Optimus could definitely be improved by having the front wheels go into the body like MP1 or Siege Prime, and have the torso nit so disproportionately short with the small abs and giant chest. A better, longer Trailer, roller, axe, and a fold up matrix cover would be great to see. F they could have the legs not rotate around for transformation, that would be much better, and remove the flaps on the sides
We're not getting an SS86 Soundwave. We're getting a Legacy: United Soundwave (a confirmed Earthrise redeco with cassettes). SS86 is just a continuation of WFC/Legacy. Prowl, Blaster, Starscream, and Cliffjumper have all been tweaked versions of the WFC/Legacy figures. Only figures that needed drastic changes for accuracy (Optimus, Megatron, Ultra Magnus) were given substantial redos.
What I’m almost sure will happen with Windcharger is they’ll release a new deluxe version of him in whatever the Legacy follow up is and then they’ll give us a dead repaint for SS86

Someone asked this question about the figures that were going to be release in studio series 86 and this was the answer: Quite a few of those are unlikely to ever get a Studio Series release. The last time they were asked, they admitted that it was NOT going to be "every" character - mostly just ones with impactful scenes or who had leading roles. Thus, you get the dying shuttle crew (pivotal scene), but you're not likely to ever get a wheeljack, Sunstreaker, Hound, etc. Since they dont actually do anything. Same with the Seekers that aren't Starscream (theyre in the Shuttle scene.. mostly in the background,a nd hell, the Coneheads had to be added when the movie was almost finished since they didnt even exist when it started production). And its highly unlikely theyre going to re-release the Insecticons any time soon, they literally just came out. Same with Blitzwing. In a few more years you might see Astrotrain (once the WFC fig has been off the market for long enough) and it may or may not be a new fig (wouldnt hold your breath), and Cyclonus (which will almost assuredly NOT be a new fig, Kingdom Cyclonus is about as dead-on as can be for a mainline-priced figure). Soundwave might get a re-release like Blaster (in fact the leaked Soundwave for this year may be a SS fig, its not clear) but id doubt it would be a new mold. Just the netflix mold with a new deco. Shockwave, if he gets a SS86 release, will almost assuredly be a PR of the existing mold. Steeljaw is coming this year in Wave 3. The Buzzworthy Cliffjumper IS SS86 (its labeled right on the box) as is the Kup re-release. And the Ironhide/Prowl 2 pack was labelled as Studio Series. The fact that it was Buzzworthy just means it was exclusive to Target, BBB was not its own sub-line, and released figs across all the lines. (Origins Jazz was labeled Legacy, etc). The big releases they need to nail for SS86 are Megs, Galvatron (really needs to be an upgraded retool of the existing Kingdom/Legacy mold or a new mold to justify existing), Rodimus Prime, Bumblebee, Optimus, and Devastator/Constructicons. The issue with Studio Series '86. . . is it's forever locked-in to figures that appeared in the '86 Movie. They can only be improved upon and remoulded so many times! Why not have a line called "Studio Series '84", which takes the very first year of Generation 1 figures from the Cartoon and Marvel Comic (That haven't already been SS '86'ed!), and makes them the best they can be without being Masterpiece figures? This could then be rolled over into "Studio Series '85" and possibly further.
Studio series is a line for the movies, which is why is specifically the 86 movie. That being said I will not be shocked if the new "concept" line bleeds into 86 and we see characters planned for the film and dropped, like Inferno Gears Red Alert etc.

I could see them doing a Kranix figure. Way back when they were doing character profiles during the 80s Marvel comics, there was a sketch of him in an alt mode that I don;t think they used in the movie. He also had a similar looking friend that got eaten by Unicron in the first scene of the movie who could easily be a repaint of Kranix.

