Being the “Doctor” friend is even worst when you aren’t an actual doctor. I’m a pharmacy technician who is going to Pharmacy school in the fall. The amount of times I’ve had my friends ask “can I take this? Is it bad I’ve taken 3x the recommended dose of this medication? What should I do for this rash/random pain/ actual medical problem? The answer is you need to go to an actual doctor, and please stop taking more then the recommended doses of stuff.
ok but like doctors are expensive, especially when you don't even know if your sick. maybe you should be more nice to your friends instead of being condescending.

@Master of Hyrule As a pharmacy technician I am not qualified to give medical advice, even about medications. While I do have a good knowledge of medications, I don’t know everything, and partial knowledge can be more deadly then total ignorance. For instance, the max daily dose of Advil is usually 2400 mg (about 12 tablets) However, if my friend is on other medication containing NSAIDs or they have kidney issues, giving that advice could lead to an overdose or kidney damage. I usually direct my friends to either a pharmacist (which is usually free to consult with) or help them find an affordable way to address their needs such as a free clinic.
