Kinda disagree sir zach. Locals are not aware na may mga fast approaching MC. Yung mga checkpoints lang ang may coordination sa LGU and the rest of the route is “bahala na”. And in the day to day basis nang mga locals in the provinces, alam nila na di masyado marami nadaan kaya at some degree they are not aware. I get the point na di naman lahat hawak nang organizer but in every event laging ang organizer ang managot once mag karoon nang kung ano man within the scope of that said event. Maybe better implementation of rules? Or disqualifications sa mga lalabag sa batas trapiko and all. Unlike ibang event in the other countries na sinasarado nila yung kalsada at may barikada pa nga to ensure that civilians will stay away from the route of the participants. I get your point po pero based sa videos lalo na dun sa bob@ng naka van na puti na nag uturn, makakaiwas or makakahinto naman sana yung rider if hindi sila mabilis masyado magpatakbo due to the time restriction nung event. Actually po di nman subrang bilis patakbo nung naka bigbike ang subrang mali tlaga is di man lang tumingin yung driver nang van sa kabilang linya. I fully understand the concept of sport and competition, but your analogy to tie up these traits to this event is out of context. Sport competitions are organized events held on an exclusive area where the competitors do not share the same space with the public during the event. Such examples are Tour de France, 24 hours of Le Mans, Isle of Man TT, Pikes Peak Hill Climb and more. Boss Ironman participants are not sports atheletes, but more of a regular joe who found a good excuse to push their limit (and beyond) to prove to their ego that they are worth something, to the extent of sacrificing the safety of their own and others. But I also see a great side to this in the future. This is a great platform for an prganized competition that anyone with a proper mindset can join. But for me, the best way to organize this event safely, without risking the safety of other motorists and the public in general, is to do this event exclusively as sanctioned competition. Like the events that I mentioned, these racing events are on public roads, but they close these roads to the public during the events.
Ito mismo ung para sakin eh spot on 100% fact! Sa marathon wala namang sasalubong sayo. Unlike sa gantong challenge. Hindi lang ikaw may karapatan sa kalsada. Nakikigamit ka lang din. Imagine maintaining 75kph from start to finish (1200 km) just to adhere dun sa minimum 16hrs to complete. Ano ba oras nung mga top finishers. Shempre they will make up for loss times pra makapag pa pirma at selfie sa mga checkpoints. Gano ba kahaba expressways kung saan allowed ung mga 100kph na takbuhan. Yun palang napaka laking violation na eh.
@@harhar23 May nakita ako sa ilang vlogs nung Boss Ironman 2022, tumatakbo sila ng up to 200kph on a two lane highway sa kalagitnaan ng araw while everyone is out. Hindi ko maimagine kung gaano kalaki yung aksidente kung mamalasin yung rider at that rate of speed, lalo na yung madadamay nya.

I've seen clips sa mga checkpoints na makikita talaga yung dami at lakas ng mga ilaw even in 4 wheels, pero ironic na andun yung mga law enforcers natin at inaasist pa sila.

@@marjodacio8749 with or without the event marami pa din nakaka bulag na ilaw motor or sasakyan. meron pa nga 4wheels naka post ngayon sa FB nag pa dark tint ng sasakyan sabay hanap ng malakas na ilaw. Probably solution here is participants must use clear lens/visors for their motorcycles. make it part of the scrutiny process and double checked before they let the rider of the line. But i agree dapat din sa scrutiny process check nila if pasok sa LTO guidelines ung mga naka attach na ilaw.
well said. as a participant this year. i can say that most of the rider i have encountered on the event are discipline riders. this is also to promote tourism on the route itself. also most locals are happy seeing the visitors on their location. me mga banners pa ng "Ride safe". "kuya bomba!". "penge stickers!" etc...
I agree with you Sir Zach… I just hope everybody will abide by the speed limit. As a rider myself, i can honestly say that i have broken the speed limit several times. It will be hard to control the urge to throttle down when riding a big bike simply because of the power and the adrenalin that the bike gives a rider. But if it will make endurance challenges more safely i hiess it should be considered by the organizers

100% Agree. Any overspeeding or reckless driving violation, automatically disqualified na dapat. I think yung implementation of ride history during these events is more possible given na lahat naman siguro may smartphones na which most I think has built-in GPS (kaya nga tayo nakakapag-waze).
I love the idea of the endurance riding, the idea of riding on your pwn pace and getting the satisfaction of finishing it safely... but i really don't like the idea of making it a long distance racing..

