Ahh, good memories! Winston Abraham was my favourite player and this match showcases his skill and selfless play beautifully!
The play @ ~10:40 highlights why Carey was, and always will be, the greatest player of all time. Outpointed 3 to 1 and he still makes something out of nothing. He kicked 727 goals and gave off at least 400 others.
This match takes me back to when i was a kid. I remember north looking down and out and i was completley shattered and then watching on as we found a way to win....the shinboner spirit!
I remember being at a mate’s engagement party this night and it was still about 35 degrees after the sun went down. I was the only North supporter there and everyone else was telling me to forget it that it was all over at three-quarter time. I replied “Hey this is North Melbourne and the game is never over. North will be there in the end.” They all laughed at me but I laughed at them at the final siren.

Very good side back then led by the duck, had a good season in 98. I can remember north just dominated from midway through the season till the gf but capitulated through poor kicking at goal. They should have won it in 98 as well. Don't know if anyone remembers but one match that stuck out for me was when they destroyed st kilda rd 15, the saints were on top of the ladder at that stage and north weren't in the top 4 yet.

What an Era.Would have liked to win the Day Grand Final.We deserved it.I still don't understand why Pagan didn't think about Jarman in the Second Half!!
Wayward kicking in the second quarter did us in more than Jarman.
