5:16 I appreciate Jesse including these bits where he's dunking on a shorter guy than himself because at 5'6" I imagine that opportunity doesn't come along very often.
Whatever happened to solidarity among short kings?
Nick is king : - )@@AtillaTheSean
@@AtillaTheSean Fr. Why we height shaming bros?
@@Scroolewse 5'6 is literally the average male height, half of guys are shorter :p
@emikochan13 maybe in the land of the Oompa-Loompas
11:16 What an absolutely outstanding non-sequitur lmao
Man, it is fascinating to see just how much Yahtzee has changed over the years: I mean he's still the wisecracking joking snarkster we all know and love who's not afraid to be blunt about his opinion on something, but he definitely sounds happier and more genuine now.😄💖
Still his cynical self, but much less sardonic!
It's either the kids, or the small dog.
@@lizzykayOT7or Both
As a kindergarden teacher I can tell you: It's definitely the dog. Small children can be wonderful, but they have never made anyone more relaxed or less sarcastic XD
Thanks for playing some Frogmonster! If anyone is curious the game has over 20 bosses and people are loving it!
Omg! It’s @frogmonsterdev !
Taken any consideration to Yahtzee's suggestion of voicing the guns? :P
@@LemonGrinder Lol I think that'd be pretty funny. Maybe a lil distracting
frogmonsterdev my beloved
The game looks very fun! I'll be picking it up sometime in the near future! :)
Fun fact: A Game About Climbing was made in a year by one person. He made a video on its development under the name Pontypants.
@@mennymoto it's meant to be fun, not funny
I honestly always pictured Yahtzee as a power bottom.
Rent free
Picturing it rn
That’s really weird that your fantasising and projecting onto a person who very clearly has stated throughout his career is a private person and the person you see on the internet is not Yhatzee Crowshaw
Oh, no, he's absolutely not active enough to be a power bottom. Dom bottom, but not power bottom.
@@GayBearBro2you know commenting on another persons sexual preferences and style without their consent is kinda creepy, especially when your projecting onto someone who clearly is heterosexual, imagine if the roles were reversed would you be appreciative of these unwarranted comments?
So many people never realize that comedy is a god damn science in itself. So many things that make a joke funny, and if u miss even one of them u risk ruining the joke. And afterall that, the audience tastes vary anyway, meaning they may nit like it anyway
Its difficult to explain why something is funny, or why it isn't. Just look at Gen Z humor, seemingly random but huge on the context of the day that you'll look insane to someone without it.
Pepper Grinder is what you get when somebody plays Ori and the Will of the Wisps, uses the Burrow ability and decides "Man, that was pretty fun. What if a whole game, but just that?"
or steamworld dig without the world building
both will of the wisps and pepper grinder were first announced in 2017
While it's true that ADGAK could be classified as "a straight rip-off of Getting Over It With Bennet Foddy", the Steam store page does explicitly state that the creator hoped that GOIWBF would prompt the birth of a new genre of super-challenging philosophical/contemplative puzzle games like it, and when that didn't end up happening they decided to just do it themselves. So it's intentionally a rip-off of GOIWBF made by someone who really wanted more rip-offs of GOIWBF.
Frog monster is interesting simply because it's a first person game with a left handed character!
"I actually kind of liked High on Life" - Yahtzee
I did a double take on that one.
As i said on his ZP of it, he always was a contrarian.
It's pretty hilarious because it's exactly the *kind* of humor that he usually hates the most, just apparently done in a way he did.
the noise compilation is comedy gold lol
Pepper Grinder and Frog Monster look good to me.
Nick's smile in that picture is so precious.
Pepper Grinder looks like someone made an entire game out of the yellow drill Wisp from Sonic Colors/Lost World
5:56 who doesn't love funny Yahtzee noises.
Ahh, the disturbingly lengthy body disposal discussion of that Bears In Space stream!
Nice to see these edits back! I always watch the whole stream / VoDs, but its nice to see the highlights again, and with some bonus amusing edits, like that blue nick monster thing!
I sing 'Bears In Space'! to the tune of 'Girls On Film'! by Duran Duran. I am old. 🤣
Honestly I like this videos series. Its fun to see new and inspired games getting attention. Also... hard to explain but this videos are a type of non toxic gaming culture I really enjoy and wanna see more.
More edited ones like this please. Thanks
5:43 Why does everyone always assume Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy has janky controls (or that if it didn't, it would've been fine if it did). It has difficult obstacles that require incredible precision using non-standard controls but they're incredibly polished and elegant. It's precisely because those controls seem broken that the game works, but if they were actually broken the game wouldn't be regarded so highly today.
It's like Octodad: the controls are weird as hell, but once you get good at them, they become second nature. I feel like I could take Octodad through a kaizo level now.
Because they are janky and awkward to use. Noone is “assuming” it, you’re hearing the opinions of people who have experienced it so that isn’t an apt word. Its getting used to the janky controls that is the challenge
@@subpar157 You seem to misunderstand. "Janky" is an assessment of quality, not a descriptor. It means "of poor quality and/or unresponsive".