Put a speed limiter on all participants chosen rides. Limit them to 80kph to 100kph. Also the organizers should put more Marshalls on site. Imagine riders getting lost and being forced to catch up. The Organizers should be held responsible for all mishaps regardless who did it.
Cguro po sir Zack next year mas mahigpit ang organizer sa mga motor ng participants na di pa registered, ni wala pa ngang plaka. pag ordinaryong tao na maglalabas ng bagong motor bawal bumyahe ng malayo kasi wala pang plaka at di pa registered. Dito pinapakita pa sa mga Vlog na 2 days before ng event kukunin ung motor sa casa tapos gagamitin sa north luzon loop.
wrong is wrong. what is illegal is illegal. walang sumasali jan na hindi kamote... lahat sila overspeeding wag na nating lokohin ang iba baka isipin nila normal yan. Majority ng riders jan target nila talunin ang 24 oras, so karera yun at lahat sila inoorasan. Overspeeding is illegal. wag nyo na pagtakpan. Kung gusto nyo safe, dapat sa totoong safe environment. May race track nama, dapat dun gawin nyan tulad ng 24 hr challenge sa Suzuka circuit sa Japan. Be realistic, lahat ng kasali jan overspeeding sila at reckless driving, kasi nga goal nila talunin yung oras at makabalik ng pinakamabilis. Wala ni isa natiketan jan kasi protektado mga kasi yan so bakit nga ba?
Riders are egged and encouraged to ride fast. After 12hrs, fatigue sets in and riders loose situational awareness, delayed reaction times and most probably tunnel vision. The only requirement to join is that you have the ability to pay the registration fee. I agee that riders ride history should be considered, at the very least they should have atleast completed 400km, 600km and 900km Challenges before they try the 1,200km Challenge. The same was that to join the Milo, Boston, London or any major 42km Marathon, you need to have finished other events. Sounds like an apologist for BOSS, BMW and other Sponsors of the Event.

In Terms of Recording ma share ko lang as a person who do Running/Cycle and nag momotor din okay yung idea na GPS base nalang. Like pwede gumawa nalang ng online event tapos yung GPS record nalang yung i check for the basis of best time to complete the event. Activities can be recorded using apps like Garmin/Relive/Strava kaso walang pang motor dun sa Strava, personality I use Umiodigi Uwatch 3, XOSS g+ and XOSS NAV tapos linked nalang sa Strava/Relive or rekta nalang sa phone minsan kung malapit lang. Back then in the height of the pandemic yung SUB1 10k challenge online submission lang ng recorded activity yung ginawa ni Pinoy Fitness.

agree ako sa kamote is kamote. and these endurance challenges encourage undisciplined riders to test their limits in a public road. just look at the history ng accidents sa mga endurance challenges. it's not a race but there's no speed limit? yes maraming accidents sa pinas daily, so why do something na magpapa taas pa lalo ng chance for accidents? stopping endurance challenges will not stop accidents. but it will absolutely lessen/prevent it

Ang di ko lang gusto sa endurance challenges na to is most of the bikes are equipped with overwhelmingly lots of led auxiliary light that is turned on whether night or day, and it's blinding. When you give a pass light they don't turn it down, they simply ignore it. Nakakainis lang. Imagine, it's turned on, blinding opposite direction vehicles, and is still daylight. Are they blind or something? I get it that they are on the run but it is something to take consider din naman. Masakit sa mga mata ang auxiliary light whether its day or night. From this palang, safety is questionable na. It can cause accidents and road rage btw. And its terribly annoying.

I don't know much about motorcycles much more the high end one. Does anybody know how much distance it would take for a high end bike to stop Let's say it was going at 100kph, i would imagine that these high end bikes are equipped with ABS already. What I wanted to say is, is it not possible for the bike to completely stop upon seeing the van making a turn? I think i heard honking right before he crashed, did he not break?
May ganyan din ang cycling its called aduax. Pero di ganyan kalayo na 1200kms mga nasa 200km to 300km di rin siya race at may time ka na hahabulin. Speed gun/ speed camera... To be transmitted to the organizer... Place it on straight/curve roads... Accident happened to all sports... Organizer can make better/safe for the rider.. make it 20hour minimum... Bago tumawid Ng finish line...
Yung mga ibang kalahok lang naman talaga ang problema. Parang sirang plaka na nga ang mga organizers sa pagpapaalala sa lahat na sumunod sa mga safety guidelines. Paulit ulit naman nila yun ina-announce sa lahat pero sadyang may mga riders talaga na sumasali lang dyan para may mai-post at ipagyabang lang na mabilis nilang natapos o narating yung mga checkpoints. Yung mga pasaway lang talaga ang sumisira sa magandang hangarin ng event na yan.
Parang kulang pa po kasi ng enforcement yung organizers. Hindi sapat ang paulit ulit lang nilang paalalahanan ang participants na hindi ito karera. Sabayan ng enforcement gaya ng visible marshalls sa madaming lugar, hindi lang sa checkpoints. Mandatory review ng gopro ng participants para makita tinakbo nila atbp. Do not give recognition sa “top finishers” para walang mag unahan. Ienforce na mas importante ang navigation skills kumpara sa bilis makatapos. ✌️

