- When you find an orphan squirrel that is lost (but uninjured), put your phone near the baby and play this video on speaker as loudly as possible to see if the mom will come for her baby. It often works -- and often works very quickly. Stand back, and watch nature take over. If this doesn't work, go to ahnow.org to find a wildlife rehabber in your area who can help you save the baby.
Used this today and it worked! Baby fell from tree, mother was frantic, but couldn’t find it. I had placed her on a towel, but mom wasn’t finding her. So I took my Bluetooth speaker and placed it next to baby. Within 5 minutes, mom had scurried down the tree, grabbed baby by the neck, and up the tree they went.

Used this TODAY and it worked instantly! 3 babies fell with the nest during a bad storm. I kept them warm with a towel inside of box until morning. I played this to attract the mom back and she came back and got all 3 of them! Was definitely heartwarming to see ❤️

Found a VERY young baby squirrel on the ground under the nest, very high up in the tree. Played this…. It worked within 30 seconds!!! Thank goodness!

found a baby almost dead, frozen and probably suffering heatstroke, we didn’t even realise it was a squirrel but we luckily had an ice drink we gently placed on top of his back and it opened its eyes!! We took him in and made a little box, wiped off his blood and gave some water and milk, within seconds he came back to life and had energy. Then we noticed screeches coming from the tree outside and realised it was the mother😭😭 we placed him on the tree trunk and the mum couldn’t find him and with this she finally did😭🎉
Wow. Ngl was skeptical but had to try I found 4 baby's remodeling garage behind wall. Took into house over night not know what to do. Kept warm did research. Found this put box back out next day played this on loop and the momma got the babies. I was sooo happy.

I tried for 1:30 hrs, no use.... Suddenly i searched in CZcams about baby's sound.... And playing this video his mother ran up from far and picked the baby🥹🥰

This works in Florida! We found a baby squirrel in a wet nest that fell out of a tree. We worked with a wildlife hospital and they instructed us to remove the baby from the wet nest, to place the baby squirrel into a shoebox with clean, dry towels, and a heated rice sock (only softly warm in the microwave with room in the box for the baby to move away in case it's too warm). The hospital said the mother does not care that the baby is in human stuff/smells. That is a myth told to children. The baby just needs to stay safe, warm, and dry. The wildlife hospital said to place the box near the nest, at the base of the tree and play the audio of a baby squirrel call on a loop. We used this video today on a cell phone, and the mother found the baby and took it. Thank you so much!

I have grey squirrels in my yard and I play this and they come running down the tree and just look at me. One day the one squirrel got within maybe 3 feet of me. And just stood there snapping its tail

Remember sometime mothers will actually throw the baby out of the nest if there is something wrong with it. It sounds horrible, in fact it is, but from the mother's point of view it's about wasting resources on a creature that wont survive in the wild. That's where we squirrel lovers come in!
The 5 orphan squirrels I try to save the last 4 days did the same sound. I use this video to find out if there was other squirrels
FYI, their mother was crushed by a car near my house and they fall 1 by 1 of the neighbor’s tree. Now I’m just glad those orphan squirrels are in good hand.

A family of squirrels has lived in my attic and raised its babies there for some 4 generations, ever since they discovered a way in by climbing up the drain spout, locating a hole within reach of the spout, then shimmering through the hole into an opening to the attic. All I can think is today, sisters must have left their litters to play together, because the scampering is so loud that it is scaring the birds outside, and amid scampering and tumbling noises one hears these sweet little vocalizations. I played the sounds on this track, and the babies seem to have abruptly dropped off to sleep.

We are raising a baby Gray Squirrel right now. We've had home for a week now and figure him to be right around 7 weeks. He's so adorable...My son was out in the yard tending to so perennials a d saw some leaves rustling around...The little fella ran right up to him and into his armpit...

