Just wanted to quickly say THANK YOU to everyone who helped get this video to over 1 Million views. I'm speechless, honored, and humbled so many of you have enjoyed the video. Looking forward to growing this channel, and appreciate your support! www.patreon.com/Yester_World
honestly jaws is my favorite movie and i wish i was able to see this
I love your account
I've watched this 3 times and so far, it's my favorite video on your channel. The only time I've been to Florida Disney, was 1 years exactly before Epcot was opened and I have no intention of going back, mostly because at my age, theme parks are no longer "fun" and way too expensive. But I wanted to ask you to please do a video about all the deaths at Disney parks.(If you haven't already done so.) Thanks.
Do the history of "back to the future the ride"
i got to
1:34 The tightness of that kid's shorts is even more terrifying than Jaws, even by 1980s standards.
MerkinMuffly omfg
Lololol0lolol
How could Universal get away with this!?
If he drops anything for whatever reason, and no one is there to pick it up for him, then he is fucked...
(I reread my comment and I want to let everyone know that I meant that figuratively, so don't take it out of context.....)
Reuel Lucas 😂👌
I swear if they touch Jurassic Park....
EDIT: as of 2020 I am aware of the changes to Jurassic Park River Ride Adventure at Universal Studios Hollywood, I am also aware of the current developments taking place on the Jurassic Park section in Orlando, from the looks of it it seems like they are building a rollercoaster near the Visitor center, but it doesn't seem to be that close to where the location of the river ride is so it could be safe for now....
Daniel Jason I will leave Earth if I see my Jurassic Park ride gone
I will die.
I dont think they will
I will die
Daniel Jason I know I love it.
Maybe its just me but the orginal shark effects look a bit more sophisticated and detailed than the one they decided to go with. If you look closely, the teeth and gums move and the sharks head sloshes from side to side, something you don't see in the later footage of the ride. Good workmanship, but I can kind of understand why they had to scrap it since it couldnt stand up to the everyday rigors of a theme park.
It's not just you. I totally agree. I wish they could have found some sort of middle ground to keep the shark "realism" and practicality of functioning on a basically 24/7 basis. From what I've read, the material of the original sharks provided flexibility and realistic movement, but also allowed water to seep in after so much time in the water. So on the 2nd build, they opted for a material which kept water out...but severely limited it's mobility (in terms of those little details you mentioned). It's a big difference when comparing the original mechanical sharks to the new ones, much less life and realism...but I understand why they did it at the same time.
Totally agreed. As much as I loved the boathouse shark, the prototype moves more like a real shark and I actually find it more unnerving.
JM RONIN
JM RONIN I still like parks to this day but they have gotten more political correct.
Fighter Pilot wtf are you talking about
nobody:
universal:lets get rid of all the good rides
-For attractions where you sit in front of a screen instead while your seat moves! 🙃
For real
That’s your opinion
@@michealdesanta9219 YOUR SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SMART FOR FINDING THAT OUT
@Harry Pottah uwu I ONLY CRy WHEN I WATCH YOUR VIDEOS
the day they announced jaw closure my heart broke..... It was my all time favorite ride and still is today =(
Matthew Dennert same dude I'm going back in April with my kids
Matthew Dennert Same Jaws and disaster aka earthquake were the best rides ever
Matthew Dennert I was so lucky to get to ride it one last time in 2012
Kingston1661 I almost forgot about that ride! Omg it used to terrify me as a child.
Hannah Williams 😭😭 Me too and now it's gone..
The shark actually looked BETTER in the original ride, in my opinion. Looks almost like a real great white. :)
Completely agree, wish they could have found a way to keep the realism and also have consistent functionality.
Wow, you do? Cool.
Pretty much... That rubber fish isn't scary. I' saw it 3 or 4 times. Looks like a tub toy...
You mean wooden log shaped like a shark?
Hewy Toonmore NOOO THEY REMOVED IT???
It would be pretty amazing to see universal bring back the Jaws ride in a much more amped up, modern day version in the future. Kind of how they did with King Kong.
The Adrian Miguel Show tbh the King Kong ride was kind of a let down. Idk. I was standing in line for about an hour and I had an Express pass, its not really worth the wait.
I agree 100%. The scenery and the beginning of the ride are awesome, but the ride as a whole is nothing to brag about, personally. I expected much more from the ride.
