- In this tutorial I'll show you how to make a Rey costume. Had requests for this from Sally, Lucy, and Starkid12895. I kind of combined the Force Awakens and the Rise of Skywalker costumes (what I've seen in the trailers anyway). I liked the simplicity of the Force awakens Rey costume (no hood), but I like the shorter arm wraps of the Rise of Skywalker version. So this is a cross between the two. If you want to be more specific to either of the movies, you can do so easily enough with just a tweak or two.
I didn't end up doing the shoes for this costume as I haven't found a pair that looked enough like them. But I check 2nd hand shops frequently, and I'll locate a pair before I actually wear this costume out anywhere. But for now, it's shoesless ;-)
(And thanks to my brother for agreeing to be Luke at the end)
MATERIALS USED:
A yard and 1/2 of off white fabric (will depend on your height and fabric width as well)
Scissors
Sewing machine or needle and thread
Sticky backed velcro (amzn.to/2FKQHyk)
Fake leather/distressed fabric
Off-white shirt and pants (found mine in a 2nd hand shop for a few dollars)
Two belts
Brown pouch (I used a binoculars case)

*** The materials listed above are the products I actually used for this project. I find that people often want to know exactly what I use, so I've started including exact links when I can find them. However, it's simply meant as a guide and you can substitute with whatever comparable brands/products you might have available in your own area. Also some of the links may be affiliate links, which means I may receive a small commission from the company if a sale is made. It doesn't cost you any extra; it's just a simple way to help support my work on this channel. (I just figured, hey, as long as I was posting the links anyway, I might as well make them affiliate links)

i love Rey cause she knows her true destiny once she get into the force and your brother as master Luke sky walker at the end was pure genius :D
I usually have trouble convincing anybody to be in these, but when I asked my brother to do Luke, he was all for it, lol.
@@Thewoodlandelf may the forced be with you and your family and friends for this holiday season :D
Love the end! Lol
Thanks, we had a lot of fun with it 😊
Nice
Thanks 😊
I loved this costume but can you do a tutorial on Luke’s robotic hand?
Yeah, as Jesse said, the one my brother had here was just one of those plastic robot hands; not something I made. I think Chris Farley used the same one in the movie Tommy Boy, lol.
Oh ok i will try to find one thx!
I have an idea for your next build. With the popularity of The Mandalorian I’ve found plenty of rifle builds... helmet builds... and baby Yoda builds, but other than 3D, which I have no interest in no ones doing The Mandalorian Blaster Pistol 🔫. You did a great job on Boba Fett rifle, Chewies Rifle and even Star Lords Quad Blasters, perhaps you may give this ago?
Yeah, I'll add it to my to-do list. I haven't seen the Mandalorian yet; is it the same pistol Jengo has, or should I head to Google to find some pics?
The Woodland Elf different from Jengos. Definitely need to google it... lol. Tons of pics. Many of the 3D folks have nailed it but I am hoping for a foam/cardboard version so it will be con friendly.
Ok, I'll google it then. But yeah, I'm sure it'll end up as cardboard or foam; they're my go-to crafting materials, lol.
Just posted a cardboard version of the blaster pistol, hope you enjoy it.
How to make the staue of liberty costume.
I'll add it to my list.
also, rey is totally a death eater
Yes, the dark side of the force calls to her 😉
I love the costume, not at big fan of the hairy leg.
If you don't like hairy legs, you can always just shave your legs. Easy solution 😉
