GoPro: Saving Lulingu the Baby Gorilla with GRACE in 4K

- In 2016, Lulingu was saved by the Gorilla Rehabilitation and Conservation Education Center (GRACE), the world's only sanctuary for Grauer’s gorillas, a Critically Endangered ape that only lives in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Poaching has brought gorillas to the brink of extinction but GRACE is giving them hope.
GRACE teamed up with GoPro to film the Lulingu’s journey and to follow her through the rehabilitation process, culminating in successfully joining the gorilla group at GRACE.

When they asked the girl caregiver if she’d be happy or sad to let go of the baby it looked as if she was about to cry 😢 They speak so gently and with kindness, a testament to how much love and dedication these people put into the important conservation work that they do
Girl? You mean woman.
This is not healthy human behavior. There are plenty poor children in African villages that need support. .
@@hadessahf3549 Fool. We can do both.
They are precious when they laugh while being tickled. The caregivers are incredibly patient and professional. God bless them all. Thank you for taking care of these majestic animals.
They may not be laughing but showing a happy sensation to the certain physical contact. Of being tickled.just because you want their reactions to be laughter, it may not be. When a chimpanzee attacks don’t confuse that noise for laughter. This is not the missing link. There is none. 😅😂many of you want animals to be human. They are not no matter how much you ascribe their various behaviors to human like behavior. A cat that acts like a dog is still a cat. 🐕😹 and , there are humans who don’t like to be tickled, may laugh.
@@hadessahf3549 they do laugh when being tickled. Bonobos even laugh when anticipading the tickle
Omg I'm only 5 minutes far in watching and my heart is already breaking when I hear the man talk about building up baby's confidence and make him feel loved :-( Why oh why is there so much cruelness in the world?!?
Thank God there are organisations like these.
Edit: what a lovely ending for this baby boy Lulingu! You could see the caretakers being emotional, and the woman could hardly answer the question about him leaving them for his new family. They have a beautiful heart!
These caregivers are the textbook definition of unselfish, compassionate, and committed. Have so much respect for them.
When the little gorilla laughed when the caregiver was tickling it, it totally has a huge smile on its face (or so I think). We can only imagine just how deeply and to what extent they feel emotion. I would love to know.
imagine having a baby gorilla run towards you because it wants a hug from you
17:43 they have feelings ❤️ When Lulingu clung to the Pinga I started sobbing the unconditional love 😭❤️
Am I the only one that cried during this whole film? Ugh. I'm so emotional. I would love to work with these beauitful animals. Great work!!
What a wonderful story. Pinga carrying her on her back & the the other one being protective. She was so calm being carried to Grace. Loved her laughing when she was being tickled. People who protect, take care & give these beautiful animals r hero’s.
Oh !!! this is absolutely fantastic.
These people are amazing, they are Africa’s future.
I am full of admiration for this organisation.
May God bless them all.
Lulingu is sooooo adorable..............Beautiful to see love in between her and humans. The world needs more love. I wish I met her, other gorillas and this amazing team :) :) happy to see how the troop welcomed her ! Life can be so awesome
How anyone could hurt these majestic, sentient beings is beyond me. Thank goodness for GRACE and these wonderful humans who care for/protect these beautiful babies. ❤️
I started crying like a baby when she ran into her new mamas arms. These intelligent and sensitive apes can still teach we humans the true meaning of life.. Keeping it simple is a good start. Thank you for a beautiful video.
i agree with "keeping it simple" as a mantra or so... it's impressive where human kind is today, but at the same time i think it's totally unneccessary and would've been the best, if we wouldn't have became such a dominant, alphakind of liviing beings on this world. i think that would've been the "right" way. no other species on the whole world goes that far. they just live. It's sad, because i just realize, that most humans would argue against this in some way, just to defend our purpose, idk, which means they (we) are mostly very blind, egocentric and - specially - insecure beings. Doesn't make me sad, rather makes me really angry. but yea, it's how we humans naturally were born, with a brain, that brought us and the whole world here where we are now.
This whole thought-process facinates me alot rightnow, because it's basically so much bigger, more important and "at the roots of it all" than any other thoughts we're living in, yet I (and probably the most of us), rarely ever think about this. And if yes, than surely still by far not often enough. This situation, where we're at now, will never change, that's the sad thing and it never did.
derp!
Me too, so amazing.
@@stanlee2200seriously smh
seriously.......totally shaking my head twice as much as you.............@@eaglesflyproud
I cried when the foster mom picked her up. At least one happy ending for one of these amazing animals. Thank you. Merci!
Don't use that word foster parents get paid high salary and usually abuse and it's sick industry this MoMA done it out of love
@@jungleninja8415 True enough.
@Ay yo Jungle Ninja be nice LOL
You're crying, Im not😭 That was so cute
A happy baby with a large family and birds singing! I should be so blessed. Thank you so much!
dear lord, if i had the money, i would support things like this. Thank you for your dedication and passion you put into this.