I think that they should do one Red Alert, if I'm correct I believe that he did appeared in the movie very quick in one of the attack scenes on the Autobot city in the movie, you don't really see him very well. I really hoping they gonna do over of Bumblebee. I have the Origins version and i really love it, but i would love to have him as Volkswagen. Sound waves going to be a commander class from what I heard that way he can come with cassettes. And as much as I want to see a studio series 86 Megatron that turns into a Walther P38 Uncle I don't think we're going to see it
After the release of the activate Starscream, I really wish they would improve the seekers mold. Especially after just recently watching some of the old G1 episodes and seeing how they actually transform with the front part tucking in, there's no excuse for this with today's modern engineering. I hate the way the front of the jet mode just hangs on their back in robot mode.
@therussianwanderer4851 I actually just got this transformer. It's not bad, but I'm not a fan of the hollow for the underside of the front of jet mode. Unless you just mean how it works and not how the whole mould itself. I like the seeker mould overall, but they could surely just modify the existing mould to make it more accurate.
Here I am still wanting SS Snarl. Sludge I can't escape at every store. And hey, maybe Windcharger and Wheeljack were just in a stasis shutdown from being badly damage :P I always felt Unicron should be worked into somehow being a build-a-figure from each of the Commander/ Leader classes. IDK how to make a transformer BAF on that scale work. That's a Hasbro issue, not a me issue.
How long ago did the Haslab Unicron release, 4 years ago? I say for the 40th anniversary of the movie (in a couple years) Hasbro should put up a vote on Pulse for the backers of the project if they would allow a limited Pulse exclusive run of Unicron. I fear though that the price might be hiked by a hundred bucks.
I don’t remember if this rumor was true or not, but I thought hasbro was going to release everyone from g1 into studio series to keep that line going. I wouldn’t mind it because if they can do concept idea of toys for bumblebee movie , they can definitely just extend the line for studio series 86..there has been so many characters in G1 that they can say he was a dot in the background and we will buy it lol

Quintesson Executioner is well overdue! I'd prefer a Deluxe class of him but would accept a Core class if done right. And as an epic game surprise they should make a Leader class Quintesson Squid monster (the one who attacked Kup) with a cool Bot mode.
I honestly disagree with them not doing another Unicron figure, eventually they’ll need to do some kind of release for trademark reasons and there’s enough demand for him that I could see them doing one… Given the leaks of the next generations trilogy being based on the primes I’d be surprised if we don’t get a version of Unicron and Primus as two of the three titans (maybe Leige Maximo’s G2 look could be the third)
I'm hoping the SS 86 Rodimus has screen/toon accurate paint. The SS Hotrod didn't have a white face, it had the G1 toy grey plastic. If its called Studio Series Hasblow should be making them screen accurate.

Optimus commander class should be Optimus in his Powermaster bot mode where he combines with his trailer to become much bigger and stronger Prime, which he did in the later copies of the UK Transformers comic! And he should come with a smaller figure that becomes his engine to help power him up! I think his nebulan partner was IQ? ...It wad Grimlock who came with Wheelie and Slug - (Slag) actually came with Daniel. I have the Quintessons Jydge and 2 Alicons. What about Kranix's friend?

I need a studio series 86 devastator in my life. And as for Megatron, maybe what they could do is simply make him a gun mode, but also make him a Takara exclusive. Why should Japanese transformers fans suffer just because of American laws regarding toy guns? I guarantee you that if they just make Megatron tank that is going to be the biggest peg warmer. And I practically can guarantee that if they do make 86 Megatron into a gun, it will sell so well. It will be a nightmare. Keep on the shelves which hasbro really needs right now.
The best Optimus Prime toy to base a SS86 Commander Class off of would be a retool of Reactivate Optimus Prime he's a big enough that he scales better with the likes of the Dinobots and I would say it's the best Optimus Prime they made in 2023, it might even the best Voyager Optimus Prime they've ever released.
What about Cliffjumper or Arcee ? Granted, we have had many Arcees recently but I don't recall seeing one in Studio Series 86. And everyone seem to forget that Cliffjumper survived right alongside Jazz in the movie. 😁

Hasbro is putting me in redeco hell. Im tired of redecos because it’s looking like a cash grab. While SS Blaster is far superior to Kingdom Blaster I don’t want two. They should have did a cybertronian mode. It would have made sense but they need to get it right the first. I have 5 Quintesson Judges and they are awful because they don’t come completely “assembled”. You have to attack a couple faces and it’s not easy at all.

My father took me to get a Transformers figure in 1986 told me to pick and I chose Megatron. Megatron is my favorite Transformers character but they ruined him. Bumblebee could definitely be improved. Having the chest not be upside down, the back not being a separate shield, and maybe better legs

Legacy united will be releasing the netflix soundwave with three tapes. It will be a leader class.
After the release of the activate Starscream, I really wish they would improve the seekers mold. Especially after just recently watching some of the old G1 episodes and seeing how they actually transform with the front part tucking in, there's no excuse for this with today's modern engineering. I hate the way the front of the jet mode just hangs on their back in robot mode.
Legacy Jhiaxus can pull this off.
@therussianwanderer4851 I actually just got this transformer. It's not bad, but I'm not a fan of the hollow for the underside of the front of jet mode. Unless you just mean how it works and not how the whole mould itself. I like the seeker mould overall, but they could surely just modify the existing mould to make it more accurate.

