I just bought a 2024 Y dual motor Stealth Grey demo in Canada with 1000km. 62k price 9k in rebate 25k for the trade in (2018 m3 rear wheel with 76k km) and 10k down. Financed 25k and utilized the fsd transfer. We bought end of Feb and got 10k tesla points for accessories. They tried to take off 7k from the trade in after fds was transfered but the sales guy at the tesla dealership made them honor what they said through the app. I'm pretty happy ☺️

The Model 3 came down by a couple thousand after Highland was officially announced in the US as they were trying to get rid of old inventory. I bought my inventory Model 3 in June saving a couple thousand dollars, but if I had waited until Highland was officially announced it would have been a couple thousand even less.
Rivian prices will go up, delivery will be delayed, and range will decrease.

the new 3 has been out in US in both standard and long range variants, unless you're talking about the performance model 3 that is still not yet released
in a cutting edge industry where automotive meets technology things are ever evolving, don't put off buying a 3/Y based on what will eventually be... you'll always be waiting.
most people coming from any mid-higher end car pre 2015 are going to be wow'd eitherway.
Additionally competitor's EVs just do not compete in neither range, nor features - and thats before we even begin speaking about possible future updates in the way of EAP/FSD or even just OTA upgrades for the car.
Agreed. I bought my MYLR last October and was able to get 3.99% financing from my credit union. If I waited a day longer, they told me it would have been 4.99%. Today, you're lucky to get 6%. Then I got the $7,500 tax credit. Why wait for a juniper refresh that may or may not happen this year? Would I have liked a screen in the back and ventilated seats? Sure. But no matter when you buy, there will always be new stuff coming around the corner.
Buying a premium car without 800V, HUD, V2L/V2G in 2024/2025 is just dumb. Teslas are hella outdated and build quality is below average. Get an 800V vehicle from a well known premium manufacturer and you are future-proof

I think it depends on how much of the car is manufactured in the US. I think it might have to do with the battery packs. i'm not 100% on this though. it's late for me so feel free to update or respond to this comment and i'll check tomorrow morning when my brain is braining again.
Those looking at any of the non-Tesla options better due their homework really well on the local charging networks condition. Just because EA or another charge network indicates a fast charger is in your area doesn't mean it works. Go to those chargers around you before buying an EV and ask people what they are really experiencing...check out how busy they are at different times of day and weekends.
Does anyone know why Tesla does not seem to be delivering any new Model 3 "Re-engineered" with white interior?? I ordered one Jan. 10th and the EDD keeps getting pushed back. I also still have not seen or heard of white interior being delivered, RWD or AWD.

I love that there are many more EV's coming out, and at more affordable prices. I just hope the public charging infrastructure can keep up with the demand to avoid excessively long lines.
I took delivery of my LR today on the hottest day of the year so far and I can agree, the cooled seats are amazing.
i daydream about cooled/vented seats. getting some soon. and probably one of those water-cooled bed covers. recent promotion and a small but meaningful pay bump making HUGE improvements.
I drove a new model 3 last friday while I was at the service center getting an issue with my model y fixed. I didnt expect to be blown away, but I was! Its excellent. I couldnt get over how quiet and smooth it was. The cooled seats are a game changer 😁

I’m old enough to remember the ruckus when Japan entered the market. Germany is in meltdown over the Chinese but the same thing happened in the seventies. Nobody thinks about buying Japanese now. My last car was a Chinese EV, the MG ZS. It was great. I’m driving an Ioniq 6 now. I could have had a Mach e but the build, handling and ride were appalling. None of the European OEMs offered anything close to what Hyundai, BYDand MG were offering me.
I think one of those software updates is that you need to have your key card to start your car every single time. And that is a pain in the butt.
The Honda is just a rebadged Chevy Blazer. Honda said it is going to make it's own after this partnership. I'll pass on the Honda until they make their own. I don't trust Chevrolet anymore.
used model y performance comes with full self driving, and long range all wheel drive comes with performance boost.
BYD already sells buses here, for whatever reason they've chosen not to sell automobiles here. In my opinion, that's a foolish error in judgement on their part because there's a huge market below the M3 that has limited options which would allow BYD to get a large beach head into the US. I know for me, I was hoping to get a M3 but when the tax credit went away so did me thinking about the M3. I'd consider a MY, but I need an OTD price of $35K, which is a few grand below Tesla's current prices.

