I was stationed at Chanute AFB for 6 months …we’re getting F-35s (22) (104th FW/131st FS) here in Western Massachusetts….the F-15s are gonna be upgraded to the EX and dispersed to other F-15 Air Guard Units…My dad is retired F-105B pilot from 355th FS Moody AFB Ga. , we moved back to Massachusetts where he joined Massachusetts Air National Guard Full-Time and flew F-86,F-100, A-10A and then retired in 1997 Full-Bird with 32 yrs. AirForce ..unfortunately he has Alzheimer’s now (2yrs) and his memory is really starting to deplete…Great Video! Look up 104th FW/131stFS Westfield Massachusetts! Keep Videos coming!
Thank you for your service. That's pretty neat about getting that many F-35s! I have heard about the F-15 EX models heading out to some places, didn't know where. Pretty neat about him being a pilot and flying those. My dad wanted to fly, but couldn't due to eyesight so he served as a doctor and a flight surgeon. 21 years in the Air Force with his full bird as well. His dad trained pilots in WW1, flew cargo (C-47) in Korea, and the AC-47 in Vietnam. He also flew other planes with his last one being a Lockheed Constellation.
