Hello, Mike and blessing to you and the family. Finding info about fertilizer and was very bless to find your channel. Love and loved working with my landscaping and my Roses and learning about others flowers plants. Always wanted to learn about cuttings and using the rooting compound, Mike, thanks,! for your videos and sharing your wisdom. I will be making this project soon. When I search and find your area, I will be coming to see your plants at your nursery and giving you a little of business. Blessings!!!
mike i was watching this video and thought i would find out on the hardwood cuttings which one did best sand or the compost? i am fixing to do some grape cuttings here in alabama. I have some peatmoss and some worm dirt that i am going to root them in.
Would this method work for propagating rose cuttings throughout the winter? also, when you stack those boxes, are both filled with medium, or is the bottom only used for elevation?
I have picked up some glass paned windows for dirt cheap and was wondering if I could use the window over the box instead of plastic? I would paint the glass white...would this be a suitable alternative?
Here in Pittsburg Missouri, can I do anything with Spring peonies, English Ivy, and Honeysuckle for starts? Husband had the green thumb, he died of Cancer 4 years ago. The property and plants have become my life and interest and really love the results. Your awesome when this Virus is over, going to make the trip to your nursery in Ohio..your a blessing, thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Hey Mike, I'm coming to Ohio to sew that strap on your overalls, LOL. In the mean time, based on your results, what would you do differently? Sand? Potting soil? I'm thinking of doing this with blueberry canes.
Have you used that duct tape before on plastic? IDK id was just mine or what but I used duct tape a couple years ago for same reason and plastic rotten out from under it and broke off at edges of tape, Anyone else have that happen.
Mikes BackyardNursery can I take cuttings of I'm my dogwood tree and just put them on in Potts of potting mix and if so do I leave them until marching to move them

Good video! Something I'd like to try. Those nailers are sometimes called "gang nails".

How did the propagation box turn out? Did you make a follow up video?
Could i use plastic totes to start out with ?

I believe peonies must be propagated by root division. The honeysuckle and ivy can be started by cuttings.
whats better sand or dirt
How do you feel about adding bottom heat for difficult to root cuttings
Do you have to sterilize your sand between plantings?
soil or sand?

Mike, what was the result of this experiment? Which side grew better, the sand or the hardwood mulch? Most of us can't afford hardwood mulch,....
His latest videos show him using sand. So, I am guessing sand is still superior.

That’s how I make my 4x8 raised beds… minus the tops. 👵🏻👩🌾❣️
In South Africa called...."nail plates"......
Hmm. ... but that doesn't let any light at all in to it does it? I would think that's a problem??
Is it ok if a hardwood cutting gets snowed on? Or should it be covered like in this video
It is perfectly fine for a hardwood cutting to be covered in snow.
Ryan Pearre
Why did it need to be double stacked? Seams like a waste of material for tiny cuttings?
when is the best time for emerald green arborvitaes?
hardwood cuttings are best, after the first or second hard frost.
