When my friends Kat and Dre asked me to help them design their condo entryway, I thought it would be a great opportunity to show you guys ALL the behind the scenes craziness on how we pull off room makeovers from start to finish! From using procreate for the initial design, to site visits, to home decor shopping and finally pulling it together on entryway room makeover install day, this is the nitty gritty on how we do what we do each week. lol a good reaction for once. i feel like you really have to get to know someone to make them a great space to live in. otherwise its like homemakeover where the kid is like "i like crocodiles" and they make the entire room a literal replica swamp

You really just need to ask the right questions tbh. And you learn to 'translate' answers by customers after a while. I have a Master's degree in Interior Architecture and a Bachelor in Architecture...finished in 2012 and you'll get better at it with time.
@cosma cosma I get that. Not Knocking anyones professional work. I think I just mean on a more personal level, tiny details, specific objects, some things are only collectively understood over time. Also their audience/clientele is on the younger side/college age so their needs and wants would be different than say a working professional, business, or family.
This is my Favorite episode. The whole "behind the scene working on a space" is a quintessential DIY. Thank you and please more of this.

I wonder if the price was like "oh I could do this for 250... but they will say no..so I'll add extra frilly over-the-top stuff and jack up the price to 800 😉 so naturally 250 will be a much better option!!" I'm not saying thats how it's done with TSG. But some companies do that.

Etching Cream! Thats what you needed with the vinyl!! It works on glass, I would assume it would work on the mirror.

She cut out a stencil with the words, stuck it to the mirror and sprayed bleach on it! (she painted it too I think but you could leave it like that) and I guess that's it! :)
Going with paint, but not peel and stick wallpaper feels backwards to me. Peeling it off when you go to move is way easier than repainting. IDK. That's my thinking.

I am so glad I watched this video! I was starting to question my interior design skills and talent because I took so long designing my own home, but when I am doing a job for someone else I kick it into gear just like you did here! I almost lost my confidence since I haven't worked in a few years and took so long in remodeling and with thevinterior design of my new home? Thanks for confirming for me that we don't lose it, we just are creative in different time tables during different times and jobs, if you want them done spectacularly... Wonderfully done and I am sure with a friendly budget. I just love it!

haha is it weird that i kind of like it? the apartment i'm in right now doesn't have a hallway at all, and i wish i had all that winding space to store shoes
lol huge condos like this are done by contractors that are just trying to squeeze in as many units as possible
@@Anyutaak I kinda like it too. The winding hallway makes the actual living spaces seem more private. I'd probably fill the hallway up with plants so it feels like a jungle getaway or something lol

The bench+cushion, dark teal wall, mustard rug, and corner shelves are fabulous. I would have gone for closed shoe storage (hate seeing shoes).

it sucks but that's just kind of what you have to do in apartments :/ most of the avaliable space is vertical so it's a catch-22 of 'do i put holes in the walls i have to patch up or do i not have any place to hang things/shelf storage'

This video low key came at the perfect time. I actually just painted a room for the first time, and I did on my own completely and it was haaard let me tell you (especially since I’m a tiny girl) but it was so worth it. I also had a design vision and planned out everything and it looks so good! I highly recommend that anyone in the comments who was considering doing over a room try it, so worth it!!
