    Its my "meh" vehicle! Its honestly been an amazing "meh" vehicle for me. Comfortable, reliable, can pull junk cars on a tow dolly great, and was a great deal when I bought it. I honestly like it more than my Sienna that it replaced.

      I paid 12k for mine about 7 or 8 months ago and coming from previously owning a 2021 Chevy Trax this actually didn't feel like too much of a downgrade for me. sure it had over 100k miles but it was very clean and you could tell the previous owner took care of it. as of late now I may only drive 15 miles a day now, I really don't go out that much anymore but I am happy with mine overall it gets decent fuel mileage and I like it had a 6 speed tranny that you can also shift manually if you'd like. I laughed when I first noticed the cd player because even in 2016 nobody was really using CD's anymore and I don't personally own a single one anymore and I'd never thought I'd ever own a car with one installed but here I am lol. all I've done is changed the oil and I had to replace a tire that I hit in a curb but it got paid for because of a lifetime tire warranty I bought that covers damage even at fault accidental like when I hit a curb but the new tire had I have had to pay for it cost over 200 bucks yikes! physically the car is fairly unremarkable, kinda like what the 99 Ford Taurus was when it came out sure it was new for it's time but the body was plain and unappealing visually compared to other cars of the era. I don't mind that though, I just blend in. one thing that does bother me is Kia theft is rampant in my town and I live in a apt complex and I although the dealer said they installed new anti theft system in the car so some punk with a USB cable can't steal it while I'm in bed, I did go ahead and get a locking club for the steering wheel that gives me peace of mind that any potential Kia thief would see that big yellow bar on my steering wheel and just move along to something else. I actually got the club for free from my local police because they are so sick of dealing with stolen kias they want us to be proactive and I think that's a great idea. anyway I plan on owning it for years honestly as long as nothing major breaks or it gets into a accident but with so little I drive anymore I don't see that happening -fingers crossed-. I'm happy with what I paid for it considering at the time used cars around my price range were all very high mile above 150k or well over 10 years old which I didn't want so I jumped on the opportunity to pick this up when I saw it

    Looks better than most overstyled Kias sold today. V-6 just works

    The cool thing about these is that Kia was one of the first vendors to support CarPlay/Android Auto through SW updates, so if you have the navigation system in your 2015-2016 Kia/Hyundai, you can usually update them to get it. My 2015 Optima Hybrid was one of the first to get the update to have carplay on the navigation unit.

    The Lock button for the AWD system is simply telling the car to keep a 50:50 torque split between the front and rear wheels under a certain speed, whereas when unlocked it's just putting power back there in certain situations.

    • @wigletron2846
      @wigletron2846 Před 10 měsíci

      Idk why Zack thinks it's an uncommon thing. Almost every awd on demand vehicle has that lock button.

      I bought it with a bit over 180K and was surprised how nice it was besides the steering wheel wear. Glad the previous owner actually took care of it. I actually called the shop that was on the windshield oil change and they went over the service history with me before I bought it.

    Kia's V6 engines are some of, if not the most reliable V6's on the market.

    • @TheCarHornMaster
      @TheCarHornMaster Před 9 měsíci

      No, GDI engines are all junk and nobody wants to fix them when they blow up. If you want a reliable car with a V6 go get a Toyota or Honda.

    This is right before Kia really got serious about making good cars. If these hold together they're decent transportation and that's all that's really needed. It's fine and that's all it needs to be.

    I have a 2017 Sorento SX. I did have to replace the ecm which was under warranty but other than that it has been a very good car. Goes great in snow. Mine has adaptive cruise and Apple car play. The one thing I don’t like is the setup of the climate controls. In the EX trim it has its own display but when you move up to SX the only climate display is the main center console screen so if I want to see what the climate is set to I have to switch from Apple car play/ navigation and so on. One thing to note is there are levers on the side in the tail gate area to lower the third row. You only need to use the pull strings to raise them.

    • @istaynoided
      @istaynoided Před 10 měsíci +4

      yeah, especially for this year, it's waaaaay below average
      Quite a lot of engine issues, and A/C units and suspension components would wear out prematurely. Reliability of this generation did improve after the 2016 model year though, but they're experiencing more issues with the current generation (specifically the 2.5T with the dual clutch)

    • @aenoymotors
      @aenoymotors Před 10 měsíci +4

      So I checked with Kia and the car has had zero warranty claims in it's life. The repair shop that serviced it most of it's life also said it hasn't ever needed anything out of the ordinary. Heck, since I've had it I've only had some fluids changed for preventative maintenance and it had the trailer hitch wiring and the Kia Boyz software patch under recall so those were free. It's towed a Dodge Dakota and a Dodge Spirit on a tow dolly with ease, numerous trips to St. Louis, and out to Sandusky, Ohio (I live near Rockford, IL) with no issues at all. It's a great family car. Zero complaints.

      @Jonathan-mp32x The 2.4L Theta 2 engine was very sensitive to proper oil changes. Every single case of ticking on those engines is because people didn't keep up with the oil change intervals.

  • @firesnake6311
    @firesnake6311 Před 10 měsíci +2

    I just wanna say it, GDI engines are trash, they need way more maintenance than a normal mpfi engine, also if have the car
    Just keep it in mind that you have to wash the intake valve every now and then with the special fluid or whatever that is,
    Also you have to change oil more often and also always use high octane gasoline and if you ever faced the problems that normally with GDI happens just swap it with a similar non GDI one

    • @TheRealCatof
      @TheRealCatof Před 9 měsíci

      Their V6s are among the most reliable. Their only bad 4 cylinder was the Theta 2 engine, and it was only unreliable if you didn't change the oil like most poor people.
