I disagree with the new players perspective. Every new players should get Ashen Mont, he alone only need odin and some earth vc + eventual jeume + whatever unit rainbow you can comp. Not made for mono earth IMO he is just amazingly rainbow element.
And who would be those teammates XD. PLUS the fucking vc bench for knight the good one's are limited or holo so half rate vs other off banner non esper vc's and the only non accessible one is melnia vc. While it's good it's not enough to carry a mid ass tag😂

I recommend ashen mont to a few new players because it's worth setting an anchor and spring jume is a general pool unit so pulling on his banner is good already, having most of the crystal units being solid to good pushes the banner over the edge for new players imo. Oldoa has been fun to use for me.
For new players, they can pull Queen Macherie lvl 120 from the 3 step and 140 her within a week for that duo. Also, they can pick up Sterne as well, 120 -> 140 in a week, and gain some knight synergy. Ashen Mont, Queen Macherie, and Winged Stern is a decent team out the gate for a newbie IMO!
Queen Macherie is outdated AF. Winged Sterne is very mid right now. Ashen King Mont is great but older players who have certain collab units(King Bradley) benefit from him most.

This is a wild argument. From a new players perspective, they are more than likely in a mid guild fighting other mid guilds. They aren't looking to "pop off" in a huge way and new players still have to learn about truststones and limited gear! There are so many barriers for top-level play it's unreal.
@@Xairos84 I agree. I did an alt not too long ago, and I was able to, once unlocked in the story, farm 20 shards, per day, for the lvl 120s I pulled (I went Amnelis, Macherie, and Glaciela). I didn't 140 all 3 due to limited resources, but I had the shards ready to go. A new player with a 120-140 team can begin contributing to a mid guild effectively within a few days if they grind. If they're casual, they'll miss that shard window I described above. I agree, again, regarding upper tier play. VCs, Espers. I have seen the exact same teams go head to head, only for the gear, VCs, etc to be the difference maker. 💯
Great breakdown. I have been wondering if it is still useful to do the stat comparison with the entire cast of characters. Have you looked at doing a trailing six months or at having a more recent cutoff(say at FMA for bradley)? You do tend to examine things from a high-end pvp level, and your graphs could then hide some relevent comparison with too many data points coming from irrelevent characters.
i have to disagree with the new player part. i get your angle but the unit is so good that it offset that aspect completly. Lets not forget that PVE is the most important part of the game ( to get event rewards, equipments, raids, etc ) and this unit alone will carry an account for the next year easy
I had to pity Ashen Mont in my two accounts...its the worst luck i had in a while.. but now i have all ashen ones except for Nlucio... overall i have been very lucky... he is the perfect ally for my 60 reincarnation max evade/luck URzazan.. The cold triangle of elements is certainly the strongest right now. Oldoa shuts down pre-Jeume physical damage pretty hard, and Jeume & Mont both have anti-magic in their kits. On the subject of knights, I mentioned in JB's video that part of me is expecting the new Lilyth to possibly end up being a wind knight to round out Mont's team, but I could be wrong.
I appreciate the attempt to argue for the new player, but I don't think a new player will care too much about the past, limited units. Odds are they will be in a mid guild fighting other mid guilds and their access to limited gear will bottleneck their ambition severely. Not to mention learning truststones. Mint's raw abilities will make them feel like their account actually is powerful. So I say newbies should get him.
I just ran an analysis of the AP Trust Stone set earlier actually, unfortunately I dont believe it does. He can only use two abilities before needing to basic attack whether he has the AP Set or not on (which is not enough offensively). It's also highly dependent upon whether or not one is using Dark Golem, with the 38% Acquired AP bonus. That's why I think the Mythgraven Blade is an option, because when you pair that with the AP Set, and get a full 30% Reduction of all abilities, then you actually start getting to a place where he can use an entire 3rd ability regardless of the Veritas TMR.
Don't discount queen macherie as a usable earth unit. With all her added buffs and some gear she sits at 70+ aoe/unit res in my earth comp. But it is an eye opener to really sit back and be like "yeah, most of the "op" earth units are limited"
Macherie is pretty bad unfortunately =/ I will discount her haha. Her re-raise is exceptionally easily removed, Magic Res is exceptionally high atm to stop her damage, and her AOE res isn't a strength anymore with how much AOE Crush there is. Sorry to rain on the parade =/ But as always, if it works where youre playing! Then that's legit 100% all that matters

But the way I see it, saying things like her aoe is bad is like saying everything in the game is bad(i.e. know point in building slash res when there's 80% slash pen, etc.). In magic the gathering terms, it's the same as saying "X creature is bad cuz it dies to path" when everything dies to path regardless. Itd be the same as saying unit res is pointless cuz units like king mont are such heavy hitters for unit res pen
@@ReadyPlayerWill i think your analysis is more based on top end guild vs guild or top 100 arena. most player dont really mind/care that much about pvp and mostly care about pve clearing content. many old units still perform very well in those circumstances.
If you build for PvP, you will win PvE along the way. I think it would be misleading for Will to give anything but a top 100 guild analysis considering that's what we know him to be at. Outside of top 1k in arena, or maybe top 400 in guild wars, you can really just do whatever the heck you want and you'll eventually be fine as your units hit level 140.

And your arguments conflictuate between themselves: if your argument is that new player should look/copy waht top 100 guilds are doing because its gonna help them in pve at the same time, telling new player to not pull the one unit that will be in top pvp for the next few months is contradictory. Amont himself will carry new accounts for the next year, telling new players to skip is wrong in my opinion
I see your POV in not recommending to newer players(clearly comments dont see). He is a great unit will do work but to unlock full potential need some things. Bradley, non-negotiable. Halloween Lucio. Halloween VC, Neir holo VC, FMA VC, and Dark Titan VC.
Im sure by your logic that new earth units and vc are dead extinct and we will never got new earth units in the lifespan of the game😂 New players got a ton of vis and good UR pulls and ashen go well with 100 cost units rainbow team on pve and pvp below 5000 extremely well. I saved vis for months and got him to 140+ in the first day! I've never done that before as a free player.
You say to spend vis elsewhere if you're a new player... But you didn't say "where" would be better.

I use an AP trust stone set and it counters the wind Veritas tmr really well just saying