Yahtzee described the grab physics as inconsistent in "A difficult game about climbing", and said that wasn't expected of games in the genre. If I remember correctly Yahtzee has never played Getting Over It, and even if he did he likely hasn't finished it.
The challenge isn't to get used to a janky control scheme, but to learn a new highly polished one under immense pressure.
The best thing about Yahtzees comedy for me is that he will never opt to not make a joke on stream, no matter how bad or embarassing it is. I think we can learn a lot from him
These videos are so nice
Glad Yahtzee told us all those sounds were him and not the dog eating the hypothetical burglar.
Side-note: Where's the solo vid for the Yahtzee Tries theme? Fully Ramblomatic and Semi-Ramblomatic has it.
This theme is just royalty-free. We didn't create a theme for every show.
@@SecondWindGroup
Aww, that's too bad. But understandable.
Then may I ask the name? It does sound badass.
@@jocosesonata Will ask tomorrow!

Thanks, appreciate it!
"I wonder if there are any games about ketchup..."
At least two, a cursory google shows me.
Saved me buying Bears in Space so thanks for that.
i dont know if it would count as his idea of (stright comedy) but he may also like the game JUSTICE SUCKS: Tactical Vacuum Action regardless you guys may like it, after playing the original smaller version of the game which was short but weird silly fun, i can recomend it for lovers of home alone traps, vacuum based murder and adorable robots.
is this the first one of these? if so, please make more! I really wanted to watch the streams for these but unfortunately do not have the time, and love discovering these little games and getting Yahtzee's perspective on them
"1st person Souls-like dungeon crawler." So a King's-field-like.
I don't know why but a frog monster Yahtzee does make sense
I really enjoyed the quips at the end as the backer and credits roll, I think that is fun for Yahtzee Tries.
Did anyone else notice Yahtzee sounds like a minion when frustrated 🤣
So while I can get Yahtzee's criticism about ADGAC, there's a more in depth 3d version called Peaks of Yore that I think Yahtzee would love as he gets into his dad game era.
Thanks for the review! I was actually looking at these games recently!
That aside, Yahtzee seems to have put a lot of thought in how he would hide a body...
11:28 - the bisexual lighting got to Yahtzee
Maybe Nick was the guy in Yahtzee's dream, hehehehehe😁😏
Jesse's headrest makes hit headphones look huuuuge
Yahtzee should play Harold Halibut when it comes out, its got a unique stop-motion style that I think he might like, havent seen it before in videogames (at least not much anyway)
Pepper grinder just feels like drill dozer (GBA)
Yahtzee is the bay harbor butcher confirmed
When I saw the name "Maxwell Atoms" pop up during the Bears in Space segment, I was honestly wondering if this game was made by the creator of Billy and Mandy
You should play Peaks of Yore'!
I think it is worth keeping in mind that Pontypants (the dev of a difficult game about climbing) created every asset except the character model on his own, so Yahtzee's claims that it's a cheap asset flip are just wrong.
He didn't say it was an asset flip. He said it gave the impression of being thrown together quickly.
Actually, eating other frogs is a frog thing, not a monster thing. They do it all the time.
Hooray it's back
Congratulations 😂😂😅
Nice to see you guys!👋
"I am a spectacled frog, sitting on a spectacled log..." Did... did Yahtzee just remind me of Barney the Purple Dinosaur?🤯😅😆😂
SPECKLED.
"I can’t eat you, so I will destroy you!"
Isn’t that just life?
Oh, I disagree on Pepper Grinder. The mechanics get updated with each passing area, including a grappling hook, a gun, aerial digging, a sled, etc. If anything, it's the lack of use for the collectibles that gets me. Once you get 10 per area (which isn't hard), you don't really need to collect more. That, and the fact that the game's a bit short - but even then, I think the game maximizes its gameplay to the fullest over the course of 4 areas.
You're feeding my boyfriend's crush on you Yahtzee~
Leet video time! Keep at it Yahtzee.
Pepper Grinder reminded me a lot of Drill Dozer, which suggests to me that Yahtzee never played that one back in the day.
How, just because it has a drill? They play so differently.
@@Peter-jn9rb TBH I was thinking the same thing as "Drill Dozer" despite never playing it. But you can't blame the name is conjured from the gameplay. You have a drill, and you doze.
Crunchy ground...
Heck yeah
Pepper Grinder looks hella fun.
I tried bears in space and I really liked it but after 5 hours I was like ok I’ve seen enough 😭💀
I thought for sure this series was dead
I love pepper grinder, I’m glad Yahtz can endure it too!
So are we going to gloss over Yahtzee is basically a Nigel thornberry noise box when gaming?
That's not cyan, that's turquoise!
Yathzee dreams about being top but will always remain bottom
3:00 - I may be old, but doesn't this seem like an FPS Ratchet And Clank?
8:00 - Frosty!
That's why I recommended it haha. The beginning of the game is rough. The demo they put out was way better.