I agree but ill miss the old noes
Ya that would be awesome
The Adrian Miguel Show the new King Kong ride is shit compared to the old cable car one. If I wanted to watch a TV I'd stay home.
I've always remembered the two different endings to the Jaws ride from when I was young. I only realized about 5 years ago I was one of the lucky ones to get to see the original.
universal in the 90s was amazing! There was JAWS, Kongfrontation, Back to the Future, Hitchcock Psycho, so man y great attractions. Sadly times have changed and I understand they need to update but they should have expanded and kept the classic rides and added the new ones. Maybe they will bring some of the classics back, one can only hope.
Eve Rivers true
Dead-on , Eve!! Jaws, Kong, BTF (dont remember psycho...??), all were unparalled experiences! In Hollywood after the Kong-set burned, they came up with the lame 3-d -tunnel set during the studio tour. Once youve been menaced by actual 3-dimensional, larger than life gorillas and sharks, putting on those glasses is far from the world- class experience you'd expect from one of the worlds premier movie studios! Universal must be run by (cost-cutting) kids now...
Hitchcock psycho house was at Universal Studios Hollywood.
I mean with all these remakes they’re making I’m they will soon. They already remade Jurassic Park
Eve Rivers I agree. Hitchcock was so much fun! It had 2-3 different sections. They should have just made a Harry Potter Park separately....but no...ugh...
I hope they remake the Jaws ride sometime in the future. I'm going to Universal this year and it sucks that it's gone.
don't worry, there's tons of other awesome stuff there
There is other great rides there now. and the Harry potter theme park is so cool
I hope THEY DON'T ,the JAWS era is dead and gone for ever
I remember seeing it as a kid probably not much longer after it initially came out so probably mid- 1990's. I thought it was really impressive, one of the best attractions at Universal Florida.
they wont, theres no space
4:30 they even nailed it with the shark's eyes turning white when it's attacking the boat.
The Universal Evolution nice
The Universal Evolution ikr it was better the original
The Universal Evolution ouh
The Universal Evolution cool
ikr
Now is all 3D screens. I like animatronics better.
They had back to the Future & honey I shrunk the kids in 3d rides since before 3d ish was ever that common. You're like either real late and or extremely behinf
Ahhw E-Any you’re talking back in the 90’s. I’m talking about today’s date. Which are most of them.
Yeah you get sick quickly that way not a fan
The only one i like is the Spiderman one cuz i feel like it blends both really well but yeah i miss all the old animationic rides too, if i had the money id travel to Universal Japan cuz they still have the jaws ride over there
Animatronics are expensive
A lawsuit? You mean... A Jawsuit?
I'll go home
hannah kleffke hehe
hannah kleffke 👏👏👏

hannah kleffke ba dumm tisss
Never do this again.
My parents took me the second week Universal was open. Jaws broke down while we were on the boat. King Kong was non-operational. We were given complementary passes for another visit at any time, due to this. Still have the 4 tickets (K1 code).
Chris P Are they still valid? LOL
Really? You know you can trade them in for new passes. I know cause my grandmother used to work there (she also lives across the street from it too) and got tickets often. And I actually traded the old tickets in a couple years ago to go to into Universal Studios
Chris P lucky
Chris P jaws never shut down mid-ride. It just went too early or too late and sometimes go off on its own. Nice try honey
When I was a kid I used to watch videos of people going on Jaws the ride on CZcams in 2007. And I finally got to go to Disney and Universal in 2012....but I was too late. My life long jaws ride dream was crushed 😢
techno639 they still had the jaws ride in 2012.
techno639 me to. I wanted to go to the jaws ride but I was to late to
techno639 that was sad
The old king kong ride was a masterpiece im so lucky i had the chance to go on it.
Being on the east coast I never got a chance
That one was good, but I liked the old Earthquake better. I was about 8 years old and even after 25 years I can remember feeling the heat from the flames; and when the ceiling caved in and the truck came sliding down and hit/broke the pillar, I was sitting literally right beside that pillar and I thought I was dead. I was 100% sure that wasn't part of the ride. lol...I will never forget either one of those rides. Jaws was closed when I was there though.
Lauren Baby I wasn’t even born when it came out 😂😂
I remember going on that ride as a kid with my dad. I just remember it scaring me.
