  • Our RZR 1000 XP4 has been having some top speed issues so we took it apart and did some troubleshooting. We found the primary clutch spider nut was loose. We show how to take apart the primary clutch, how to torque everything properly, and what tools it takes.

      Hey man, my Rzr is also doing the same thing. It’s a 2017 and doesn’t go more than 45 mph. What did you end up finding in yours?

    If you turn the primary clockwise you can screw up your timing on the engine use an impact

    Great video. What is the part number for the spider tool that you used to remove the spider and hold the clutch in the vise. Thanks!

    My rzr 1000 red lines when it hits 50 and power steering light turns on. Everyone telling me it’s the spider nut what do you guys think.

    Can you tighten the spider nut without tearing it as far down as you did? Just remove the clutch and tighten it?

      Curious about this too… having the same issue

    • @BDUBSOFFROAD
      @BDUBSOFFROAD Před 2 lety

      @@benmiller8178 I did attempt it myself. I was able to leave the clutch on. I just removed that front plate along with those 6 bolts that hold it on. and tightened the spider nut back up. No issues.

      @@BDUBSOFFROAD thanks for the update. I just got a 2019, and it hits a "limiter" at 60mph. Seems like my spider nut may be loose as well???

    • @BDUBSOFFROAD
      @BDUBSOFFROAD Před 2 lety

      @@stevebollman most likely, that’s what mine did, it’s like it’s completely maxed out in RPM at around 60mph. You could probably take your belt cover off, and look in the primary clutch, and be able to see if the spider nut has backed off or not.

      @@BDUBSOFFROAD that was my problem exactly. I called the dealership that I got it from and the took it apart, and found the spider nut all but back completely off. Picked it up earlier today and it runs fine.
      Thank you for the update
