How to fix Cub Cadet LT1045 from Throwing Belts

my neighbor has one . i bent a bracket on left (as sitting on the rider) to pitch the idler pulley a little diagonally . now it better lines up with engine and left side spindle . hasn't thrown the belt in 2 years . commenter in another vid said to raise deck to highest setting before disengaging pto . tried it before my mods , and it also seemed to work .
I first tried starting at the highest position but it never stayed on. I also tried bending mine I couldn't get it to stay on.

Thank you so much for your post. After a year of fighting the belt coming off and trying everything, your solution worked. I bought the kit at the end of last year season, installed it during winter. Been mowing for 5 months and works great. I do have to admit I only go to 2 setting as if I go to 1, it has came off 2 times in a certain hilly situation.

At 16:45 you can see the original diagram of how the belt was run. Its amazing the center blade turned under load because the belt was barely contacting the pulley! I believe I have the 3rd gen deck because i have the 2 different size idlers. Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome. IDK how they didn't get returns on this with the design. I think everyone that bought these might have bought them used not knowing as I did.

where r u guys buying these kits? I've seen multiple comments saying folks found it but Google has no idea / I don't need the manual yet lol
@@hulkgamecrit9218 Try www.eckrothequipment.com they might of stop making this kit? It was 3 years ago I got mine but still someone has to have them.
@TheCleaner6969 do you recall the name of the actual kit? Google relies on using unique identifiers when helping to show parts or kits so sadly things like "belt kit" won't give you anything online unless someone *really* screws up ( like tesla ruining every car they ever made levels of screw up )before google instantly understands us lol
(yeah couldn't find anything on link, their website also wasnt designed for that too sadly)

I have that deck and had issues with the belt coming off. The idler pulley had a small dent in it. Not enough to cause a problem , I thought!
Well replaced the he idler pulley and it solved the problem .
You were lucky mine had nothing wrong.

The belt gets stretched and needs replaced. They last about a season for me, unless I push it.
Brand new belts popped off for me. It's a known problem with these.
Just my experience i guess. I worked on the pulleys a few times before changing the belt starting working.

I agree these new lawnmowers are sorry machines. Ive got a 96 lowes mtd that could eat these new ones

Couldn't you just go with a wider pulley and the 118 belt ? Mine calls 122 but that would make sense to why mine is popping off

You're welcome. Yep if you have the 2nd gen the just pick up the kit & you'll be good to go.

Yes I'm happy to say it is. You won't have any problems if you follow my video. I suggest not setting the deck lower then #3 though.
Does this work for the LT1042 as well?
I'm not sure. Does it have the same pulley setup? Are they known to have the same problem?

I cannot find the kit in usa they sell in canada but will not ship to usa? any suggestions?
I been hearing no one can find this kit. I been suggesting calling Eckroth Brothers Farm Equipment. That's where I got mine.
Do you know which of the 3 decks a 2007 cub cudet zero turn rzt 42 in has?
I'm hesitant to say because sometimes things could be changed. I would call Cub Cadet or go to www.eckrothequipment.com & call them. Tell them what you have & they will ask you for some #'s on the zero turn & you'll be sure to the the right parts.
Could you post a picture of the full service list please? I noticed that maybe I can find just the items I need off the parts list