That's how I felt getting to go on the jaws ride in like 84 or 85 something like that but it was awesome
I'd read about the original Jaws and seen diagrams but this is the first footage I've ever seen from it. That 180 degree spin is awesome.
Andria Barratt It was a pretty neat ride, although it stinks that I vaguely remember the original since I was still a kid at the time. Definitely remember Quint's boat and hearing him talk from one of the buildings about the great white, and the whole explosion at the end.
From what I heard part of the problem was the ending scene, because of the carcass props getting stuck in places filters and causing the pumps to malfunction.
jakewimzy1988 gh
Andria Barratt at what point in the video does the 180 happen? I rewatched it and couldn't find it.
3:03 Hard to tell because it's close up. I only know what it is because I'd seen diagrams. And I actually don't know how much of a spin it ended up doing in the final product. Could be more or less than that.
My mum went back in 2001 and experienced all the old rides like Jaws, ET ect. And when she took me she didn't know that they'd gone (apart from ET) so I got well excited when she told me what's there but it ended up being Simpsons and Spider-Man ect. which were good but I wish I got to experience the older rides
Beth_2403 was your mum living in a cave for the past 16 years
Beth_2403 wait ET is still in the park
Beth_2403 lmao such a kill buzz i got to go on all of them just before they were shut down amazing as a kid
I was there for the first incarnation of the ride. The explosions were cool and the tipping of the boat were the most effective parts. Late eighties were the best theme park days.
hauntedhouse late 80's early 90's were the best times to be a kid period. Yeah kids now have the technology but we had the innovation then.
Alex Woodard+ I was born in the wrong generation
Alex Woodard cool
Very cool. I was there with my family for the first incarnation of this, too. Times that can never be replaced.
Alex Woodman Honestly, I'm getting tired of hearing being a kid was so much better in the 90s and 80s BS! How about smoking? Smoking is way less common now then in the 80s. Also technology might had thrown away all those memories of going to the movie rental, but kids of today have hundreds of movie on instant demand. Plus I still remember going to Redbox when I was younger, and well I am what you consider a 2000s kid, since I'm 14. Call the 2000 kids spoiled and compare to your generation we are, but your generation are also spoiled as in your Dad didn't have the technology you have now. I will admit that our shows and music is sucky, but to say there isn't hidden gems is a lie. When I was younger I watch ton of PBS kids and they had good shows like Curious George. Which I will called a childhood. Also the 80s cartoon were really terrible from what I seen. They tend to be obnoxiously aim for kids, and for the purpose of just selling toys. 90s shows were much better with like Pokémon and all. Let not mention things like Health care, and social security. Look, every generation have it's ups and down and no one generation is a better generation to have grown up in. Well beside the 1930s The 1930s suck!
I got to experience it when I was younger. I also remember the King Kong ride. I screamed on that ride. I can’t remember if I cried on it as well or not.
Mysticofshadowyhearts I miss those two rides. 😞
I rode those two rides what they shut them down or something?
Off Grid Action yea. They’re not there anymore. They got rid of them
That was me on the Simpsons ride... please don't judge...
I went on them too when I was like 9 or 10 back in 1999 or around then.. I have a vauge memory of how cool they were, that and exta terror esttrial ride where it’s like some LILO and stitch bullshit now I think, idk maybe it’s good who am I to judge I haven’t even been back there since then, I’ve been to the Cali universal and Disney recently but not Florida..anyway really loved those rides
Me: Yeah, I'm scared of Sharks.
Everyone: Why? The odds of you being bitten is minimal!"
Me: Okay but did you ride the Jaws Ride in Universal as a kid AND SIT ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE BOAT?!?!
Cryogenic Chrysalis I did,it was awesome! Miss all the old ones.I hope they bring them back!
I was on the left as well hah scared the hell out of me when I was little
Y e p
Cryogenic Chrysalis omg that is the same reason I’m scared of sharks ahhhh!!! I literally can’t even listen to the theme song for jaws it just freaks me out
Lol my brother almost bit because he was sitting on the left side of the boat
I hope they bring back Jaws one day with updated, more reliable animatronics. Maybe even a version of the first one few got to ride on or have parts from it brought back.