Sometimes squirrels have nightmares makes the sound when my little guy sleeping in his box sometimes just start making this deafening noise I pull all his covers off of him to look he appears to be having a nightmare who knows
Yes - I've heard them do this as well. They typically stop when they feel me touch them lightly. I wonder if they just want comfort when they do this -- to know someone is near.
@@hotelforsquirrels8875 I never knew they could get dehydrated while on formula I just went through hell three and a half days. Warm water soaks ......nada apple juice..... zip zero. The only thing that worked was a little bit of olive oil virgin extra olive oil in the syringe with extra warm water. Also may be guilty of letting the formula become room temperature I think that may what made him stopped up lesson learned. When I found him he was like 3 days old the cats are playing kickball with him I thought it was too big to be a rat so I threw him on a heating pad that's been three and a half weeks now seems to be doing well except for the stopped up issue. Let me ask you a question, I'm thinking about giving him a couple of syringes of Pedialyte in between all of his meals, you think that is okay??
It’s so windy today in SoCal. A baby squirrel must have fallen out of my pepper tree. He/she can climb the stucco on my house but definitely crying for Mama! I put a dish out with walnuts, hazelnuts, unsugared coconut shavings and a slice of honey crisp apple.

Worked for me in about 5 seconds. Seems like squirrels might not have he best eyesight because the mom was about two feet away from the baby but couldn’t find it, but once I fired up the squirrel soundtrack she saw the baby immediately
Remember their eyes are on the side of their heads so their forward vision may not be great.

OMG, I have a squirrel trapped in my bedroom right now, as I type this. She's hunkered down, frozen in the the corner. Poor thing. I keep trying to coerce her out with peanuts but she's not moving. She climbed through my window and couldn't escape back outside and then fell to the floor off of the window ledge. I don't know what to do. I'm playing this through my stereo speakers and I put a step ladder near the window with peanuts on each step. I don't know what to do. I don't want to call animal rescue. I hope the poor thing has enough courage to follow the peanuts to the outside.

@@grantrennie OMG. To everyone. Sorry for not updating you. Yes, I left the windows open but closed the blinds so only the open part of the window was showing to prevent the squirrel running into the glass. I then left the room entirely to give the little one its space. I was in the kitchen cleaning dishes and I finally heard a scurry. When I went back to the bedroom to check the squirrel had indeed found freedom. That afternoon the baby came back for more peanuts. Thank you everyone for your concern!
- btw, I learned that squirrels on TV and other squirrel sounds spook my real squirrel family. They are competitive and territorial. When they see other squirrels on my TV they twitch and gyrate and piss on my window ledge! I've learned that they don't want fellow squirrel friends. It just makes them mad.

It depends on the age of the babies. Yes, though, I have been able to find other babies that needed help with this call.

BUT you helped the lil thing, and gave it a better life than it would’ve had, and I bet it thanks you from “above”, or “next life” or whatever you believe 😅♥️ BUT I did find my baby girl🥺 she found her way outside for the third time. But my baby girl always comes back when she “runs away”... she just has fun outside for the day, and I’ll find her in the drive way, scared, wanting to come in 🥺 they are so small, and so much work... but so worth it. Maybe there will be another little one that may need your help next year during “baby chippy/squirrel season”.

I rescued about an 8 week old baby squirrel last week. My dog chewed him up and he was pretty injured. I thought he was going to die, so I didn't bring him to an animal shelter. I have been taking care of it ever since (feeding him a goat milk formula, water, seeds/fruits/veggies). He's really active now and I think its time to let him out. I am worried though because he might not find his home or his mom won't come back for him. Do you think playing this sound will make the mom come look for him after a week has passed???
I’m in a similar situation except my dog didn’t injure the squirrel. I just found him uninjured. So, instead of immediately turning him loose I tried desensitizing my dog so he wouldn’t see him as prey and protect him instead.
So far using the “cute voice“ and the words friend, gentle, slow, and play are working. He’s not behaving the same as he does other squirrels so I think I’m going to keep him. I just want to be sure so I’m going to consult a wildlife org first to be sure he’ll be able to understand me and the dog are sources of food, love and protection for a life without confinement. I already purchased a sturdy squirrel home.

@@kristinritter9587 Hey that's awesome! I wish you good luck with that. I actually kept the squirrel for a week and I couldn't take care of him anymore. I put him outside and made a shelter for him (on a tree) but he was still in the shelter every single day, without going anywhere else. I later noticed that there were other baby squirrels on a different tree. I replaced his shelter and he's been in their squirrel nest ever since! (It's been 2 weeks now)
It also works to evict squirrels from an attic. I played it twice in the attic and they were gone the next day.
This is a great use of it. Humane relocation is a new use.

It works well at first until the squirrels figure out its only a few seconds that repeats over and over (looping). A squirrel came to me and blew the whistle on this recording, otherwise, I would never have realized, I can't speak squirrel.
I've never known one to figure out the repeat. Darn!