Great news with lights! I wish Tesla could adjust that when in the CC mode, the speed adjustment down is very abrupt and swift making the driving less comfortable, it don't need to bee so swift. Also when taking over on the highway, why does it 'brake' even when you are using the blinker, thereby avoiding immidiate danger as thecar sees it atleast. Small adjustments that would all give a better ride. 😊

Byd already is in the US. They just are not bringing consumer vehicles, at this time.

Insurances in the UK don’t like BYD due to lack of service or repair facilities.
R3 concept car turning the corner at a California gas station with gasoline over $5/gallon should stimulate a few thoughts about going electric.
Tesla should buy Canoo ASAP. They have some great design. They just need help with lowering manufacturing costs, and Tesla is an expert at that.
Lowering those manufacturing costs would likely require a complete redesign to be at Tesla's standards. There is already a van in the pipeline for Tesla, unless Canoo has something revolutionary tech wise, I don't see the acquisition happening.
BYD can totally rely on Volvo's experience to enter the US market selling EVs.

If BYD can slash the price of their cars that low with NO GOVERNMENT INVOLVEMENT, then Tesla in Shanghai should be able to do the similar. Seriously, what is it that BYD can do so much differently than other manufacturers that they can keep that price so low with similar qualities? Obviously, they are not making their cars with cardboards. This is one thing we all should question so that we don't end up overpaying for things.
Btw, just found out the BYD's recent price cut was due to Xiaomi EVs. I expect further prices cuts in EVs in global scale.
What can they do differently? Questionable safety, questionable work environment/health, take a loss on every vehicle to undercut…. List could go on.

If BYD is building their cars cheap I’m sure they’re lacking in many aspects such as safety, quality and features. Tesla, Ford, GM and other top manufacturers have higher safety scores than BYD. I wouldn’t want to be in an accident in a 9K BYD car. There is a reason why we have safety tests.

nice to see all these EV's coming out. to bad Tesla is the only company with a charging network. but they're the ones who spent BIG on the network. it's the reason i'm going to lease a model Y in the next couple of months instead of another EV. (plan is to lease an EV, keep my ice car, not need my ice car, sell it and go pure EV)

The loss of the turn signal stalk is a mistake and downright dangerous on a high volume model without steer by wire.
I'm holding on to my 2022 Model Y, has everything and keeps the Stalks and parking sensors.
They didn't need to update the parking assist for those with sensors. Now if they can just fix the automatic wipers without taking off the wipers. lol
I test drove the 2024 Model 3 and the lack of stalks was a concern for me but after only a few minutes I adapted and now prefer no stalks. We have a 2022 Model 3 and will trade it in for the new version before the end of the year.
Well, I test drove the new Mod3, and I dont like the way I have to shift the car. I did get into R with the over head console shifting pad. Kind of scary. No stalk steering wheel dont get my hype.
Except they’ve done it in S/X S for 3 years and most customers love it.

I test drove a Highland on Monday. The ONLY thing about it I liked and would LOVE to have on my '19 M3P is the double-paned glass. THAT is a huge quality upgrade. Every other upgrade I wasn't a fan of. The no stalks? Deal breaker. The cheap interior plastics? Deal breaker. The cooled seats that are MUCH harder and less comfortable? Deal breaker. The buttons on the steering wheel that are difficult to press? Deal breaker. Tesla is really taking steps backwards in the quality of the materials used in their cars, IMO.

A worrisome whitewashing of the Apple scandal. It appears that you've lost your edge in terms of critical journalism. Perhaps you did not want to disappoint or agitate the Apple fans?
This was a $10 billion boondoggle without the production of a single real prototype. Many people made tens of millions of dollars within Apple on this doomed venture, which emerged from Apple's grandiosity and lack of real appreciation for how difficult it would be for a software company to produce a car.
And looks as though Tim Cook's grandiosity, lack of appreciation for what Tesla had already accomplished, underestimation of how difficult that was, and just general ignorance about automotive technology doomed the enterprise. When someone has a naive and grandiose notion of what they can accomplish, they often times bite off more than they can chew.
Sorry but you get a major thumbs down on this one. Journalists are supposed to critically evaluate sources and information and not simply regurgitate advertising and press releases.

I don't like EVs at all, but what bothers me the most is:
● I don't like crossover cars at all!
● Just one screen in the middle, no thanks!
• One screen can be in the middle, but there must be another screen behind the steering wheel!
● In general, the chassis design of EV cars is weird.
• Everything is too round like a spaceship. It's not a normal car shape anymore, and that's why to me EVs are ugly.
Yes, I know that due to this shape, the consumption of electricity is lower, but EVs cars are ugly!
Of course, there is more... the weight of the car, etc. 🙂
