I've actually been doing this for years with left over pulled pork/brisket/chicken etc. Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls are really popular around the house. Good to see a real chef had the same idea!

@@dr6511 left over chicken, mines usually smoked, cream cheese, butter, hot sauce, garlic, soy sauce and caynee pepper for the filling - don't use thick wrapper like wonton cause its to much breading in my opinion -- thinner the wrapper the better, fry it up until golden

No. Spring roll wrapper is super duper thin. A wonton wrapper is the same as an egg roll wrapper.

Could those be frozen before deep frying for future use? Looks great.
You should be able to freeze and safely fry them up later since the filling is already fully cooked. Growing up, when my mom use to make lumpia she would do it in a large batch by cooking up the filling and then rolling about 50-60 lumpia. We'd have some the night she made them and she would freeze the rest to fry up for another day. The process for these cheeseburger egg rolls are the same for how my mom use to make batches of lumpia. You can fry these fresh or from frozen until they're golden brown and it's all good.

Are your gas grills burning LPG or natural gas? Different fuels burn at different temperatures and sometimes you can taste the difference.

I would fry more if I knew what to do with the left over oil
Dump it down the drain or find a wildlife preserve and pitch it there. Seriously though, if you live in or near an urban area you might have a recycling center that will take it. There are websites like Earth911 that you can check to see what's available near you. If that's not feasible, bag it up well and add it to your outgoing trash.
When you change oil in your car, save the container for used frying oil...then, when you pour your used cooking oil in the empty container, glue the lid on and put it in the trash.

for a dipping sauce... before cooking, cut up a clove of garlic and half a chili pepper and add that to an 1/8 cup of apple cider vinegar and a 1/8 cup of soy sauce and let the flavors come together in the fridge.

@@allthingsbbqAfter cutting length wise and removing the seeds. I have sauted them in chicken stock or soba soup to remove some bitterness but not cook them until softened. Then stuffed them like green peppers in the past. I smoked them to cook the meat, rice and vegetable stuffing. Then wrap them in bacon with the two halves together or separate really comes out great either way.
Eh cute idea, but it needs some toothsome crunch inside...like cabbage/celery, otherwise it's just crispy moosh.

Typically egg roll wrappers are made out of flour, eggs, water, and salt that are rolled into 1/8" thick or thinner.

Those napoleon grills are shit house. I totally regret buying mine every time I use it. It’s so bad I can’t even sell it to contribute money to buying a decent gas bbq.
