- Time to drive this 8x8 Monster! This is the Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT) M983 from HG Models. And it's the biggest RC Military Truck i've ever seen!

This thing was awesome, I'd say it's the best 8x8 RTR out there! wonder how this compares to a CrossRC or RC4WD 8x8?....Maybe I should buy one to find out!

I dry and it all off and then spray WD40 on all the metal parts. Sometimes water will get in, but that's just how it goes.

Wow that is a Beast Phil 😱 that is one steep hill, it was like the hill of hamburger hill the film, think the sound kit was fine mate , the servo sounds abit high pitched but that might be because it's carrying 10 lb in weight 😱 fantastic maiden Run and a magnificent video 👍😎👍
Cheers Tony...it was very steep! I struggle to get my old legs up there haha. It has dual steering servos and cable linkage for steering, so pretty heavy and loud! Maybe a little grease will help. 👍

Mate....I was not sure who was going to fall first...me or the truck! The place is called 'Hubbards Hill' in Lincolnshire.....so many nice spots, and shallow water. Certainly be going back!

I got a sound system for mine from Greens models, it sounds excellent far better than the stock one.
I saw them on Greens. I have an ESS One that I want to try, that has a really nice Heavy Diesel sound you can download. 👍

Hello. How does it fare against the Mammoth of Cross Rc US in terms of build and performance? Price wise, you can get the HG P801/802 half the price of the Mammoth.
I'd love to get a Mammoth to compare, I have no CrossRC's at the moment, but will certainly be looking at getting one or 2 this year 👍

Yeah, the start up is awesome.....just a it to cheap sounding normal running. I have an ESS One Dual sound unit, meant to be really good!

Some slightly more aggressive mud tires would make it even more unstoppable offroad. Are they standard 1.9 or 2.2 inch rims?

Phil, I have just received the P803a with tipper and lights and sound already factory fitted, but the headlights only come on when the truck is rolling forwards, how did you get yours to be on all the time ?? and how did you disable the indicator and reverse sounds as they are Darn awful on mine.?
On the control board there are 2 empty spaces, I think in the instructions it says 'fog lights'... I plugged the headlights in to there. As for the indicators, just unplug them. Not sure on the reverse though lol

hi mate, am waiting for mine to turn up.. a week away though. Can you tell me if the one you had, had got spools on the back axles? seems some have, some haven't. Also, how would you think it would climb with some really chunky tyres on it? cheers.
What do you mean by 'Spools'? As for climbing, get the diffs locked and it will probably climb most stuff!

How do you like your truk after recieving it?
@@danielm978 First impression is wow, and then I started noticing stuff that I needed to change. The materials quality is excellent, the drivability is good. The build quality is mixed - some stuff done up way too tight on the suspension, some stuff too loose. Simple things to put right, front springs too soft, rear springs too hard. Suspension travel is limited by this, and the bushings in the link to the tops of the diffs. Tyre foams too hard. I have altered all of these, which wasn't too difficult, and I like the truck even more. For me it is a "project" truck that was never going to be left standard. So yeah, I like it a *lot*. You could leave it standard and have a great truck, or make it your own with some modifications. I'm going to be doing a video of mine off-road soon. From what I've seen the stuff I've done will make it better than factory, for not much money.

Thats cool. But theres a limit on angle for crawling bcoz of the cabin.
It is limited, but far less than some other models, it's angled with the metal plate to allow you to push past some of the restriction... good fun all the same 👍
i got one but im asking can i run on 3 s with stock electronic becouse esc i think is suporting only 2s
I'm not sure, I think some people may have tried 3s and it works ok... but I have not tried

I have been looking at buying one of these HEMTT’s, is it worth the cost? And I find it sad that the engine sounds like trash and not like the 8v92ta 😢 my fire department has an 8v92ta and 6v92ta and I took the mufflers off 😚 ooooooooo they sound good!!!!! And that Jake Braaaaaaaaaaah!!!! I love it

Yes, but very stiff (nice amount of grease)....so it had no issues with a single wheel loosing traction 👍

Your sound unit is terrible.....all of the videos that I have watched, the sound units have a completely different engine sound then yours.....I would ask for a replacement sound box
