He's gonna be OK. Right now making his second album (Third actually, With his rap album All the world's a stage), and James BREATHS Music. It's his all, his life, his breath, his passion, and now, thankfully, his Income. Look at his videos of him singing at the age of 16, 18, 20 etc. You'll understand. That's how he Express himself, and I don't think he will ever stop writing Music. Hoping for many, many years of albums and tours in the future. James has the beautiful diverse voice. I am glad he applied for the Xfactor. His album is full of amazing lyric's and music. I am looking forward to his new album and i am a woman in her late 40's i have grown up with great and crap music and it is very special when a talented artist comes along. Thank you James.
The way he rides along the melody is so perfect. He doesn't abuse his vibrato (even though it's extremely good). It comes in at the right times. It's all very tasteful and adds up to a performance I'd love to hear on a studio recording. Most artists try so hard to impress you with crazy vocal acrobats and the emotion is totally lost. James Arthur was a true artist that was too good for X Factor.

Pod trash Vibrato? What vibrato. He has none. He overpulls his chest voice and eventually in the long run, he's gonna lose his already limited belting range. The only thing that is really great about him is his falsetto. It might not be the prettiest sounding but it can really cut through and is powerfully piercing
This comment is so good. Accurate. There's a plan to JA's madness. He fuses skill with timing. There's intention behind almost everything, yet he does let the divine being flow through him that somehow makes him look infallible. The sections where improvs are made, are planned, the improvs themselves is really technique at the top of its mastery. If this makes sense. Love JA. can't appreciate him enough. One of the best finds in the last 6 months, in terms of music, meaningful popular personalities, some heightened awareness and spiritual wisdom...the world is not lost. Thank you for the inspiration JA. Glad other people see it too. Awesome.

Honestly, James doing Sweet Dreams is a perfect example of why you don't have to be a stereotypical "hunk" to be sexy. His intensity and sincerity in that song particularly is really attractive.

I saw video of one of these types of shows, awhile ago, with all kids or young teenagers. This one girl came out and sang, and just killed!! The camera showed all the other kids, contestants, back stage, and the look on all of their faces was..........."well, we just lost".

Hes a brilliant performer that delivers raw emotion time and time again. He brings the essence of what any performer is looking to give when doing their thing, whatever it may be. Its no big surprise that someone like Nichole would find that an attractive feature.

It was like putting one of the greatest of all time on a talent show. Shame he lived in teeside, redcar in the middle of nowhere and the fact he had a lot of mental health issues that held him back from making it. I love the fact he writes music for him

Mark Smith yeah, of course the show has done a lot for him and as a viewer, I am glad he auditioned but there are people who don’t give him a chance just because he’s from The X Factor which is really annoying.
The struggles he went through before helped him to write such raw and honest music. You are so right that Eminem should collaborate with James. He was already an artist, ready to record his stuff before entering the show, it’s stupid how he had to prove it by singing covers and hoping that the public keep him in..(it’s clear a lot of viewers don’t vote based on talent) but without any financial backing or links in the music industry, that’s the route he has to take to get noticed.
Also there’s nothing I hate more than when people compare him to Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith.

Amazing talent, I have rarely seen someone that can put so much genuine emotion into there singing and a powerful voice to boot.
Only one grip, I wish he didn't ruin the songs with the Rap, No matter what he thinks he is not a good rapper.
MAKAB36 have you forgotten his audition? EVERYONE forgets that he did his own rap in it and I do agree he is a better singer but the lyrics are amazing whether singing rapping or talking. I think the rapping is about getting his feeling out and I feel it every time!

I have listen to around 10 of his songs now and enjoyed most of then whether he rapped or not, He really tells a story with his songs (damn sounding gay here :) ), This is were the trolls put there 2 cents in.
His emotion is his biggest strength. Too many talented singers don't sing meaningful songs that showcase their emotions. The few that do really stand out, like James.

Talk about coming from humble beginnings to owning the moment just by being yourself & doing what you love in life. I am pushing 60 & think that James Arthur is the most inspiring artist I have ever heard. I have posted this compilation with a challenge for you all to take the time to view it & i will be surprised if you hear anything from him that does not make you sit up & applaud his ability to draw you in & feel like you have just been to the best concert ever. In the last 2 years I have watched this compilation a number of times in particular when I feel i need a hit of something special & inspiring. His music since then largely appeals to the young so i hope at some point, sooner other than later, he will release an album of rehashed old favorites with the James Arthur stamp on them & I would be gobsmacked if it did not top the charts. Other artists do this towards the end of their careers but James Arthur will fill a gap out there by doing it now simply because he can take just about any style out there, make it his own and, because of his own humble beginnings, perform from the heart & draw anyone into the story. If music were a language he would be considered bilingual.

I think this is therapy for him, for his pain. Cheaper than going to a shrink. Humble beginnings alright. I didn't catch what he was doing for work, was he unemployed? But coming from a broken home, and living in a small room.
Well said, it's not just the younger audience that feels his music. I'm totally in love with his style, his abilities and just his genuine, authentic personality he has. I always get so tickled watching them do the group singing with "The Fray". It's like two tiny cars driving down the highway, and then a huge 18-wheeler driving in between them. If I were those two other dudes, I would have just said "nope" after he sang his part and called it a day.
