    Great information. I do use Google earth in conjunction with OnX. But you have open my eye to a few things that I didn't look for in the past. Thank you for sharing.

    thanks, i'm a hiker/backpacker and will be looking for these areas as I bushwhack. I know some but they are super steep and we have hiked on it 45 degree slope with massive tangled mess of blowdowns you have to spider crawl over. and don't think those would be perceived as useful to deer. some flatter or less sloping ground would probably be optimal, right?

    Google earth is behind about 4 years where I live. It shows wooded areas as healthy that burnt to nothing a few years ago.

      Try Sentinel Hub. It’s an excellent tool for aerial maps. They might have some updated maps in your area.

    google earth doesn't look like that on my end. Is that a paid version?
