A good idea is to cover the grate with tape when putting in the cement, then remove once the job is done and dry. Saves cleanup

Always good to go back when it's raining to capture footage of the drain working to show in the video.

Get yourself a mortar gun for filling in the sides saves a lot of work - great video 👍

Great work. Put some masking tape over the drain during install to keep the concrete out.

If you left my drive looking like that with patches of cement everywhere you'd be paying for the removal of the patches. A good job is a tidy job and that is far from tidy

Hello, great video - many thanks for taking the time. A question, you're using a 110mm reducer, but doesn't the end cap take a 90mm socket?

Its meant to sit on a concrete bed not mortar. Why mortar bed?

Why do the channels bend upward after clipped together? When you clip more than three both ends bend upwards. If you press it flat it just disconnects

For long runs, I think I've used 3 m lengths. Less joints = better

How much would a job of this size typically cost if hiring someone?

What size grinder blade did you use to cut into the concrete?

I have a bend in my trench. I need to connect 2 drain pieces at a slight angle. How can I do that?

I've cut them with a circular saw before and finished with a handsaw. I cover all external parts of joints with cloth tape before pushing into mortar/concrete because even the clip-together joints are not sealed enough to prevent a little slurry from entering the joint when you're pushing it down in case a long drain flexes a little at a joint. So tape your joint on outside or care not to overfill bedding and place each section in, then silicon your joint from inside before filling sides.
