So Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.38 is here!
In this video i'm bringing you my full review and thoughts on the RCR Garage Civic one of the latest cars to GT7 with update 1.38.
A big thank you to Phil & Jesse at RCR Garage for providing information for this review and congrats to them for their car being featured in GT7.
The rcr civic sports an insane pandem wide body, functional aero and insane power all crammed into an EG civic body putting out over 300bhp with an FF layout. This sure is an absolute beast of a car.

So I've had some more contact with RCR Garage & here's some extra info GT7 doesn't state:
Currently this car puts out 420BHP & depending which tyres they run it rotates much better IRL than the game portrays & in game the guys have stated it feels down on power.
They've also noted that IRL the shifts are much more aggressive & sound like gun shots going off due to spark cuts.

I really enjoyed the time trial challenge with this car. Good to see PD putting some of these cars to good use.
360 pounds of torque, my High-RPM Civic Type-R from the same era has 360HP but only 200 pounds of torque. That Civic is insane. Within 15% difference with a Chevy 350 350HP in terms of torque. Beast
The k swap is probably why he has more torque
Found the car very difficult to drive around Tsukuba in the time trial challenge.
That's because PD let it run on SM tyres when in real life this thing runs slicks for tracks.

I like the handling in the Type R Touring Car Civic much better , haven't tried the RCR with slicks yet though
it doesn't make it any better this car hates corners

Yeah, I almost rolled it at Bathurst. Terrible car
It definitely wouldn't be running 11bar of boost, more than likely it's 11psi, which would bring a K24 to that power level. Love this car in VR!
Hopefully we can get the road car EG6 and bringing the Lexus lfa
id love to see Koeniggsegg join GT7 along with the LFA and the other cars they had in older games but I doubt they do it.

You say great I have to disagree this car looks cool, sounds cool has a cool story, BUT in GT7 you cannot tune all the suspension parts making it a massive headache to drive on a track with alot of turns cause this car HATES corners while under power which is weird for FF cars. I can't put this are over the 2022 civic type R which might be the best civic in the game along side the Honda civic'98 with the K20 swap cause they handle better and have high top speeds.
sure IRL this thing could be amazing but in GT7 its a handful

that's normal, I mean they put a slow ambulance and fiats in the game. the hard part is making those P.O.S. fast and handle well

You're comparing a car which left the showroom 30 years ago and became a high school kids daily before being built up by a family in their garage to a full blown modern day type r made by honda themselves.
It's not a fair comparison
@@naffantaitIn-game, with identical PP ratings, the new Civic obliterates this thing by about 2-3 seconds around Grand Valley. The background of the cars doesn't matter at that point, the outcome does.
@@griffinfaulkner3514 PP system is a mess and really doesn't mean much that's why you can create so many broken tunes for cars in this game.
The exact same reason we've ended up with 600pp tomahawks and such it means very little since no car will be identical even if you're building them at the same PP.
Even one single car built differently running the same PP would lap differently depending on it's build so using PP system to base a cars overall performance just doesn't work
@@naffantait Right, so here's my subjective opinion on the two cars, having just sent the _hell_ out of them to get a general feel for how they handle.
The RCR has absolutely zero drive off of corners, even for an FF car, and the extremely soft, non-adjustable roll bars make it hairy if you're on a track with high curbs or aggressively cambered corners. It's decent, but not spectacular in a straight line, but below 100mph it struggles to put all of its power down, even on racing softs. This might be down to running 535 horsepower to get the thing to 700pp, but it's still a rather large issue.
The Type R, on racing mediums, with nearly 70 less horsepower, and nearly 400 pounds heavier for a 700pp tune, somehow manages to clobber the RCR in practically every way. The handling is predictable, the nose is pointy, at least by comparison, and it has the best acceleration off of corners out of all the FF cars I've driven more than two or three times. High-speed stability and grip is excellent, with the single largest issue being that damn shift tone that comes on above 7k RPM and never turns off because of how close my gearing is.