When I was little jaws was my favorite movie. When I went to universal Orlando specifically because of my love for jaws I found out that the ride wasn't there any more and was being replaced with Harry Potter. I even had my jaws shirt on
RIP jaws
Damn I feel for you. It was a really cool thing and had a hanging caught dead jaws(bruce) you could take a pic with.
You can still go to Universal Studios Japan though. I'm all the way in California so I was never able to go to Orlando to see the ride.
Hector S same :/
I would have literally started crying
Hector S. You got there very late bro.... lol
One of Universal’s MOST iconic films since movies began. Truly sad that that ride isn’t operating at ALL Universal parks every day.
It’s operating in the one in Japan
I'm really disappointed that the Jaws ride and the BTTF ride are gone. Both movies are iconic, and I think most people would prefer those over the new fads that won't last. Even my kids are disappointed they can never ride the classics.
I mean Simpsons and Harry Potter are also timeless classics.
But still it would be cool that they would have a section of the park dedicated to classic movies. Cause sometimes the new ones are just cashgrabs, and it shows.
(Im looking at you Fast and the Furious)
@@amala1333 or jimmy Fallon race through New York
Harry Potter is not a classic. Lol. People just love it for some unknown reason. Jaws should still be open
Shelby Rogers it’s not an unknown reason, people have different opinions ,like I hate scary things so I naturally hate Jaws but I love Harry Potter and many people do so I’m glad they replaced it. If you ask someone else their answer will probably be different. That’s how it works. Newsflash people are different🙂
I miss jaws the ride. ..like if you want it back😢
Lisa Capra I rode it when I was kid 😭😭😭 it was really fun!
I don’t know if I ever got that chance. I might’ve when I was very young.
A similar ride is somewhere in the earth maybe.
Lisa Capra I never even got to ride it ;-;
@@JewelWildmoon my cousin rode the first version.
I absolutely hate how universal has basically tore down most of the rides for their classic movies (Jaws, Kong, Back to the Future, etc).
They don't seem to get those movies still have fan bases to this day for a reason, the park shouldn't just be about Harry Potter and new movies, it should be about some of the most iconic movies.
Just waiting for them to close down E.T. and that pretty much will be the end of all their older movie rides.
I hope they don’t shut down E.T.!
You know, your right! (But they should still keep HP, that's my fav!)
@@makb4478 same
TheThreeLittleWomen isn’t it already gone?
gyloir the new kong ride sucks
I’m in the mood where I’ve had a rough week so I’m gonna go over some nostalgia thanks to this channel even if I never personally experienced a lot of it
now I am wanting to watch jaws
Lemme smash
And yet, universal Hollywood keeps the shrek ride.....
Matt Aubel The Shrek ride is gone.
Matt Aubel HOW FUCKING DARE YOU TALK SHIT ABOUT SHREK
Shrek is love, Shrek is life.
Reginald Hampton the sheen ride is still up. I went in 2017 in December and they had it.
Matt Aubel it’s gonna go at some point. Also, it takes up a much smaller space
I saw the title out of the corner of my eye and thought it said:
"The Jews that you never got to experience."
Boosted Fool i cant stop laughing holy shit-
DeathRevenant don't even joke about that
livin_life with_mads Oh, quit being sensitive.
DeathRevenant that is fucking funny
I can't
In the original ride, you ACTUALLY get eaten by a great white.
Sounds fun 😄👍
Just A Lil Muffin WTF
How?
If the sharks eat you the ride would end and where do we end up
They did use real shark teeth on the animatronic
I Was heartbroken when I heard that JAWS was shut down. But to tell you the truth, I was even MORE heartbroken when I heard that Back to the Future was Shut down X(
CURSE YOU UNIVERSAL...No wait!... I mean CURSE YOU SIMPSOOOOONNNSSS!!!!!
Oh, I know same here. At the time I found out about the Back to the Future ride being taken out was long before I was a big fan of BTTF, but after seeing the whole trilogy, I would have loved to have gotten a chance to ride it! I was at Disney World, MGM (now hollywood studios) and Sea World when I was little and if I knew much about travel then I would have tried to insist on coming here, then I would have been able to ride Back to the Future ride and Jaws too! Those 2 all I can do is watch videos of those rides. I heard the Simpson's ride has some kind of reference to the BTTF ride.
don,t forget Harry Potter.
