Yep, that's why/how an entire genre - Symphonic Metal - came into existence. LOL Started by Nightwish, but definitely perfected by WT.
Well Metallica made a very big push toward the cause when they released the S&M album.

freeadvice4lost_Kate R. Pillars yep, back when S&M came out it was people criticising not only Metallica for doing it, but many were angry the San Francisco Orchestra performed with them. I was really young but it was definitely something that angered both metal and classical fans alike. Part of what makes it all the more special.

That woman's vocal range is amazing....
Slash once advocated that the best way to find out if a band is really worth their salt is by listening to their live recordings before taking in their studio releases. I like this version even better than their studio cut of this song and that never happens with me. A truly strong delivery and stage presence (and not just because of the orchestra or the effects). I wish this band had a stronger following in the US so they could do more touring here.

Seen them live twice here in NY both times they played this song and I got goosebumps. They really are an amazing band and they are phenomenal live. They deserve more fans here in the US. Wish they would do their theatre tour here I would love to see it live.

This was the miracle of this concert. She sang a whole freakin' concert with a sore throat/cold, and did it beautifully. She's an angel right here on earth.

Forgot the choir. I think we have an amazing orchestra named “ Metropole Orchestra “ overhere in the Netherlands and they do a lot of of collabs in any music style. That’s why it’s called Symphonic Metal. Look CZcams at the 10 year anniversary of Epica and found an other great collaboration between metal band, orchestra and choir. Enjoy

Holy fucking shit. I heard this song on pandora and looked them up on YT. This band is so badass. Busted 10 nuts while listening to this song. The orchestra and the choir is wow!!

Sharon Den Adel's voice gives me chills. I'm thoroughly convinced that when you go to Heaven, the angels all sound like her. Absolutely incredible voice.

This is a concert that 100% needs an encore... same exact songs and same exact style. Still the best concert ive ever seen after 12 years. Perfection.
If this will ever happen again and I have any opportunity to get there I will probably do so.
I first heard this song probably 15 years ago when I was 12 years old in the hospital, and I’ve been in love with Within Temptation ever since. Amazing song, amazing band, thank you for sharing this amazing music with the world. I just missed the old Within Temptation style and I believe most of your fans are thinking that way. In my opinion, The Heart Of Everything album is the peak of your musical career. Please don't follow the popular culture and don't change your style. Loves from Turkey. :)

this is hands down my fav song, and the live is done so epically, its the only band i listen live versions too, because its consistent quality.

That pretty much happens with every song they play live
I still remember finding out about this album - was browsing through a record store trying to figure out if I was going to get anything(I'm pretty picky, and I was kind of broke then), saw this, and my jaw dropped a bit. Bought it instantly, and haven't regretted it for a minute. It's still the only concert DVD I own.

In the coming years, I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a hymn sung in church.
On the one hand, it'd be sad if that were the case, but I wouldn't be surprised, given all the problems in the world, including the tantruming child of an authoritarian who's now in the White House.
And on the other hand, if this was sung in churches, I'd become a churchgoer just to participate. This truly is a powerful song, a wonderful plea to the divine in the bleakest of human experiences
it's a song about questioning why we should worship a being if we don't know whether or not they exist, let alone wishes to do anything about the problems that were created.

I don't even know what to say, this is truly magical. It really was the most spectacular event of the year, I would do anything see a show like this, and it's easily one of the bests WT has ever done!

Was wondering, I noticed that she wasn't able to hold the same range, still an epic performance though.
A Jones she had a bad case of the cold and been in bed with high fever until 1 day before the concert. On the day itself her nasal cavities where still badly clogged. If listen carefully you can hear it. Still un amazing performance.

Best band I have ever heard and they are completely unknown here in Montreal ;( I tried without success to get them played on local radio. Their music is on a whole higher level compared to everyone else.
If you like this you might also want to try Epica. It takes little more effort to get into but it is worth it. Good songs to start with are "the phantom agony", "once upon a nightmare" , "feint" and "tides of time"

@@svyatoslavustinchenko7144 sry, dunno what u mean by "care", can only assume u meant military technological aid, in that case, what I can say is just that it seems to me they wanted to avoid provoking kremlin on hostilities in the light of non-negotiable difference between kremlin interpretation of minsk agreements which couldn't be implemented and ukrainian, it's all about politics, geopolitics, business and so on, it requires a strong argument, but I dare say, they didn't turn Ukraine in, having responded to kremlin ultimatum in Ukraine favour, furthermore, hard times showing u who your friends (allies) are, as for me I believe allies and a lot compassionate people have done so much already to say em all THANK YOU, and yep, better late than never
