Great show, one of the local channels had this on very early in the morning, like at 5, followed by Highway Patrol. Came to love both series. Both were very well done by the same producer.

Living it landlocked Iowa, I loved this show. Plus women in bathing suits helped. I was 18. The theme music was really something. Very dramatic. The two generation Bridges family became famous.
A great guy and a great series. The men enjoyed all the underwater knife/spear/harpoon fights, and the women enjoyed Lloyd standing there on the boat in his swim trunks.

My dad & I, used to watch this, when I was a kid (45+ or so, years ago). He loved that show, as that was part of his generational, TV lineup. Plus, he was an ex-navy man, and we live along the seashore. Mike Nelson was a big name, around our house. I also, learned alot, from viewing this program. Funny note though; how can one see blue kelp on b&w underwater, closed-circut TV🤔??
One correction, for your behalf; this episode came out in '56 (like the series), not in '58, as you have noted, in the description.

@25:57 - Closing credits list the year as 1956, even though it premiered in 1958.
Perhaps it was a pilot and made well before the series went into full production.