They laugh, just like a toddler. That is just so sweet.
We need more people like this...........Animals need more people like this.
I agree♡
They are about as close to human as it gets!!
People as well!

Wow the foster parents really cared for the gorillas. What a happy ending.God bless their hard work and dedication.
What a gorgeous little baby! They are doing a wonderful job taking care and looking after these gorillas 🦍
I cried tears of joy when Lulingu was accepted by the other gorillas. Thank God for the caretakers at Grace.
The moment the baby finally had a mother and family was priceless ❤️💕❣️♥️💕❤️💕❤️💕
Pinga protected Lulingu like a badass. What a beautiful integration process.
God bless the souls that offer help to these baby gorillas. Spending precious hours out of their time to mother them❤️
THESE CAREGIVERS ARE THE MOST SPECIAL PEOPLE ON EARTH,SEE THE HAPPINESS IN THEIR FACES FOR A JOB WELL DONE.I SALUTE YOU ALL.

Check out the school for orangutans. That one’s pretty awesome too. These animals are absolutely beautiful!!
@@liviloo87 True, I've seen many of their videos and they're absolutally wonderful. @terry ford I agree!
I bet it was hard for caregivers to say goodbye, holding my tears. What a lovely story. Thank you Grace for all you do.
It must be so rewarding and yet so sad at the same time. God bless those who rescue these babies, care for them and prepare them as they return to the forest.
I love this man. So compassionate and kind.
The reaction to the ticketing at 07:20 is so precious ❤️
I realized I was holding my breath when Pinga was introduced to the baby, lol. She took the orphan right in. Her human parents must have mixed feelings, extreme happiness, with some sadness to know she won't need them 24 hrs a day now. These people go through so much for their love of these precious gorillas. True heroes. Thank you all.
*THERE MUST BE A SPECIAL PLACE IN HEAVEN FOR THOSE WHO HELP ANIMALS IN NEED. GOD BLESS YOU !!!*
Pinga rules! She is as sweet and kindhearted as the human caretakers! Love them all!
I couldn’t help but become emotional! These people at this facility do an outstanding job of taking care of these beautiful animals!
17:50 Had me balling. God bless these wonderful people that are so incredibly loving and who work so hard to give these mountain gorillas a chance at life. Beautiful people helping a beautiful species...such a rare occurrence these days....
@Pony Girl 1. "The media" isn't a single entity.
2. What are you on about?
I assume you mean “bawling”!
@@sandrashaw6298 Oh gosh, I'm usually the spellcheck freak...I'm blushing! :)
"Tears of Joy" after watching this video. What an amazing job you people are doing!
The way humans have treated Gods animals is despicable 😢.
Thank you for your tireless work!!!
Such a beautiful landscape! Seeing humans and animals together without harming each other almost brought tears to my eyes. And this feeling comes from my soul! This is how it should be worldwide!
The things you people do for our world makes me happy and makes me cry tears of happiness and joy we need more people like you!!!
I witnessed something absolutely divine and beautiful ❤️
Those guys and lady at grace are just fantastic people at grace, and the way they treat all gorillas like thier family. They are truly caring and loving they are so blessed. Thank you everybody at grace.
My heart is full after watching this.
I have just come to love and adore gorillas. They truly do have deep feelings and express themselves much like humans. The babies display childish behavior, teasing each other wrestling just as human babies and toddlers do. Another miracle of God's creation.
@Asspargass S my God created nature. That's not a fairy tale. The fairy tale is that there is no heaven and that there is no hell. Fairy tale is that there is no God and there is no Satan. Whether you believe that or not is your business, One thing that is certain is that they both believe in you!!!
That last shot is wonderful! Lulingu in the treetop, sunning herself and just enjoying the day.
This is the most wholesome thing I have seen in a very long time.
She has grown so much since this video. Thank you GRACE for taking care of these wonderful beings!
We need more to conserve for the Gorilla population growing up like a GRACE. Very nice and good job
18:27 you can see a mix of happiness and sadness in his face, its beautiful T_T
you can tell they really care about these animals
the mixed feelings of a proud parent.
@@mjkay8660 well said my friend
The integration was done so well. Glad baby Liking has a family.
You can see the innocence in her little face- The care takers are very special and lucky to get to spend time with them!
My ❤ bursts with love and respect for these beautiful magnificent creatures. I admire the rescuers and all of their hard work for the rehabilitation and preservation of the great ape 🦍. Thank you for sharing!
Wishing I could be young again so I could go and work with these beautiful animals ❤
This is what I should have done with life..being a caregiver for these precious animals. GRACE is a wonderful place.
Gorillas are so powerful. Can you imagine what it must be like for this tiny baby to ride the back of his new foster mom and protector.
When they all come out to the cage and the carer is holding her, it looks like all the adult relatives at a hospital nursery window looking at the new baby as the nurse holds the baby up. Beautiful.
