- If you'd like to get the recipe for these salt bars you can buy the recipe here for £10:

These salt bars are wonderful, long-lasting, and create a fabulous foamy lather. You could always use the base recipe and tweak it slightly for example if you don't want to use essential oils these can easily be swapped out for fragrance oils to make the bar unique to you.

Although my cold process soap making tutorials are of a tutorial nature, they are intended for people who have a good understanding of making cold process soap. The information given is based on what works for me, however, there are lots of variables associated with cold process soap making and I, therefore, take no responsibility for the results achieved when using the techniques or methods explained in these tutorials. Cold process soap involves the necessary use of sodium Hydroxide (lye) which is a very dangerous substance. Before attempting and cold process soap making you should ensure you are fully aware of the lye safety procedures and always wear the correct safety equipment when making soap.

Thank you Lisa for the recipe, for anyone debating joining her patreon, you should do it! She has tons of great information ! And she’s super helpful and has fantastic soaps ❤️
I fully agree! Her Patreon is totally worth it.
I love the simplicity of these! Wonderful!
Thank you! 😊
I am never going to make soap as my thing is dollhouse stuff, I enjoy so much just watching the process, and you explain stuff well, will keep on watching ☺
😍☝
Thank you Lisa! Your explanations are fantastic, I am going to give it a try today ❤
Have fun, I hope yours turn out well
Thank you so much for the recipe. It's very kind of you, thanks
My pleasure 😊
Thanks for the recipe Lisa! I'm def going to be giving these a go soon!! 😍
Ooh look, 3 months to reply to a comment, that's not good is it (but I have older ones too - oops) so did you make them? - oh and as you probably know I won't get a notification if you reply to that question :-)
@@IDreamInSoap Better late than never right?!😆 I have not made them yet but I have the recipe and actually printed it out and put it in my "to-do" folder. That folder is much more thick than I want it to be. Your soap on a rope is in that folder too and how long ago was that one??!😆
Many thanks, Lisa, for sharing the recipe! Looking forward to trying this out. Wish me luck ♥♥♥♥
👌😇
Wow, the end results look a lot like stone rather than soap. Just due of the combination of charcoal and the salt texture, very cool. Bet they smell amazing! Thanks so much Lisa!!
Hey Beck, I hope you're well. Thanks so much 💛
Thanks Lisa. Cannot remember that I have ever come across salt soap bars. These black ones would make good creepy gravestones
He. He yes they would
Do you think I could sub actual Dead Sea Mud in place of the DSM powder?
I wish i could make these.. every time I make salt bars they weep...😢 no matter what time of year.. these bars do look lovely..❤
Try using a clay with them to soak up the moisture of the salt.
I can not find you on patreon. Can you please post a link?
Lovely salt bars! What colour is the lather? Does it discolour wash cloths?
Hi Nicole, no they don't colour the lather very much at all, it's not pure white, but it's not messy either. If you're concerned, it woould be easy to swap out the activated charcoal for something else.
Hey Lisa! Every Aloe Vera juice I can find has like 1% lemon juice as a stabilizer. Do I need to account for this with a bit more lye?
Hi Brandon, sorry for the delay. The lime juice would be pretty weak on the acid PH scale so at that tiny amount it's incredibly unlikely to have any noticeable effect on your lye. I wouldn't bother adjusting for it.
Can I replace aloe Vera juice with raw fresh aloe Vera gel from my garden? I usually never buy aloe Vera juice at the stores because they all have some chemicals additives in the product.
Yes you can, no problem
I want to join your patrion but I'm in the hospital without a bank card but I do have bank information but neither PayPal nor patrion accept that kind of thing. I should be out in a couple more weeks and I can get things squared away then. Although it will be a little too late for this recipe. Oh well, no biggie. I do promise to become a patrion, though. Lisa, you are an amazing artist and I could learn so much from you!
Oh Aagie I hope you're OK. Please concentrate on you.If you do get on Patreon in the future just message me and I'll make sure you get the recipe
@@IDreamInSoap thank you so much! This chapter indeed has been a few ups with many downs. I'll keep in touch with you.
How do you stop them from crying???
I always keep them in a dry place and protect from humidity as much as possible
What kind of salt do you use? The sea salt?
Hi, yes, just fine sea salt
Hi, I'm just starting making soap. Whats the best place to get info about selling soaps. Thanks
Honestly. Why not learn how to craft amazing soaps and learning the science about the processes. If your just starting you have a long way ahead of you be for you can master selling them. Good luck though.
Making anything is a journey.
Selling stuff can be stressful.
Enjoy the process first, then commit to sales when you have it nailed.
@@IDreamInSoap I do enjoy the process...but recovering some money would be nice. Essential oils ain't cheap :)
👍
Thank you 😊
How do you join Lisa's patreon?
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi @DidarAhammed I'm so pleased you liked it and thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment for me ☺️
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤einai ENERGOS ANTHRAKAS !!
Thank you so much @sofikor9090, that's very kind of you.
I wasn’t able to find you on Patreon. Are you still there?
Sadly no - no time!
CZcams and soap making is intense. 😐
Why stop the gel phase just to get it out of a mold and cut it? The gel phase is important....
If you don't cut it after a couple of hours it will become too hard and you will never cut it. Salt soaps harden very quickly
😊 correct me if I’m in the out field on this but not too sure that I can meet your logic re the Aloe content being 100% for your liquid quotient - 10 x or not. There’s still a water % in your lye solution 😉 😉. That being said that degree of Aloe would definitely make a luscious Salt Bar 😊. Couldn’t help but smile when I saw the top of your Loaf - it looked like a Waddle of Emperor Penguins 😊😊 And thank heavens for a Soap without Micas, TD, sodium lactate & fragrance oils - Whoopee! The whole point of making one’s own surely, is to get away from all the nasties that commercial ‘soap’ producers use 🤔 I would buy this bar were I domiciled in England 💗Thank you, always, for being your wonderful self
@@IDreamInSoap Ahhhhh, thank you so much!!! I haven't been brave enough to try salt yet so, I'm asking all I can. 😂
Not impressed at all. Keep your recipe, it is perfectly fine.
