do I get a GRAD CERT or something, lol! Great content, keep it up!
Another Top Tier Fashion week recap, no surprise coming from Bliss
Seriously had no expectations of leaving this vid being a new Miu Miu fan but here we are
Mitsuro by far my Fav
Brilliant run down of shows - saw loads I liked. Your coverage was epic!
Love the video ! Thanks for a great job. It's a pleasure also seeing you progressing and growing as well
You give so much insight in such a short time and it's both meaningful and interesting 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 great coverage Bliss!
1000x merci . I love your point of view about creation and designers 🙏
LOVE this {& Love that you're the one covering it}!
This is fabulous! So happy to find you. So fun!
Excellent analysis & detail. U really do bring us along with you to the shows
So thoughtful as always.
Loved the commentary about Rochas. I’m also to see what’s coming in the next seasons.
Thanks for increasing my awareness of brands I was unaware of.
🙌🙌🙌
Ottolinger was definitely my favorite in terms of clothing but presentation would have to go to Courreges. Something about that hour glass concept with the sand really intrigued me. Thank you for the insight Bliss ✊🏾💙
Thank you for this coverage! It's always interesting to have your vision on some big brands runways and also discover smaller brands and creators!
Love your insight on all the shows. Well deserved and exciting!
Wonderful analysis and in depth reporting. Epic. Thank you 🙌
we love u bliss!!!
Thank you Bliss
Such a good video!!
The use of selvage was first done by Munn Seoul
Wow awesome! I’ve never heard of them! What year?

I like you so much! ☺
You introduced me to this world of design, that was so secretive, so much guarded by the masters, but you were like an angel 👼🏻, guarding the gates, you reached with your hand and put me on your shoulders, so I could see this heavenly glory. You are a blessing, Bliss. Thank you 💌
Epiccccccc video as per
I thought the balloons kinda looked like flowers
Mary Quant popularized mini skirts
Do you / does anyone here know Orange Culture? Absolutely LOVE them💃🏻
I have so much to learn...
Amazing coverage! The Anrealage patchwork is unbelievably beautiful. The size and scale of the individual lives makes it feel like a mosaic more than random scraps.
Just a note- the voice commentary stereo panning is really weird on this video. Makes it hard to listen to on stereo headphones when Bliss’s voice is in one ear only.
Anrealage is the future!
fire
woot woot
Anyone know how much it might cost for a fashion show for a new brand on a budget and what will be needed?
Loewe Minecraft pants
2:47 fka twigs? so that's what she's doing when she's not making music or practicing some type of dance lol

Re: Loewe, pretty forced connection between the motifs on JW's part, anthurium balloons and pixels, too unfocused for me. Aesthetically I find the balloon shoes boring and cheeky without substance (not to mention ugly), and the pixel pieces probably 10 years too late so they come off pretty cringe. I like listening to interviews with Anderson, and I appreciate just how "editorial" he goes with these RTW collections, but its so hit or miss for me, more often a miss. Re: Kurogouchi, I believe most designers design with ma in mind, but as you said we just don't have a word for it. Similar to wabi sabi, I believe these are terms that linguistically don't exist in the "west" but are still present, though not as formalized. This concept is most present imo in the sleeves of the sweaters shown which illustrate the empty space between the garment and the body. Otherwise I think the emphasis on ma in her work can be othering. Looking forward to what you think about the RO collection.
Your skin isn't paper, don't cut it
Your neck isn't a coat, don't hang it
Your body isn't a book, don't judge it
Your life isn't a movie, don't end it
Your heart isn't a door, don't lock it
Remember to always love yourself no matter what you come against
(This is not my word, I'm spreading it to the 1% and now its your turn)
I do love you Bliss but please stop calling yourself a fashion critic if you won't actually critique anything, it's insulting to the few we have (Robin Givhan, Cathy Horyn). You're a fashion influencer and/or historian. I'm sure fashion critic sounds better, but it's not who you are or what you do.
Now THIS is what I want to see/hear about fashion. 🥹❤