They took Harry Potter ride out too? I thought that was part of a main attraction there?
sportsygirl8 no, I think he means the Harry Potter ride replaced Jaws & Back to the Future
Oh, I see. I was about to say that Harry Potter replaced Jaws and then Simpsons replaced Back to the Future.
The original ride looked so much better!
Danielle Crowley you look good 👅😍
Madara Uchiha うちは wtf Lmaoo
Madara Uchiha うちは Fuck Boy Alert 😂
CДLL MΞ DДDDУ БДЯCФDΞ -_- 😢😢
Universal shouldve bought more land instead of tearing down jaws and oh ya messing with Jurassic park it was beautiful now its ....
So true!
whatidontknowiforgot ? They are expanding the Jurassic Park area
WAIT JURASSIC PARK?!
AHHHHH- I MUST GO THERE
I got to experience this ride when I was younger, it was awesome! My dad sat in the seat where it “attacked”, and touched it. I remember thinking back then how scary it was and how much of a badass he was for touching it.
I went on that ride, and the fire scared me more than the shark.
The flames were so hot, my face felt like melting wax.
The way Universal is going nowadays Jaws will be a digital shark on screen.
I actually rode that one. Holy shit!! This vid just took me back in time. I remember it was scary but there was an effect where a barrel explodes and the heat from the fire it generated was so intense, I had to cover away from it.
Duke Enderz when was this
Tonix It was apart of the Jaws ride, what do you mean "when was this"?
Shion Gate i got so scared of the shark i jumped out of the boat
Me too! I know the heat your talking about lol I love how the shark looked too. I was a little girl when I first went on that ride and I was so scared I hopped into a strangers lap cos jaws came right up to my side of the boat and I was like 6 lol
I remember seeing the Jaws and the King Kong and the Back to the Future ride. The King Kong ride was awesome and when that shark came out ofthe water cuz I was right at the side of the boat, man that made me jump
The good ole days tbh ..I loved the King Kong one ...plus ET too
Same
Bright Burn ET is still running. See it while you can. Won’t be long
I had no idea the newer ride was shut down! I love Harry Potter but I love horror rides like this and I'd have loved to go on it with my dad. Jaws and theme parks are our thing.
I remember the Original ride of Jaws. The first did feel more realistic, but I always liked the 2nd version as well! Brings back a lot of memories. So sad the ride is no longer there! Really miss it!
I was very lucky to have experience the ride in 1993 when I was only 22 years old. It was very realistic! Too bad it is gone. :-((
Man u old
No offense doe
Am I the only one that remembers Jaws attacking a small dinghy with a man in it and a fountain of "blood" spraying up and then a minute later he pops up next to the guest boat? This would have been around 98 or 99 and located at Universal Studios Hollywood. I want to say it also included part of the Dante's Peak ride as well.
Sublime Lizzy That’s in the Tour Ride
this is the section of the backlot tour with jaws in it. the fisherman was called George and originally he would be attacked by jaws as you passed the lake
I do to and I was born in 89 and remembered the original ending of blowing him up. I use to try 5o bribe the operator to let me blow up the shark at the end. Got to shoot the fake gun never at the shark.
What are the shrunken heads singing at 5:27?
fivebearrugs "show me the way to go home..." quint/brody/hooper sing-song
Thanks! I hear it now!
fivebearrugs it's a nod to jaws when they're all drunk...
RIP Jaws ride
'Show me the way to go home', it was in the original JAWS movie Chief Brody, Matt Hooper (Marine Biologist) , and Quint (shark hunter) started singing it at one part of the movie.
I've been on the JAWS ride any times in the past. It was one of favorite rides, but I honest don't mind it being replaced with Harry Potter. After all I like both series very much.
Even though we may no longer be able to ride here in the USA, it lives on in our hearts, minds, and on CZcams.
I'm guessing there must be CZcams videos taken by people who've gone on the ride in the past? I never got to go so I'm kind of bummed, and curious what it must have been like...
My mum and dad were lucky enough to get to go on the original ride before I was born.
I went to the opening, when you walked In they handed you a free ticket to come back because jaws and King Kong were not working.
Triple VEE just the same as Bruce then
I killed myself at universal
What way did you do it?
I do miss Jaws the ride in Orlando, FL
Jaws got avada kedavra'd.
