She learned how to fall on transition. She rides ramps normally. If you skate a lot you can see it. She uses the knee slide. You ONLY learn that on vert. It’s by far the best way to bail on vert. No street skater knee slides.

Yes!! Proper padding and knowing how to land to avoid hurting yourself makes SUCH a difference when skating, it not only lowers risk of injury but also increases your bravery and confidence. This girl fell down concrete stairs 20 times and didn’t even flinch because she had the padding and proper landing technique. Whoever’s teaching her to skate is doing an amazing job

I used to teach figure skating to kids. A lot of them are afraid to fall. If you teach them how to fall safely they often have a lot more confidence to try again. I'm so glad that she kept going and eventually she figured it out!! So impressive ❤

If you fall back you can land on your tailbone and in the worst case push your whole spine together. I landed on my tailbone once and still have problems to this day.

my mom is extremely overprotective too, but thats because she went skiing once and injured her knees pretty bad which she correlates to her lifelong knee pain. I had a bad fall on my knees when i was young too and i too have lifelong knee pain. Genetics or actually related to the incidents? No one knows but you cant tell my mother otherwise 🤷🏻♀️

it’s called safe falling. When you learn how to skateboard, you learn how to fall in a way that minimises injuries. You can see how she doesn’t use her hands to brace herself and tries to fall in a specific way. That’s why a lot of skaters don’t wear gear after a while, because they know how to fall

This is correct. I ride horses and you can always tell in an emergency who did and didn't get taught moving dismounts.

it’s called safe falling. When you learn how to skateboard, you learn how to fall in a way that minimises injuries. You can see how she doesn’t use her hands to brace herself and tries to fall in a specific way. That’s why a lot of skaters don’t wear gear after a while, because they know how to fall