I rate this video "nye nye nyah! nye nnnnnye wah!"/10
Nice
There's another climbing game called Yolked where you're an egg with arms if you don't like the dangly legs for some reason.
❤
Wonder if that video length is intentional?
What does it mean
It almost have ro be.
@@MILOPETIT13:37 leet
I haven't heard someone use the terms 1337 or leet in many years.
@@umlautabuser2769 Oh I thought it was one of those neo nazi secret codes
Wouldn't it be easier to get rid of the drugs instead of the burglar, if you live in a stand-your-ground state?
I will say that im surprised there hasnt been more qwop like games after getting over it. But i do miss the amusing narration from Foddy in a difficult game about climbing.
I'm genuinely not surprised. Games that are intentionally frustrating are very niche. The only reason Getting Over It gets so much love is that it makes for 'good' content watching Funny Streamer Man yell angrily after falling down the hole for the 13th time and then hearing Foddy tell them calmly to try again.
check ADGAC steam description, you'll see a man who didn't understand GOI and wanted to make a "Foddian Game"
Truth is, we don't need "Foddian Games", we have Bennett Foddy games and other people's games, and that's fine.
The biggest problem with ADGAC is that it is actually fun to play, but by dressing it up on GOI's clothes, it loses all its charm.
Question: was Yahtzee tries on hiatus for a bit or is it going to be a more sporadic series that will not cover every stream? Or maybe I just missed some episodes and I can't find them, sorry if that's the case...
today I learned I can probably eat most of the SW staff (5'11 represent)
I love these condensed versions of the streams. The streams are still entertaining, but these are more specifically tied to the game.
It's like putting ESPN on as background noise vs watching Sportscenter. I'll watch the game, but gimme the highlights too.
I hope the content doesn't go the Angry Joe route and make the reviews just a semi edited recording of a live gameplay and commentary. If it does, oh well.😂
Holy shit being this early is rare.
Pepper Grinder and Venture from Overwat h coming out at the same time really makes one wonder what happened to inspire both teams at such similar times
HOLY SHIT BISEXUAL YAHTZEE????????????
REAL??????????
The mechanic in Pepper Grinder is entirely taken from the sand section of Or I and the Will of The Wisps. Which is an awesome game that you should totally play.
Look playing games for just games sake is how it should be DONE! Also thanks for no AAA or AAAA games!
cool I guess
Nick, please, use the oxford comma. "Pepper Grinder and Frogmonster" isn't a game.

This comment is to help this channel in the algorithm.
For the climbing game, I think it's a bit of a disservice to the game to review it based only on what is basically the tutorial area, since the level design is quite clever and delightful on the whole. It's like if that one infamous Cuphead reviewer reviewed it based on the tutorial they couldn't beat. But I understand you have limited time with these games.
didn't bennet foddy make a game that was exactly this in his qwop days?
Yeah I don't know why GIRP doesn't come up more in these discussions
My main takeaway from this video is that Nick is short. Good to know!
ADGAC is an interesting case, because it wasn't made to go viral. The motivation for making it was the fact the creator was sick of waiting for other games to capture what's great about GOI instead of just making unfair, imprecise games with a big pile of stuff without a reason for any of it. GOI is his favorite game, so he simply wanted to make another one like it to scratch his own itch. He came at it from a place of genuine love and respect instead of a "hard game equals money" mindset. He covered the development on his channel, Pontypants.
I highly recommend bears in space if you can't stand rick and morty humor of high on life
Yahtzee: I dreamt I was in a relationship with a man last night.
Me: Was his name Gave?
I hear people are saying gun ugly is the thinking mans bears in space
(no one is saying this)
Quake: Bum Edition.
2024 really seems to be the year of the indie frog games. Why frogs? Why now?
Quite a few frog games came out last year too! I only know as I love frogs and have my finger on the pulse of indie games featuring them. Frogsong, Frog's Adventure, and Froggy's Battle come to mind as especially great ones. Not to mention Frogun but that was 2022 (but is also amazing!). An upcoming one to watch out for is Mudborne (creature collector sim, not Bloodborne with frogs, I should clarify).
As for an answer to your question: frogs are awesome! 🐸
A Difficult Game About Climbing isnt a rip off off of Getting Over It by Ben Foddy. It's a rip off of GIRP by Ben Foddy.
Oh boy, Motherload was fun
"I actually kind of liked High on Life"
yknow that is a game that I feel got a bad rep in part because of the timing of its release vs the fall from grace of Justin Roiland- I feel like there were people that it didn't land for in the first place but then not even a year later all the shadiness broke and suddenly everyone's retconning that it was a terrible game that sucked.
A difficult game about climbing is technically a 10/10 perfect game.
It's a cheaply, quickly made game designed for streamers to generate content via their reactions. It does exactly that job.
This climbing game just looks like a lazy ripoff of "Mount your friends", and the drill game reminds me pretty heavily of Drill Dozer, although that wasn't as much about traversal.
Can’t believe Yatzhee is such an amateur at body disposal. Everyone knows you just find the nearest pig farm and feed it to the pigs 🙄
