Please note the 1893 F. A. Cup final was held at the Fallowfield Stadium later named the Harris Stadium, near Maine Road. Wolverhampton Wanderers beating Everton 1-0. The only F. A. Cup final held in Manchester.

You haven't mentioned the green area beyond it. That was Manchester Racecourse. Her Majesty the late Queen had her first winner there. 🐎 Used for both national hunt and flat racing. The last big flat race of the season was held there customarily.
Racing was held there for two periods, inbetween it was held at New Barnes now Media City before returning. Racing had started at Kersal Moor in the 1600's. Salford City Football Club's Moor Lane ground nearby, is the oldest sports ground in the area apparently. W. G. Grace once played at Broughton Cricket Club.
Broughton Rangers as you infer was a Rugby League club that later played at Maine Road and Belle Vue. Broughton Park is the Rugby Union club.
I never knew about the racecourse, I will have a read up on that, we lived nearby when I first moved “north” in 2001 and this was actually my first ever drone video nearly 2 years ago, it was just a plain video with no captions or music so finally decided to do something with it. I remember Salfords Moor Lane well as I passed it everyday, nowadays of course it is the Peninsula Stadium and not as well received in the area as you would think judging by some of the comments my drone video got there.
@@cp-overview Well done, first video. The racecourses was famous and where Fred Done started his career . I think one of the St. Leger classic races was held there when Town Moor, Doncaster was unavailable. The Racecourse Hotel of course, and the Grandstand itself was only built 12 months before it closed. The Manchester November Handicap was traditionally the last big flat race of the season. You will know the first big flat race of the season was the Lincoln raced at the Carholme. After Lincoln and Manchester closed both races were transferred to Doncaster and still held.
Opposite the entrance to racecourse was the Albion Greyhound Racing Stadium.
You will probably know about White City near the Arts Exhibition site opened by Queen Victoria. It later staged a Rugby Union international and it too latterly was used as a greyhound racing stadium.
thats not all of it surely one of the biggest and richest teams on the planet have that as a training ground 🤣😂
They left there in 1999 and moved to Carrington, up until then that was it.