They'll probably include a small gun mode Megatron as an accessory that other characters can hold. That way they can say they did his movie alt mode.

I always felt Unicron should be worked into somehow being a build-a-figure from each of the Commander/ Leader classes. IDK how to make a transformer BAF on that scale work. That's a Hasbro issue, not a me issue.
How long ago did the Haslab Unicron release, 4 years ago? I say for the 40th anniversary of the movie (in a couple years) Hasbro should put up a vote on Pulse for the backers of the project if they would allow a limited Pulse exclusive run of Unicron. I fear though that the price might be hiked by a hundred bucks.

I don’t remember if this rumor was true or not, but I thought hasbro was going to release everyone from g1 into studio series to keep that line going. I wouldn’t mind it because if they can do concept idea of toys for bumblebee movie , they can definitely just extend the line for studio series 86..there has been so many characters in G1 that they can say he was a dot in the background and we will buy it lol

The only ‘concept’ SS86 figures/characters I can see hasbro releasing would be Sideswipe, Tracks, Red Alert, Inferno, Trailbreaker, Smokescreen, Mirage and Gears so I don’t see why not to have those released under the SS86 line

Arby's and Kranix had alt modenin the old marvel comics profile books. If we do get them, I could see the design team taking a whack at those.

Kingdom Rodimus Was great, but the head was winky and the arm transformation was weird

Quintesson Executioner is well overdue! I'd prefer a Deluxe class of him but would accept a Core class if done right. And as an epic game surprise they should make a Leader class Quintesson Squid monster (the one who attacked Kup) with a cool Bot mode.

I honestly disagree with them not doing another Unicron figure, eventually they’ll need to do some kind of release for trademark reasons and there’s enough demand for him that I could see them doing one…
Given the leaks of the next generations trilogy being based on the primes I’d be surprised if we don’t get a version of Unicron and Primus as two of the three titans (maybe Leige Maximo’s G2 look could be the third)

I'm hoping the SS 86 Rodimus has screen/toon accurate paint. The SS Hotrod didn't have a white face, it had the G1 toy grey plastic. If its called Studio Series Hasblow should be making them screen accurate.
If we want the 86 megs to be a p-38,, we as a whole need to boycott and dont by a single tank.....theyll come back with the p38. But if we breakdown and buy the tanks theyll keep givinv us a tank

Optimus commander class should be Optimus in his Powermaster bot mode where he combines with his trailer to become much bigger and stronger Prime, which he did in the later copies of the UK Transformers comic! And he should come with a smaller figure that becomes his engine to help power him up! I think his nebulan partner was IQ? ...It wad Grimlock who came with Wheelie and Slug - (Slag) actually came with Daniel. I have the Quintessons Jydge and 2 Alicons. What about Kranix's friend?

I need a studio series 86 devastator in my life. And as for Megatron, maybe what they could do is simply make him a gun mode, but also make him a Takara exclusive. Why should Japanese transformers fans suffer just because of American laws regarding toy guns? I guarantee you that if they just make Megatron tank that is going to be the biggest peg warmer. And I practically can guarantee that if they do make 86 Megatron into a gun, it will sell so well. It will be a nightmare. Keep on the shelves which hasbro really needs right now.

The best Optimus Prime toy to base a SS86 Commander Class off of would be a retool of Reactivate Optimus Prime he's a big enough that he scales better with the likes of the Dinobots and I would say it's the best Optimus Prime they made in 2023, it might even the best Voyager Optimus Prime they've ever released.
What about Cliffjumper or Arcee ? Granted, we have had many Arcees recently but I don't recall seeing one in Studio Series 86. And everyone seem to forget that Cliffjumper survived right alongside Jazz in the movie. 😁

Hasbro is putting me in redeco hell. Im tired of redecos because it’s looking like a cash grab. While SS Blaster is far superior to Kingdom Blaster I don’t want two. They should have did a cybertronian mode. It would have made sense but they need to get it right the first. I have 5 Quintesson Judges and they are awful because they don’t come completely “assembled”. You have to attack a couple faces and it’s not easy at all.

I'll pass on Megatron if he's a stupid tank again. They can give us Megatron in his gun mode if hasbro makes guns for kids to play with in their Star Wars line they can give us Megatron in his original and best alt mode. I wish it was 1986 again. My father took me to get a Transformers figure in 1986 told me to pick and I chose Megatron. Megatron is my favorite Transformers character but they ruined him. I understand if they really can't but they can if they really want to. ..make his entire barrel orange just please give us a proper Megatron.
