  • These are actually some of the ONLY 330A elevators I have ridden. This hotel has a very strange setup, with a "passenger" car (car 1), and a "freight" car (car 2). They really should have given the freight car a separate call button for those with large amounts of bags, and for the maids. Quite frankly, this hotel would do just fine with 1 elevator.

You’re probably the only elevator filmer besides me who’s been to Auburn, NY. For those of you who don’t know, Auburn is a very small city home to about 25,000 people, but surprisingly still the largest city or town in all of Cayuga County NY. It’s located about an hour east of Rochester and about 40 minutes west of Syracuse. My grandparents live in that area and thats likely the only reason I even know about Auburn. If you love older elevators like me. Auburn is actually a GOLDMINE for that as they’re a very old city that a lot of looks like hasn’t been touched in DECADES, so most of their elevators are still original and very unlikely to be modded anytime soon. That being said, Auburn is pretty far out there like I said, there’s no interstate that goes through it, and there’s not a lot to actually do there, so it’s not the kind of place you’d go out of your way for. I want to say about 60% of Auburn’s population is ages 60+, meaning not a lot of people are moving there, and most of the population are people who grew to there and have been living there their entire life, meaning the city will likely die out in the very near future.

I really hate layouts like this with one center opening and one single slide. I've seen it on one other 330A set and many KONE lifts.

Yeah it irritates me as well. Strangely both behave RADICALLY different lol

The Hampton Inn in Westfield, IN has a similar layout in which 1 elevator has a center-opening doors and the other has a single-slide door.
