I remember him telling the crowed the story behind this song, he met these two persons while he was traveling in Europe. He frist met the old men while playing on the street, and his stroy kept him up at night. He wanted to write a song about this man, but it would have been a very short song, so when he met the woman he finally knew who the second verse was going to be about. He met the woman in another country in Europe, and he was playing the verse of the old man again and again, and the woman just sat down next to him and later she told him her story.
Well, I cried during the whole song.. so yeah

I truly consider Whispers 1 and 2 to be Mikes best work. I also really love the rest of his work, but these two records have so many heartbreakingly beautiful songs like this or "Catch in the Dark" or "Fear of Fear". Always gonna be special to me.
