Dude this video is the opposite of boring thanks for taking us along on your watch. Keep it up!
entertaining fr keep uploading please bro
I have absolutely no connection to fishing at all but these videos & ur TikTok’s are probably the only thing In a while I have really enjoyed watching
@@peac That means a lot thank you. I appreciate you saying that
“We’re grinding, fuck it” is my new motto at work 😂
@@frenchie4882 hahah heck yeah sometimes it calls for it 😂
Jake, ask your dad if he remembers a crabber vessel named “The Fierce Contender “ from the mid eighties (86/87 on) it was a converted mud boat from Morgan City LA. I was involved with the acquisition, refit and transit from MC LA to Astoria Oregon and then on to Dutch.. Them was some serious dysfunctional times 😂 just a note, I was 27 in 86 and came from a farming family and had never been more than a mile off the shore of the pacific.. it took 36 days at sea to make transit from LA. To Astoria and I seriously puked for 36 days😂😭
Working on the BMW’s in the garage and my favorite fisherman posted a video. It’s a good day 😂
Sleep & eat when you can. Nice video. I’ve just started following you & like your content. Showing us everything that goes on.
This video is a clear example of why i love CZcams
Always a joy watching your videos! Sorry to hear about the main! Hopefully a quick fix🙏🏻💙💪🏽🐟
I agree I love watching your son videos he Amazing Absolutely love your family so much always have my love and support from kerrie 😘
That's pretty intense and a tough job. Thanks for sharing the life as a fisherman.
I think it was very interesting it's neat to see what you do as a commercial fisherman
Bro, loving these videos. You introducing the different instruments was super nice. Love getting those insights you wouldnt get anywhere else.
Sleeping in that compressor room is some of the best rest. I used to sleep next to refinery crude pumps.
I find this so down to earth and genuinely engaging, keep doing what you doing!
Thank you for the video! Very cool to see how a fisherman lives and works.
First time in a while ive been able too sit in my room chill relax and enjoy a video thats actually interesting!
very nice content Jake!! long form isn't boring at all, very informative and good pace imo. super well made vids so hope to see you pop!! cheers from Finland! 😎
This is so rad, love watching this
Dude I’ve been watching your shorts for some time but this is the first I’ve seen a full video. Very entertaining and informative thank you for showing me a different perspective in to a life I’ve never lived. Very cool man 👏
I really enjoyed this! Hearing about the instrumentation and what their signals mean was pretty cool. It's great to hear you vocalize your idle thoughts when you're on watch in the pilothouse when there's no 'action', feels cozy and relatable since I bet a lot of people have those moments when we just talk out loud like that (This fried rice is so good!). Subscribed! Hope you have fair seas!
@@thegreaseman404 I appreciate this comment! Thank you 🙏🏼
Loving the content bro. Looking forward to more. Such a young cap too. Well done 👍
Love these vids. Keep making them and I will keep watching. Stay safe 🙏
Damn I thought I was the first haha.
Keep em coming Jakob. Appreciate the videos.
Can't wait to see more
Awesome. Hopefully this inspires more fisherman to do a video. Love to see crab fisherman videos.
This is awesome to see, definitely something different. And the video quality is great I know you were saying you weren’t very happy with it in a couple of the last videos but it’s good man keep it up!
Another great video!!
i was literally just thinking it would be neat to watch a channel about a commercial fishing vessel. Really cool!
@@Itz.Cheeks Thank you! Glad you’re here 🤟🏼
not a boring video this is fire
I love this kind of content. Honestly you're making me want the job. Lol
Turns out having the hiccups comes from a response we had back before we had evolved from fish. I’m not sure the details but I was told once that if you have the hiccups just remind yourself you aren’t a fish and they’ll go away. Works about 90% of the time for me.
Loved this video. Very interesting what all the screens do
Good shit
Like these types of videos ! Keep up the hard work!
Loved this wacthn from new Zealand 🇳🇿
Liked and subbed perfect pov and super interesting i loved it keep the vids up bud 🤘

It’s very informative. I think I’m going to like your channel
Awsome video!!!
Deck camera was actually SO clutch
Good shit man.