Imagine maintaining 75kph from start to finish (1200 km) just to adhere dun sa minimum 16hrs to complete. Ano ba oras nung mga top finishers. Shempre they will make up for loss times pra makapag pa pirma at selfie sa mga checkpoints. Gano ba kahaba expressways kung saan allowed ung mga 100kph na takbuhan. Yun palang napaka laking violation na eh.

@@harhar23 May nakita ako sa ilang vlogs nung Boss Ironman 2022, tumatakbo sila ng up to 200kph on a two lane highway sa kalagitnaan ng araw while everyone is out. Hindi ko maimagine kung gaano kalaki yung aksidente kung mamalasin yung rider at that rate of speed, lalo na yung madadamay nya.

Do not organize an event if you can not control the participants. Ang nangyayare kasi doon lang sa take off and finish line ang controlled. Pag nakawala na, bakbakan na yan. Paano gawing totally controlled? Gawin ito sa track. Kahit isang buwan pa kayo magbakbakan diyan!
I've seen clips sa mga checkpoints na makikita talaga yung dami at lakas ng mga ilaw even in 4 wheels, pero ironic na andun yung mga law enforcers natin at inaasist pa sila.
Ang tanong sa nakakasilaw na ilaw is kung pasok ba siya guidlines ng LTO. Pag pasok then that is legal. At kailangan nman tlga ang maliwamag na aux light sa byahe sa gabi..

@@marjodacio8749 with or without the event marami pa din nakaka bulag na ilaw motor or sasakyan. meron pa nga 4wheels naka post ngayon sa FB nag pa dark tint ng sasakyan sabay hanap ng malakas na ilaw. Probably solution here is participants must use clear lens/visors for their motorcycles. make it part of the scrutiny process and double checked before they let the rider of the line. But i agree dapat din sa scrutiny process check nila if pasok sa LTO guidelines ung mga naka attach na ilaw.

well said. as a participant this year. i can say that most of the rider i have encountered on the event are discipline riders. this is also to promote tourism on the route itself. also most locals are happy seeing the visitors on their location. me mga banners pa ng "Ride safe". "kuya bomba!". "penge stickers!" etc...
I agree with you Sir Zach… I just hope everybody will abide by the speed limit. As a rider myself, i can honestly say that i have broken the speed limit several times. It will be hard to control the urge to throttle down when riding a big bike simply because of the power and the adrenalin that the bike gives a rider. But if it will make endurance challenges more safely i hiess it should be considered by the organizers

Key points were well explained, an ultramarathoner myself and most of my colleagues don't really understands na nagbabayad pa ko para maghirap through the course of an event.
100% Agree. Any overspeeding or reckless driving violation, automatically disqualified na dapat. I think yung implementation of ride history during these events is more possible given na lahat naman siguro may smartphones na which most I think has built-in GPS (kaya nga tayo nakakapag-waze).

I love the idea of the endurance riding, the idea of riding on your pwn pace and getting the satisfaction of finishing it safely... but i really don't like the idea of making it a long distance racing..

Put a speed limiter on all participants chosen rides. Limit them to 80kph to 100kph. Also the organizers should put more Marshalls on site. Imagine riders getting lost and being forced to catch up. The Organizers should be held responsible for all mishaps regardless who did it.
Cguro po sir Zack next year mas mahigpit ang organizer sa mga motor ng participants na di pa registered, ni wala pa ngang plaka. pag ordinaryong tao na maglalabas ng bagong motor bawal bumyahe ng malayo kasi wala pang plaka at di pa registered. Dito pinapakita pa sa mga Vlog na 2 days before ng event kukunin ung motor sa casa tapos gagamitin sa north luzon loop.

