Shingo didn't hold back on how his father never respected his life choice and basically controlled his whole life like a puppet with strings attached all over his body ever since he was born. Good thing his arranged marriage partner turned out to be the girl he was hitting on and hopefully the marriage between Shingo and Ayane ends in a happy day.
I like how dumb founded the dad was at the end. After seeing his son be so resolute in his decision and even supporting him. His son not only accepting the marriage but they seem to know each other too. I can only imagine his going internally ,"WTF going on here!?"

Frankly, the Father seems the type to do far, far worse things if his son disobeyed him to _that_ extent. He wouldn't even let his son turn down the blind date unless a legally binding arrangement was made to ensure the company's future whether the son's there or not.
Son would be lucky if the Father didn't just reveal multiple other families whose offspring he had, on reserve, in case bro refused completely.

Man, I really felt sorry for the MC. I know what it's like to have a domineering parent. My mom was like that. I finally got fed up with it and cut ties with her and my family and went my own way. But not everybody is strong enough to do that. And in a society like Japan's that still follows a lot of the old traditions, breaking away from a domineering parent, especially one that has the power and influence to drag you back or block your attempts at being your own person, that would suck. The kind of mindset his father has is a contributing factor for the high suicide rate amongst Japan's young people. As more and more young people rebel against traditions that allows parents to control them like puppets, the suicide rate has gone up for the ones who aren't strong enough to go against their parents.
Yeah all the MC has to do is cut ties with his father and skip town to another city. His father can *try* to drag him back, but there's this cool thing called The Law. If the MC properly utilizes it and his rights, his father won't be able to touch him

People with power and status like his father can not only send people to find him and bring him back, but, if he doesn't want to physically bring him back, he can use his influence to make it impossible for his son to make a living, forcing his son to come crawling back. What is it with people vehemently against arranged marriage that actually have chemistry between the 2? She went out of her way to get to know the guy without being flirtatious or overbearing when he didn't know she was the one he was planned to go on a blind date with. And was genuinely wanting to know more about him on a personal level asking his past like from his friend, HS he went to and his deceased mother and going to places with cherished memories to the MC and eventually got him to open up about his past. She did not want to marry someone she doesn't know so she made the first move to get to know the MC for that. Maybe the MC is a bit of a wimp but not everyone is strong enough to go against their circumstances. It's finding the good things in life inspite of it is what I find endearing.

It was great seeing Shingo and Ayane get to know one another before the they became a couple, and it was sweet how they truly fell in love with one another and are marrying on their terms, not Shingo's selfish father's behalf.
And the father's dumbfounded face at the end was priceless. He completely lost control of the situation when Shingo and Ayane already knew one another and are marrying on their terms and not his.

She was just smart enough to find out what kind of person he was. If he had been some selfish prick she would have walked in and told them I'm not going to marry this man. But, after spending the day with him and the two of them liking each other, she was excited to go to the blind date and let him know that she approved of marrying him. When you "bamboozle" someone, you force them to do something they don't want to do. After meeting her, he liked her. It may have surprised him to find out the girl he liked was his blind date, but nobody forced him to marry her. And she didn't "trick" him into marrying her against his will. She gave him the option to refuse when she walked into the room. When you get "bamboozled", you're not given an option.

So in the end he essentially DID follow orders to the letter despite the entire episode basically hyping him forcing his freedom . This episode literally went nowhere and quite BS. Kanon, you can do better and you know that. (Also hate all-knowing brides-to-be deceiving and "researching" their partners right in front of him while he's none the wiser in the dark. So F-ed up.) Should've split on principle and run away starting a new life. If she manages to come back, make her earn your heart the right way and go from there.

I'll be honest. I don't like this ending. The father is still getting what he wants, and the son yet again has to go along with his father's selfish actions. He wasn't doing this for the sake of his employees, because if he was doing it for such a reason, he wouldn't for his son into a marriage without love, that's the easiest way to burn down the company. He should have tried to build his son to love the company.

I'm not sure how to feel about that ending. He's still under his dad's boot, still working for him, still dependent on him. Even an extra 30 seconds of "Dad really wasn't happy when I left the company, and my new wife helped me get away from him" Would be better than this. It's a really sweet ending, but didn't really solve the problem of his dad being a dick. I see people in the comments saying "So glad he rebelled! So much growth!" He didn't rebel. The marriage is still going through, dad is still getting money from her family, MC's only win here is getting a new, healthy relationship that doesn't solve his issues with his father

The boy lacked a figure who taught him the right way to assert his will.
By now he was resigned to doing everything his father ordered him to do.
Luckily he met a girl who was somehow interested in him, let him vent and convinced him to react appropriately to his father's requests.
After he opposes in the right way, the father seems to support his choice, but in doing so seems to make him promise to find a more economically advantageous solution for the company.
The father was lucky that his son did not want to end all relationships with him or even worse, take over the company and make it go bankrupt within a few months.
The father probably didn't even do it maliciously, maybe he didn't know how to communicate with his son after his wife's death and therefore he related to him in the only way he knew how, that is, by commanding him.

It would be interesting to know the girl's life, whether she also suffered what happened to the protagonist or whether she had a more normal relationship with her family.
Also understand how her father proposed the arranged marriage to her, whether he forced it on her or whether he actually proposed it to her.
She says that after knowing that he would be the person she was happy.
And he was probably told this quite some time beforehand since he was out there trying to get to know the area better.

Not gonna lie, I kinda of want a story on the ex girlfriend instead. Also, the dad got everything he wanted.
Honestly, i am very conflicted about this story many people almost everyone liked it but... Few point make it complicated for me.
1. MC want to be free and go aginst his wishes just once by not going with his arrangements. But FL took that only chance from him.
2. MC fall too fast her.Feel like slightly manipulated, she wanted test his fiance does MC have no right to test fiance,like she know about him so she shows her best but he didn't he was genuinely helping her. It sounds unfair to me.
3. She ask about every minute detail about him but she never tell him about herself.. I dont know she even shows her true colors. As i already said she know him so she might change her personality what if she was spooky rich brat or something like that....

I think any family that doesnt at least wnat their own child to be successful in life by walkign their own path is a joke. And any that force their children into a arranged marriage are just using their offspring for their own gain even if it does insure others still continue to have jobs. Parents can be pathetic and forcing anything onto their own children for their own gain is really pathetic but at least this had a twist where his future wife was someone he was able to connect with before knowing she was his date. Only other issue is he knows near to nothing about her and yet is all in on love with her yet she wanted to know what he was like. Seems like he is being stupid on that part fallign for someone he knows nothign of yet tells her everythign about himself so at least they will have time to get to know each other more before she graduates.