I would like to date you now
LOL winning comment.
Kelly Marie lol you are awesome
Permission to leave and take the original commenter?
Loved it. Keep making more
Thank you so much! I have quite a few theme park/attraction subjects lined up, along with film/entertainment.
Doing the dark rides in a nice quality would be great, it's hard to find decent dark rides around here that don't use night vision or are in bad quality.
I remember one night when I was a boy, I got to ride Jaws with my mom. The sky was really dark, and right as we boarded the boat, it started to rain heavily. The captain/actor was so good that night. It was terrifying but awesome. I'll always remember how great the Jaws ride was. I'm sad that it's gone :/
89's baby here and I got to ride this multiple times. it was awesome!
'Jaws' was,....is,.....and ALWAYS WILL BE the BEST MOVIE EVER MADE.
It scared me out of the water,....and that was decades ago!
Lasting effect?
YES!!!!!
Never a movie with more anticipation,....and screaming,....and the oh SO FAMOUS SHARK MUSIC,......
Do not get rid of this ride,....the people truly love it.
rainbo5250 That music is programmed into humanity forever.
Too late thanks Harry Potter ass holes they make me wanna die seeing as how I was born after it was scraped I love sharks to I wanna be a marine Biologist when I grow up fully but thanks to the Harry Potter pricks I never will get to ride on this ride
Dark Pred Lost your pocket money? Have you even seen or read Harry Potter? No, you act like a five year old anyways so, AVADA KEDAVRA
TRIGGERED agree
WHAT???? they demolished it?? my childhood... it hurts....
Agreed I was told about this ride when I was young and heard about it.
I_Dropped_It it was taken out when Diagon Alley from Harry Potter was added
I_Dropped_It yeah, but kids now also deserve a childhood with the Harry potter section
I_Dropped_It like MCR
Bioshock666100 best part of the parks now. And I'm not even a fan of the franchise. But it's the best things about the parks now.
I loved this ride so much! If only my family had been able to go more often while it was around. Nowadays, we’ve left Disney and decided to always be going to Universal.
Oh you poor baby! What a conundrum!
late 1980s, Universal Studios Hollywood, that Jaws ride scared the $hlt out of me.... tipping boat + wrong side when that fake
@$$ shark comes out of water 😂😂
thesstype yep... then made me laugh in the late 1990s.
This was my favorite ride as a kid, my heart broke when they closed this and the universal monster show.
I last went the year before it closed and I was so thankful I got to experience it all one last time.
But I do understand why they used the area to make room for Diagon alley. They are a business, they saw this as an opportunity to make more money with a popular movie of our time.
It's sad but in thirty years I bet the diagon alley will be torn down as well for something more relevant
Lavendertail17 i know, but it is sad to see it go 😭
Agreed
Jokes on you, I got on this ride before. It will always remain in my heart.
I never forget universal studios California in 70s, remember the swirling black and white tube on tran ride made you dizzy, it was from a six million dollar man episode.
OMG I remember the first time I rode the Jaws ride!!! I was six years old, and I rode with my aunt. OMG I'm tearing up😂
Cassie Cc How old are you now?
Cassie Cc same 😂
I went on that ride so many times. It was awesome.
i swear if they even think of Jurassic park
The Creeper3000 u copied someone else
Tiki and Blossom im spreading the word
Tiki and Blossom get wrecked
Congrats u can copy other people's comments
i know
I actually did get to experience it and it was great! Thanks for sharing this awesome video! While these rides would routinely experience tech difficulty, the original universal studios was far better than today’s version.
Twister and that Earthquake one. Those were my childhood.
The animatronic grabbing and dragging the boat sounds terrifying
I rode the newer version when I was like 10 years old and now I don’t swim in the ocean. My friends are all like:
- Why are you so scared of water?
- Well... let’s just say I was on Universal Studios around 2010...
- What?
- Just watch a video on CZcams and pretend that you’re 10 and sitting on the left side of the boat...
Lilah Masterdotter same! Was around 2010 for me too, I was like 7 years old. And now I have a fear of water 🤙
I grew up going to that park. It was ALWAYS broken down.
My dad helped work on that ride and said it had constant problems.
@@alyssafoster4765 ya. Apparently the reason why it kept breaking down was that the mechanics were designed for freshwater, not saltwater.