wrong is wrong. what is illegal is illegal. walang sumasali jan na hindi kamote... lahat sila overspeeding wag na nating lokohin ang iba baka isipin nila normal yan. Majority ng riders jan target nila talunin ang 24 oras, so karera yun at lahat sila inoorasan. Overspeeding is illegal. wag nyo na pagtakpan. Kung gusto nyo safe, dapat sa totoong safe environment. May race track nama, dapat dun gawin nyan tulad ng 24 hr challenge sa Suzuka circuit sa Japan. Be realistic, lahat ng kasali jan overspeeding sila at reckless driving, kasi nga goal nila talunin yung oras at makabalik ng pinakamabilis. Wala ni isa natiketan jan kasi protektado mga kasi yan so bakit nga ba?
Riders are egged and encouraged to ride fast. After 12hrs, fatigue sets in and riders loose situational awareness, delayed reaction times and most probably tunnel vision.
The only requirement to join is that you have the ability to pay the registration fee. I agee that riders ride history should be considered, at the very least they should have atleast completed 400km, 600km and 900km Challenges before they try the 1,200km Challenge. The same was that to join the Milo, Boston, London or any major 42km Marathon, you need to have finished other events.
Sounds like an apologist for BOSS, BMW and other Sponsors of the Event.

In Terms of Recording ma share ko lang as a person who do Running/Cycle and nag momotor din okay yung idea na GPS base nalang. Like pwede gumawa nalang ng online event tapos yung GPS record nalang yung i check for the basis of best time to complete the event. Activities can be recorded using apps like Garmin/Relive/Strava kaso walang pang motor dun sa Strava, personality I use Umiodigi Uwatch 3, XOSS g+ and XOSS NAV tapos linked nalang sa Strava/Relive or rekta nalang sa phone minsan kung malapit lang.
Back then in the height of the pandemic yung SUB1 10k challenge online submission lang ng recorded activity yung ginawa ni Pinoy Fitness.

Minimum 24hrs mkakabalik sa finish line not 16hrs. DQ xmpre kpag nkabalik ng less than 24hrs at para mas maenjoy ng participants ang view ng provinces at ndi cla mkaramdam n kaylangan nilang magmadali mkabalik sa finish line.

agree ako sa kamote is kamote. and these endurance challenges encourage undisciplined riders to test their limits in a public road. just look at the history ng accidents sa mga endurance challenges. it's not a race but there's no speed limit? yes maraming accidents sa pinas daily, so why do something na magpapa taas pa lalo ng chance for accidents? stopping endurance challenges will not stop accidents. but it will absolutely lessen/prevent it
Organize an endurance challenge for sub400cc motorcycles and lets see if it gets the same support from politicians and the police.

Ang di ko lang gusto sa endurance challenges na to is most of the bikes are equipped with overwhelmingly lots of led auxiliary light that is turned on whether night or day, and it's blinding. When you give a pass light they don't turn it down, they simply ignore it. Nakakainis lang. Imagine, it's turned on, blinding opposite direction vehicles, and is still daylight. Are they blind or something? I get it that they are on the run but it is something to take consider din naman. Masakit sa mga mata ang auxiliary light whether its day or night. From this palang, safety is questionable na. It can cause accidents and road rage btw. And its terribly annoying.

Does anybody know how much distance it would take for a high end bike to stop Let's say it was going at 100kph, i would imagine that these high end bikes are equipped with ABS already.
What I wanted to say is, is it not possible for the bike to completely stop upon seeing the van making a turn? I think i heard honking right before he crashed, did he not break?
May ganyan din ang cycling its called aduax. Pero di ganyan kalayo na 1200kms mga nasa 200km to 300km di rin siya race at may time ka na hahabulin. Para sa sumasali sa boss iron man enjoy niyo yung view at lugar. Accident happen kahit gaano ka kaingat sa daan. Siguro dapat may avg speed sila sa buong 1200kms. Para di gigil sa selinyador. Tska yung road condition in our country ay di maganda.

Yung mga ibang kalahok lang naman talaga ang problema. Parang sirang plaka na nga ang mga organizers sa pagpapaalala sa lahat na sumunod sa mga safety guidelines. Paulit ulit naman nila yun ina-announce sa lahat pero sadyang may mga riders talaga na sumasali lang dyan para may mai-post at ipagyabang lang na mabilis nilang natapos o narating yung mga checkpoints. Yung mga pasaway lang talaga ang sumisira sa magandang hangarin ng event na yan.
Parang kulang pa po kasi ng enforcement yung organizers. Hindi sapat ang paulit ulit lang nilang paalalahanan ang participants na hindi ito karera. Sabayan ng enforcement gaya ng visible marshalls sa madaming lugar, hindi lang sa checkpoints. Mandatory review ng gopro ng participants para makita tinakbo nila atbp. Do not give recognition sa “top finishers” para walang mag unahan. Ienforce na mas importante ang navigation skills kumpara sa bilis makatapos. ✌️

Hindi ako against sa mga endurance challenge pero mrami tlga sa mga participants ang habol is makapg top finisher wich is mali. Endurance ang sinalihan nila at hindi karera, public road ang gngamit nila hindi race track