Like this sort of content... Gives us a behind the scenes look and why you do what you do etc
Pretty interesting video mate :-) thank you
love your vids man
Cool video, thanks.
great video dawg
Nice work Will Poulter 🔥
Thanks 🤣
Good vid man thanks
Super cute guy!
Looked like your port wing was way off the bottom! Hope you guys didn’t tow all night for that small bag… heard it was slow out there lately, didn’t know it was that slow!
Good footage!
Cool video
What is the technical name for the type of drag net you guys are using? I’m just curious of the correct terminology. Is it a pelagic trawl net?
I worked at UniSea i remember your boat.
Howdy Jakob, are yall hiring for next summer? Im serious please let me know! Badass videos!
Keep up the good work man I love all your work came here from insta!
yo i got my ab and all my stcw endorsments along with my 200t captains license after some sea time (I tested at the 200t level) what i gotta do to get a job, you guys look ,like you know your stuff
So are you in Alaska right now cause if it's night time and it's that bright out you are definitely in the Arctic Circle other things you said it was impossible to sleep when the boat is pitching violently in the seas Couldn't you guys have a couple sea keepers installed it won't do anything for the outer Stern rocking but it will do a lot for the side to side rocking
sick video
Big energy drink guy here myself. Wanna know what’s way cheaper and works a lot better than redbull? Throw a scoop of 5150 pre workout in about 10oz of water. Strongest energy drink I’ve ever seen. That or Hyde energy drinks.. only stuff I’ve found that compares to what redlines use to be.
FEESH!
How far can your boat go from the shore?
Yeah all yachts and vessels have AIS that are a certain lengthanks and gross tonnage And you want to see the AIS in the Marina it just looks like one big red blurcaso yachts are parked up but they leave their ais system on
This vid lit
What type of weapons you got on board
Bro you gotta try the colored redbulls. Wayy better than then normal ones
I want to work on the boat it looks like lots of fun
Oh so you stop the radar to figure out what's beneath you I have a Doppler system on my yacht that I use it for weather of course we do have rods and reels on the yacht but we're not professional fishermen and as far professional fishing boats I'm not too familiar with them it may not be physically possible to put sea keepers on them or have a bridge with a dayhead on it. By the way is your fishing vessel fitted with a Forward infrared looking radar system?
When’s the next vid coming out bro!
Which fish is that ??? Is that same fish aur different types of fish?
What is the name of your boat??
What about standard 8 hour shifts we're taking watch I have a professional captain on my yacht and a crew but I'm also a licensed captain so I will take a watch I'm one of the few well-to-do people out there who actually is a bit of an owner-operator of his own mega yacht even though I keep a full crew And a professional captain
Deadliest catch
Got a trick for hiccups for ya, gently place your pinky fingers on your eyelids to the point where they're just barely touching and count to 30. Its worked for me every single time.
If that ship isn't N54 powered then ion want it 😂
Take warning always easier to prepare for the worst especially when it comes to mother nature
Thanks.
You have a good ass job bro cool to man
how do you make sure the right kind of fish ends up in the net?
Who cares?
@@ethan7353i mean it looks like he cares that's why he asked
If you got peanut butter on the ship eat a spoon full of it and the hiccups go away
when you have the hiccups eat a spoon of sugar & they go away every time i promise
I was that 300th like
Judging how far the stern is from the rear Brin shwindows I would say your vessels about a 145 feet long I could be wrong
Get use to it n make longer ones videos
I wish to live/work on boats.
💰💰
How would one get into a career like this without knowing the right people?
So there is no day head on the bridge. One thing I specified on my build was to have a full head with a walk in shower on the bridge cause the dynamic can turn into a birth with a curtain that pulls around for privacy and there's also a television place to hang clothes so we take on an extra person beyond what our cabins will allow we have a birth for them And I'm one of the few people who had his yacht built so the master state room is at midships at the lowest deck for the least amount of pitching and rolling even though I do have a full set of sea keepers and Finn stabilizers One of the other things I specified that the captain's quarters must have a queen-sized bed must have a large TV and a sitting area beyond just a little patch of carpet and a full head with a bathtub it can be a bath shower combo which it is The VIP state room and the master state room has the Bathtubs in them and there's a tub room in the crew area for when they want it take a bath but they have full on sweets in their quarters with walking shower
