The BEST Ram TRX Air Intake! CPS Cold Air Intake Review! LOUD Supercharger Whine!

- This is how the Ram TRX should have come from the factory. The money saved with the SLPs over a full exhaust lands us a new Air Intake for the Hellcat. The TRX with the CPS Intake lets the supercharger breath better and louder. Lets recap this intake and my initial impressions.
The supercharger whine is much louder then the AFE and the S&B intakes. Several people have made the switch for the sound gains. Makes me fall in love with my TRX all over again. This is a must do mod for your Ram TRX.

Of all the intakes that retain the factory hood airflow, this is the loudest. Love the sound! What do you think?
just ordered one last week !! thanks for the video !!!
We need more TRX content!
Dat sweet sound!
Definitely going to order this for my TRX
Man that is insane love the whine🔥🔥😎
Thanks man. Whines louder on a stock truck. Exhaust drowns it out a little.
I like the sound for sure. I have my air filter off right now getting ready for a sound comparison between the the s&b and afe. Weather has not been permitting last couple of days. The raw unmuffled sounds is just heart racing. I got the hydro blue. No regrets on color. Have other stuff in the works as well. Got the break kit from same outfit. That’s definitely the most expensive mod. I hope it makes a huge difference. No one’s done any reviews for that. I’m interested in the innerchiller that ripatuned came out with but this kind of setup would get in the way with it.
Lots of cool mod options for the TRX or sure. I wish the truck made the pure no filter sound but this is about as close I think I can get.
That's a pretty dope set up! Definitely sounds lower than the AFE!
Yep. Its obnoxious on the outside.
I had B-Woody on both Trackhawks and Hellcat! Super loud whine
They are probably the loudest intake but I don't like that its an exposed filter sucking in hot air and they don't use the hood scoop. I haven't seen or heard a bwoody on a TRX in person but seems like rain water would just dump on the engine without proper routing.
@@JumpSquadAuto true!
I ordered the 2023 before the 3k price jump! With 8k off msrp Let’s goo! white base model thinking rippa twin Turbo kit! 850whp work truck for less than 90k not too bad
Thats would be an insane build. Great to have got in before the price increase. I was so upset I missed getting an order in before
Are you going to upload an install video? You convinced me but there aren’t any CPS install videos out there.
I don't have an install video planned right now. I put the stock intake parts in storage. If you follow the instructions from AFE or S&B to take the stock intake out, this ones pretty straight forward to install from there. If someone local is installing this intake, I will try to get out there and film the process.
Sounds epic. Screw turbo whistle. Old school blower sound is the best.
Thanks for watching!
I also have this intake on my 21 trx would be really interested if you can do a video of intake temps and also if you found a better solution to securing the ITsensor and the breather hose thanks.
I've put about 5000 miles on the intake and the neither sensor hasn't fallen out. just wrap some electrical tape around the base to make the sensor base thicker to fit in snug. About all that needs to be and can be done.
@Jump Squad - Auto Ill have to try that instead have Teflon on them right now and still to loose. thanks for the advice
i used the orange gourmet and it was snug @@freddygarcia5710
Your friends who switched from afe to this cps did they notice any performance differences? Did you notice any more power?
Neither of us noticed much of a difference in performance cross the intakes nor did he with afe. Truck makes way too much power for 10hp-15hp to really be felt. They all also make most of their gains well below the powerband and so the real big gain is sound.
Yeah the prices are keeping me from grabbing a 23. I got an amazing deal on my 22 ($12k off msrp) and the only reason I waited was for the UC5. No real reason to spend more money on a 23. Might as well enjoy it lol
Yeah I am in a similar boat. UC4 is fine for me. The digital dash for 23 is the only real upgrade but not worth spending upwards of 15k to move up
@@JumpSquadAuto yeah man it’s crazy. I just specked the same truck I have online. 11k more since I ordered 9/2021.
Keep us posted on that intake. It caught my eye and I think I’ll pull the trigger on it when I get back to the states.
@@JohnsonMedia So far so good. It souns awesome and haven't had any issues. Re checked all the hardware and apart from the few fitment concerns in the video, love it so far.
How do we order and from where, my friend? thank you In advance❤️
I bought mine from Solis racing. Search for cps intake on their site
Honest question here - obviously you have some sort of business relationship with Solis, so there's that... But that aside: between the suspect AC line, IAT sensor, the $700 price point, and per their website "+15whp +13wtq" --- why should someone choose to modify their TRX with this intake over the the aFe momentum GT? The aFe unit on-sale right now for $655, has no fitment/rubbing issues (I have one on my TRX for about 10k miles now), and even with a SAE correction factor slightly favoring the baseline runs aFe performed, their intake still added +33whp and +19wtq per the dyno chart - which I have no trouble believing. I immediately noticed a 1-1.5mpg increase under normal driving, and per Dragy shaved off about a tenth in the 0-60, and 2-3 tenths in the 1/4, and picked up 1-2mph on average (probably did like 10-15 runs before and after lol). Also weird why Solis cut their dyno pulls short by about 700-800RPM.. Makes me wonder if their intake was choking out up top?
So honestly, it's looking like the only marginal and subjective "upside" with the CPS intake is that the blower whine *might* be a little louder, but otherwise the CPS intake looks to be inferior in every way regarding fitment and actual performance versus the aFe Momentum GT. And the mostly metal CPS intake is possibly heavier too - on a vehicle that already needs to go on a diet haha. We need to see someone completely unbiased collect some data on all these intake options for the TRX.
Umm...I have no relationship with Solis. It's just where I bought the intake frame. Solis also doesn't make the intake CPS does. In terms of performance and fitment...afe makes a better quality intake...but on a 702hp truck a hp or two is counting pennies and insignificant difference. The sound diffrence is huge. I've got multiple friends who switched from AFE and S&B to CPS for the sound alone. If my review was biased why would I outline some of the flaws in the system. None of the fitment issues are a deal breaker and easily manageable. After almost 8k miles on the intake....LOVE IT.
@@JumpSquadAuto Bro, even the video title is "The BEST Ram TRX Air Intake." But then in reply to me, you admit the aFe unit is better, despite extremely downplaying the aFe's higher (more than double the whp) performance gains. Lol I don't even know what to say other than TRX owners should avoid this intake if they want the non-subjective best gains. Jump on that aFe sale right now!
@@Matt-tt4cu Sounds like you are married to AFE lol. CPS is overall the best sounding intake of the ones I heard that still provides good heat shielding. I don't know a single person that went from CPS to AFE but know multiple people who went from AFE to CPS. If you want sound and a functional intake CPS is where its at. If you want that extra 5 feet on the quarter mile and fractional milisecond on the 0-60 then go AFE. Im not bashing either cause I think both offer something the other doesn't.
@@JumpSquadAuto Wtf are you talking about? Of course nobody has gone CPS to aFe - the CPS intake has been around for what, like 4-5 months with extremely limited availability... On top of that, monetized YT channels like yours publish video's with clickbait titles (gotta make that YT money) making the same false claims the manufacturer does. They can't even claim "best for the money" as it's currently more expensive than aFe and the same price as the S&B unit - which also makes more power than this junk. Calling the CPS the "best" is a flat out lie. It should say: "better at making more noise than the competition." Lmao, get real dude.
@@Matt-tt4cu Go home Karen, you sound like a douche.
@Jump Squad - Auto Thanks for the informative video... I'm debating between this, JMB and BWoody, love that whine!
Would this void my bumper to bumper warranty lol
Haha. Approaching 2 years so not a lot of bumper to bumper left for me