I never knew there was a version prior to the one I rode as a kid - great video!
I didn't know Jaws was shut down! I'm so sad!
@Leigh Brady
For those freakin Harry Potter fans, you take down a classic for some expansion based on weird movies.
The expansion has something in common with a ride at Disney World called "Stitch's Great Escape!"
They both replaced classic rides that fans loved.
Kate Stardream stfu lol people like Harry Potter. your acting like a brat that can’t accept change
Stop complaining about how Harry Potter sucks because of the diagon alley closing JAWS, you see it's not the series fault, it's *universals* fault for this
It does suck though
shut up bitch
@@I41535D it's a good franchise but Jaws deserves a second chance.
@@jacob_filmmaker Exactly!
I agree 100%
“Yeah, but John, If the pirates of the Caribbean breaks down, the pirates don't eat the tourists!"
I liked the jaws ride... but I also love diagon alley...
I would have liked to go on it... But the Harry Potter rides are awesome!
Yeah its so whimsical man
Me too! It's soooo hard when people make me decide!
You’re right cause it was broke down when I went back in 91.
I like how everyone's saying "fuck the Harry Potter nerds" or "JAWS was better than Harry Potter" like if hp was bad they wouldn't have taken such a good ride down lmao
Iris Rodriguez everyone's mad because universal is turning into Harry Potter world for what used to be a theme park based on movies everyone knows and loves.
Nick River I think part of it is younger kids don't know the older movies. When I went in 2009 (I had just turned 10) I had never seen Jaws or heard of Twister so I wasn't too into those rides. Now I've seen both movies and would enjoy them if they were still there. If kids have to choose between something they know (which for the most part is Harry Potter) over something they may have been too young to see at the time (most young kids I know cant watch Jaws because its too scary for them).
It sucks for people that loved the older rides but Universal and most other places try to appeal to children or families with children.
Iris Rodriguez I never saw any Harry Potter book or movie
Beebo Blepbloop your missing out-- I suggest you at least watch the movies. It's such a great seris
Iris Rodriguez They only took Jaws down because they saw it as an opportunity to make more money by making the Diagon Alley and ride. Then again, when they see another opportunity, we'll probably say bye to HP.
I’ll never forget the E.T. ride. The queue where you wait for your turn was absolutely stunning. A mystical forest with sparkling lights and stars. So magical. The Jaws ride, on the other hand, I wish I could forget. I think I was maybe 12 years old, and it was absolutely terrifying. I had no idea it was going to be on an actual BOAT. The fire from the part with the explosion was hot as hell! Almost singed off my arm hair. There’s a part where you’re in some kind of shed and the sharks busts through the wall like the KoolAid man. I nearly crapped my pants! It’s a shame that it’s gone but I won’t exactly miss it
I remember the ET ride well - and it was because of the smell of it! I'm guessing it was because of the fog machines used maybe?? I don't know but I will never forget that smell lol. It was like... a humid, bleachy sort of stink! Hard to wxplain lol. It was neat though!
I think if universal had given the first company a chance .That ride would have been way more scary! ! ! ! I have to say it looked more realistic then the one they ended up with.
I feel in 10 years there's going to be a a video about the tower of tear now that it closed 😕
Lurvbff Vlogs Well don't worry about that!
Lurvbff Vlogs thats in Disney
Tower Of Terror not Tower Of Tear
I think is California, is closed for a guardians of the galaxy ride.
Samantha West What?
Jaws always gives me a good vibe and perfectly shows the meaning of Universal.
I loved the jaws ride
I rode this on my first trip to Studios in 93, so I guess I missed the first incarnation, but the ride did break down on the last scene where you come out of the boathouse. Our skipper made us cover our eyes so we didn't see the fried jaws and we went around a second time. Kudos to the skipper too bc he sold it...made it like "we gotta go back out to help...oh no he is attacking again" rather than just dropping the act when it malfunctioned.
Replacing a classic with Harry Potter wtf? I hope one day in the future they were bring back a Jaws ride like they did with King Kong after all those years
But I like Harry potter!
John 2017 same bro
John 2017 Disney did the same by replacing the Tower of Terror with a Guardians of the Galaxy themed ride.
At least Harry Potter is a new timeless classic. Compared to Guardians
Potter is better
My dad helped to build the dead shark model
prove it
BRUH
He actually did.
