  • This video shows our Oztent RV2 setup which was purchased from drifta.com.au. We have a few of the Oztent Accessories as well as some Drifta modifications. Certainly recommend the Drifta Pole setup and also the Oztent Canvas bag.

I bought one of these here in the US. Love it. Beats a roof top tent.

I saw these available in the US. Seems like a decent setup. I ended up going with a Kodiak canvas tent which worked better for my needs.

Sean Rorie ...only fits 2 people? We have the RV2 and it fits 2 with a big double mattress and space for all the personal kit as well. Would have thought you could fit more in the RV5

You can fit more maybe a child or a fridge and some gear but they are a small tent it certainly wont fit 5 adults. If on air matresses its a two man tent with space to walk down the centre.I think the RV3 is the pick of the range

    Hello.
    I have the RV5 I love it.
How much better are those Drifta poles than the original Oztent ones?
I'm looking to upgrade my poles.
I have to wait until there in stock in Europe first as they can't send poles to the UK direct from Australia.
    One more question.
Do you ever have any water pooling at the top of your front deluxe panel where the horizontal spreader bar is whilst it is closed?
If so do you have any quick remedy?
    Thanks.
    David.

Hi... Yup, the Drifta poles are really good. We upgraded straight away to the Drifta ones. The spreader bars are great and keeps things nice and tight. Are you buying them through Drifta Europe? Yes, we do get a bit of water pooling, it is minimised by getting the poles at the back nice and high for a good slope off the front and then pulling out the middle guy. It still pools a bit though. I do have a Tarp Saver made by the same company who make the poles for when the weather is really bad. This lifts the canvas and the result is no water pooling. The downside is the tarp saver connects to a pole which uses a bit of space inside the awning. Not too bad though depending on how you organise the awning space. Rich Brown Yes I will be getting them from Drifta Europe when they start to sell them. I was told this will be early January.
Can't find any good alternatives here in the UK.

every oztent review I have seen shows someone standing outside the tent and not in it? not much room inside maybe? Do you think it would suit UK conditions especially wet days. I am very tempted by one of these but it is an expensive tent so I want to make sure it is right for me before buying

I am now in the UK and used it two weeks ago on a wet weekend in Northumberland with no issues. Height inside slopes down but it is possible for me to stand up bent over to get changed... depends how tall you are of course :-)...

Many thanks. My only other concern with the design is the packed size. They can be a bit cumbersome to transport.
