Where to attach hoses from the Power Steering Air Control Valve on your 3.0 liter 3VZE from Toyota 4runner and pickup. Valve is located on bottom of power steering pump.

Very helpful video! I recently rebuilt my power steering and after i put ut all together the power steering does not work at all. If i had those lines attached to the wrong hose mount would that cause loss of power steering? Im thinking about just switching them but i also dont want ro wreck anything. Any help would ve very appreciated. Thanks!
Hey thanks for the feedback! The purpose of these hoses is to increase the engine idle speed slightly if you turn the steering wheel while parked or driving at idle. I don't think it would have anything to do with your lack of power steering unfortunately 😬 sorry I can't be more helpful! There may be air in your lines or something simple like that

@@RitzmanPerformanceMotorworks Funny story, I was browsing youtube armed with only a computer mouse..my keyboard had decided to merge with my glass of water via my clumsy hand motion..
So I had to write that PVC correction using copy/paste of letters in your description only.
Now that I can properly type, let me say your video is fine and I went through similar situation with PS pump air valve. It's been two years since I ordered a $250 rebuilt PS pump and company just keeps sending me faulty units. It's a process to change out so during one removal of thier faulty pump, air valve broke. I used epoxy putty to fix for many months until I finally ordered one used from ebay. It arrived plugged with thick gunk and cracks in casing. They refunded me luckily but it remains on vehicle barely functioning. Same story with distributor...2 weeks to arrive and it was completely toast. Bearing shot and deep groves cut into roter gear. Finding used parts from ebay that are not in worse shape than original is apparently difficult...and costly! Same story with transmission...2 weeks to swap and ebay seller had sent me a dead transmission. They did send out another and has worked for 3 years so far.
PS is very easy to rebuild forget the ones you get at parts store all they do is replace the single item that failed inside and Shove it In a box.. you can get quality rebuild with every little item for rebuild $25. Have done a few owned 25+ Toyo/Lex.. I hate that idle up valve I’ve never been able to discern a difference connected or not. No idle up on full turn lock to lock.. delete is my conclusion. I can’t forget the size bolt that works but avoid sucking PS fluid through intake and smoke out the exhaust when it fails and leaks.

First of all thank you so much, I've spent hours trying to find out where those hose go. Do I really need his part? I've been hearing a vacuum leak and looks like the previous owner tucked the lines away and worm clamped the ends. The hose on the raised hump side has the vacuum and the other one does not. When I put my finger to stop the leak the idle smoothens out. Can I get away with just capping the line? My power steering feel doesn't feel any different.

It has been a long time since I did any work with this and I have actually sold the vehicle so take my advice for what it's worth. It is my understanding that the power steering control valve controls the idle speed when you steer while stopped. I think it's supposed to up your idle a bit when you turn the wheel or when you get close to full lock. I don't think you'd really be hurting anything by capping it. A lot of guys delete all their vacuum accessories. Although if you do cap it and find that the engine stalls or bogs when you turn, reconnect it to see if you get that idle compensation again. Any idea the part # or the hose material for the two vacuum hoses that run from the Air Control Valve on the PS pump to the Intake Plenum ? They are not regular silicone vacuum hoses. And idea what kind of hose is suitable to replace them with ?
I wish I could help you there. I literally went to a wrecking yard and bought another junk 4runner for 400 to get the hoses and see the routing. If you can find em at a junk yard that's the way to go

I have a. 20000 4 runner how the hell you get it off
The valve is located on the bottom of the power steering pump. It has 2 hoses attached to it that will slide off (no connectors). I believe you then use a 17mm wrench to remove the valve itself. I may be wrong on the size. I haven't worked on this for several years so I don't remember if there is any accessories in the way.
@@RitzmanPerformanceMotorworks thank you it was a 17 mm the bastard was stubborn so I put the torch on it and use the vice grips and a whole lot of explicit words but I won!
Would you recommend using that white tape on the thread of the sensor? I just recently did my power steering pump replacement and man I couldn’t take out the OEM sense and left it in so I want to avoid that next time if I have to get in there in the future.
I don't think I've ever seen telfon tape used. Admittedly, I can't even remember if any fluid passes through the threaded section as I sold that car almost a year ago and made the video long before that. But I think you're OK without it

Will this solve my squealing ?
Squealing could come from lots of places! Low power steering fluid makes a squealing noise, worn out belts make a squealing. This is a fix for the vacuum system which shouldn't be squealing. But if you find junkyard parts, it's cheap so it won't hurt to try.

You can delete and cap the vacuum ports and it won’t make a bit of difference your vehicle won’t idle up 500 rpm when you lock the steering big deal 🤷♂️
So capping the intake nipples that connect to this is perfectly fine? The o my thing that will change is it won’t idle up when steering? I want to delete this on mine.
