Taking a look at the most recent trade in the NHL that sent Timo Meier, Scott Harrington, Santeri Hatakka, Zacharie Ămond, Timur Ibragimov, and a 5th round draft pick from the San Jose Sharks to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for Fabian Zetterlund, Shakir Mukhamadullin, Andreas Johnsson, Nikita Okhotiuk, two 1st round draft picks and a 7th round pick.

As a sharks fan, the Devils won the trade. Meier is gonna be great for them and I don't think we got enough.
I think both sides won the trade. Devils got a guy who can help them in the playoffs and the sharks got a few guys who project to be top 4 line players. Consider the fact that Timo is technically a rental right now with his contract expiring at the end of this season. Getting what they got for a player they wouldn't resign anyway is a lot. They would have lost him for nothing in July.. see Parise
Meier and hischier literally played together this off-season internationally. And they were teammates in juniors
I know they played together on Swiss team, totally forgot they played together on Halifax too! VERY cool

Man zetterlund was just starting to gain some good momentum in NJ. Sure he wasnât the best player on that roster but he was young and had time to grow into his role. He is a solid/gritty player. He played kinda similar to danis Zubrus if anyone remembers himđ. But hopefully his career takes off in SJ.

I don't understand how SJ couldn't get more value than that, especially with the cap retention and throwing in a 5th. That last contract raising the qualifying offer was bad but they could still afford it with their thin roster
Good trade for both teams imo, Sharks probably had no chance of keeping Timo and in that case they need to trade him.

Even though the Devils have been frontrunners for Timo Meier for weeks, I still had my doubts whether or not New Jersey would be able to land him, especially if they were trying to hold onto both Mercer and Nemec in the process.
I'm very happy and excited about this coup of a trade, now they have to try to extend both him and Jesper Bratt in the coming months.
As a sharks fan I'm not gonna complain but boy this is already a win for the Devil's. We didn't really get a top prospect but still got something for someone who probably wasn't going to stay past next season.

Ea doesnt Even recognize Meier from Hertl they have Meier as power forward and Hertl as Sniper...
Meier is like 6'1 and Hertl is 6'3, they had Hertl as 6'3 until last roster update they made him also 6'1. EA wtf??
Just checked Mukhamadullin stats, and I think he has played very good this season at the KHL. I think Sharks got nice future top 4 D

Nice trade, but if Kane goes to NYR, I see then winning the whole thing. Sure grit and depth is key, but game winning goals, clutch goals, reliable offensive pressure, can't top that.

This is proof that franchise mode trading is the most unrealistic thing imaginable. Maybe next year they program a better system. I don't think a single real-life trade could go through on this current system unless someone got fleeced, like Tampa Bay did.

Why do you use EAâs roster for trade videos instead of your custom roster I know itâs not done but yours is way better than EAâs and is there anything you can do so that people on PS4 can download your roster when itâs finished

@@Jasper-Holland Idk he's been pretty damn good in the KHL and wants to come up to North America soon. He's a big body defensive defenseman which we desperately needed same with Nikita. Zetterlund also has potential to be a stable bottom six solution which we desperately needed and hell if we're lucky enough Johnsson could have a resurgence too. We also have draft picks now and the 2024 is a high pick regardless of the condition. Stop basing everything off emotion and step back and look at the big picture