Thank you for saving these beautiful creatures!!!
Absolutely beautiful. These kind amazing people are doing God's work. God bless! 💘
God bless all of you for looking after these beautiful gorillas. I absolutely love chimpanzees and gorillas. They are so human like.
I'm crying😢😢so sad to let him go but we have to respect their wild life.
I've been having a really hard time lately. It's been a struggle to fine reasons to be happy. But to see this video and see so much love still in this world, I can't help but smile.
This was the best video I’ve seen. The music the calm sweet people, it was beautiful
Thank you all for this great work you do for these beautiful gorillas💖.
My faith in humanity is restored. ♥️
My 💓 is pounding with happiness that pingo accepts her! Wow!
To all workers: keep up the great work! Merci!
What a tragedy it would be if these beautiful animals became extinct because of human greed and destruction. Thank goodness that there are people like this committed to protecting them.
Long live those souls who cater to the needy, take care, spend their so called precious lifetime for these living beings.
These people are priceless gems! This is the most beautiful video I’ve ever watched! My favorite animal they deserve to live in peace protected in harmony with their kind! Thank you!
😭These people are amazing!!!
OMG Absolute Tears when Lilunga ran straight into Pingas Arms 😭😂🥺❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👌🏾👌🏾
I’m thankful for these beautiful human beings that take such loving care of these babies 💚✌🏻✌🏼✌🏽✌🏾✌🏿
Wow... ... ...
Gave me chills and, admittedly, brought a little tear to my eye. That was pretty awesome.
Primates fascinate me, thank you for posting this. Mostly thank the "parents" , I know it isn't easy to let them go. Happy and sad but, so rewarding.
Thank you for your great work. It may not be appreciated by those who hunt these beautiful animals; but it is most certainly appreciated by most people of this planet. We need more like you!
Agreed,I have a hard time even calling them animals, when u so so many human qualities and characteristics of course then u see them take a shit right into their own hand and eat it like an ice cream cone!!ha,ha,but they are so like us,laughing when shes being tickled, just so many human traits,UNBELIEVABLE!!
*You give our kind way too much credit.*
Most of us may for sure appreciate the great work these amazing ppl are doing... however, the vast majority of us are also responsible for the destruction of these animals' & virtually every other animals' habitats.
Oh yes! Gorillas clearly have feelings. They are so special. I fear for their future. Wow they are sweet.
What a beautiful labor of love. What this group does is soul touching.
Such beautiful country.❤️
Thank you to all you beautiful people and what you are doing. Lot's of love's going on ... You make a difference ! I hope that this will encourage other people to do something for those so wonderful beings ! God bless you and them all !
What an incredible film and story. One of the best videos on the internet. I will rewatch this often. Thanks, GoPro.
How can you rewatch ? I'm not hating just don't get it mabey once more but after that ?
We're so grateful for all of the wonderful work you do for these beautiful souls.
Those people saving these gorillas are all Earth Angels. God bless them. ❤
Precious, magnificent beings. They live in a treacherous place for both humans and gorillas. I hope they can survive with the help of these people.
What a beautiful family they have created,, and what beautiful humans with hearts of gold I wish more people was like theses who care for the voiceless of this world 💙💚
Frigging fantastic that every baby gets his own guardian. every baby needs one person to be theirs. amazing you do this with such heart. I can see the way the lady touches the baby that she is FULL of love. baby in very good hands there with her.. . . . Very nice.
Very touching (had me in tears) - Thank you for sharing your precious mission. I love the way you show reverence and respect for these gorillas and I love that the gorillas recognize and partner with you in the work. You are very patient, kind, and loving to them and in return, they show you the same. The mutual respect between you and the alpha female is priceless. Lulingu is a very fortunate baby to have been in your care and to be in the care of her new family. The baby was received with so much warmth and love 15:20 .
Baby Lulingu is on top of the world happy 20:32
... Very well done.
So beautiful brought tears to my eyes ♥️way to go you guys!!
Wonderful: the kind people, the amazing gorillas.
This is amazing makes you happy but sad. Love the gorilla. So amazing to see love you people have.
You are truly amazing. Thanknu for what u do. And protecting them and giving them a life that was trying to be taken from them. God bless
LONG LIVE FOR THESE WONDERFUL GOOD PEOPLE 💖💖💖
"One thing I've learned from these animals: you can tell they have feelings"
Something that was obvious to all humans, and atill is to anyone who hasn't had a deep terror of anthropomorphizing drilled into them. All mammals clearly have emotions: happiness, fear, loneliness, anger... They may not always feel what we assume they are feeling, but clearly, they FEEL.
Beautiful! These people are my heroes! Just amazing! God bless you all for what you do for those amazing animals! This made my heart smile🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️
Really kind caregivers, especially the shortish man! A very nice story, thank you
This deserves a million views!! Salute to you all! ❤️❤️