@@SwaggyDuck- can you prove it?
@chris Barnett which episode?
I got to ride that when i was ten. Scared the crap out of me at first, but when the boat girl shot the Shark I was cheering.
So happy I was able to ride this and King Kong when I was a kid. These videos are nothing compared to real life. The shark is so much larger in person and gets so close to the boat that I reached out and touched it (got reprimanded by the ‘skipper’, but it was worth it lol)
The Japaneses one has a gun on the boat that's so cool
Lali Vang When I was on the JAWS ride when I was little, the guy also used a fake shotgun on the ride.
Ash Eire that's cool
Yeah they had a gun on the Orlando one too I went when I was like 10
The American version had it too, one of the main parts of the ride narrative is the skipper trying to shoot Jaws with a grenade launcher.
Lali Vang you haven't lived until you've seen a tiny Japanese woman with a tiny voice shoot at a bigass shark with a shotgun.
I never knew that Diagon alley was where Jaws was. that explains some of the Amity Island adverts on the buildings. I wish I could've gone on it, but I guess the studio tours will have to do.
Everything in Hollywood today is about remakes , sequels etc ,redo a 21st century jaws theme ride! Today's technology would be much more impressive!! What is Universal Studios without Jaws.... I won't even go there until jaws comes back! Jaws Returns!
I know right?! The same goes for Back to the Future too!
Universal will never do a ride that doesn't rely on a giant screen. Cheap to operate, basic maintenance and upkeep, and easy to rebrand and replace as fashions change The days of animatronic-based immersion are long gone :(
I would think that due to Five Nights at Fredie's people would love things with animatronics.
Vincino Gstar moana
Vincino Gstar moonlight
Yes I knew of the original, but that’s because I was fortunate enough to actually work at at ride during my college years. I have such fond memories from my time working there and remember an original skipper talking about the original ride. I was devastated when they took it away and will always miss it. Thank you so much for this video!
There needs to be a jaws vs bigger jaws ride.
If you get the jaws vs bigger jaws reference you deserve a medal
This was my favorite attraction and will always be, I miss it
Who remembers the E.T. Ride.
I swear those were the good old times.
Back to the Future too
Me too I went on thd E. T ride was stunning breathtaking. When your on thd bike and the wind is on makes u feel like u where flying miss that but honoured to have experienced it
@@thisbequinn9903 Omg so true it actually felt so real and it was amazing too. I wish they brought it back cause it was just a classic ride honestly:) I was upset and sad when it got removed:(
I remember the ride I got the chance to experience it as a young boy, I still remember jaws coming out of the water unexpected and everybody jumping away from it! Best memories.
sadly ive never been to universal so i never got to ride it
Nintendokid 12 me either
It sucks
unlucky
I did but don't remember shit since I was so little. Pointless lol.
You weren't alive when it was open.. Don't lie. :)
Niether was I though so it's all good.
Well, I experienced it. It was great.
Jade butthead
Jade -scratches head curiously- Am I being complimented or insulted? Lol!!
Imagine if the ride was like what’s on the thumbnail.
Yes, please
I went on the jaws ride when I was 8 ish and I cried my eyes out so there's that
The original Jaws ride was better, it's a shame it's gone now and the Back to the Future ride too
wait there was a Back to the Future ride!?
Victoria Tabor yup! it was where the Simpsons ride is now. It's a shame though the Back to the Future ride was so good
Me and my pa went on the ride... I shit my pants
Wow I remember that ride!! It was fun but it was a little cheesy. The 90s were good times. And I’m shocked that the jaws ride is gone I do not now I haven’t been back since the 90s😂
The first time I visited Universal Studios Florida in 1991, when I was abt 8 or 9, the ride was completely shut down and there was a sign declaring it would reopen sometime in 1991. At the time, it was sad that it wasn't working but now we know the whole story.
12 years later, I went back to Orlando to go to school, and finally got to experience the Jaws Ride 2.0 and it became one of my favorite things at the park; I have many wonderful memories of riding it, from one skipper saying to the screaming man on the radio, "Thank you, Howard Dean!" to me screaming like a girl as I rode the attraction at nite after having a bit too much to drink.
I haven't been to Universal Orlando in 14 years and it just wouldn't be the same now that this signature ride is gone.
