I have a 2014 kymco super 8 I bought it used for 800 bucks it was like brand new I love it rides like a little sport bike
D best thing about this scooter is its stability, owing to the fact that its big and a bit heavier than other models in the market. The only downside is its poor fuel consumption because its not fuel injected.
I got the new generation 2022 super 8 150 and love it. And considering I’m 52 and I’ve owned Harley touring bikes and several suzuki hayabusas and dragraced bikes for years in competition so that should go along way for saying how good of a bike Kymco makes. After all, they were in partnership with Honda on building scooters like 30 years ago roughly, so I’m sure they learned a think or too. If anyone is unaware, Kymco is Taiwan made not China. They are considered high quality just like Taiwanese machine tools like mills and lathes are considered high quality among machinists.
I want to ride the earlier super 8 like you have with the 14” wheels to compare. Mine only has 12” wheels but even though it still handles great. Honestly it rides like a small sport bike. At the motorcycle shop where I work we have 2 Honda Grom shop bikes and my Kymco rides much better and is faster till 45. Mine tops at 55mph where the Grom is a few mph faster up top!
I'm sorry but I just have to ask how you got yours up to 55mph, I got the same exact model but mime only tops out at 35mph??
Is it a 150cc or a 50cc? If it’s a 50 that’s about right. If it’s a 150 and only goes 35mph then something is drastically wrong. I’ve rode several scooters of all sizes and 30-40 is where a stock 50cc 4stroke runs. 125-150 will go 50-60mph and over 150 can hit 65+. What year is yours and did you buy it new or used, give me some details and we can probably figure it out. Mine is bone stock for now. It’s a 22 model and had 1200 miles when I got it used off the original owner.
These scooters are the best they are beautifull looks like a sportbike

Hi I got myself just 2hours a go a kymco super 8 when I ordered the scooter only thing I asked want to get rid of all restrictions and no problem it drives very fast
What restrictions is it that you speak of
@@yodubba I'd like to know too. I just got a super8 150 and it tops out around 60 on the highway. It'd be nice to go 65 but I don't believe this is like a go-kart with some child governor on it. It would probably require more money and mod parts to go faster. Maybe Rich called and told dealer to get rid of all restrictions and the dealer said, "For your sir, not a problem." My dealer seemed willing to tell me I was handsome if it meant closing the deal.

I wish people in my local Pennsylvania are were more sensible with pricing,... I see 50cc Chinese scooters being advertised for the same price as new & a guy is trying to sell a 2009 Kymco Super 8 for $1600 as we come into Winter,... Crazy !
you can buy a new scooter for that price. are you looking for a 50cc scooter? new kymco agility is 1800 dollars and youll get a two year warranty..

I have done research on a Chinese TaoTao 150cc & am going to buy one soon because I want to tinker with performance mods but I would buy a used Kymco if the price was right.

Does this scooter not have any engine lights? How does the scooter let you know if the engine is overheated or something? Or doesn't it?
Most do not, some will have a lil temp gage but smaller displacement scoots almost never do. It’s kinda like owning a lawn motor, you just guess

@@nemanjatosovic I'm about to upgrade to a Kymco super 8 125 from a Kymco VJR 110, which has 60 000 km on it so it's really due for replacement. This scooter has an engine light, an oil light and even a digital dashboard which displays which error code you have (out of 24 error codes!). So getting a super 8 sadly feels like a downgrade now.

is it easy to work on?
Fairly easy, getting parts can be a bit more difficult in the US, however.
This is a simple scoot with an air cooled engine so you can basically tear it apart with a 10,12 abd 14 mm wrench lol.

@@nemanjatosovic ...but I have never seen a scooter speedo that was not 8% - 10% too high. Try driving beside a nice car that has an accurate speedo....EDIT..Thanks..GPS is pretty ok if doing a few km ride.
@@jamesconner3437 indicator will show 60-62 but my gps had me at 56 top speed.
@@nemanjatosovic I get the same with my GPS, if I get some tail wind and duck my head down I can get 62-63 mph

I’m 6’ 2” and fit my next newer gen super 8 150 just fine. Honestly they are really nimble bikes. I’m 52 yrs old and have been riding and racing all my life practically and have had everything from little 250s to Harley touring bikes and many different suzuki gsxr to Hayabusa and honestly if your just needing to get around town this super 8 is hard to beat. It’ll beat every car off the line (as long as they aren’t going wide open) at stop lights so maneuvering through traffic is easy. Mine stock goes 55mph so it’s fast enough for any city street and I’ve even jumped on the interstate if I only need to go like a few miles up the road and get back off in a few exits. They really aren’t made for interstates, IMHO, cause at those speeds you are maxing the scoot out and there’s no reserve power left for overtaking or getting out of situations. But I live in a pretty big city. If you live in a less populated city then that might be different on the highways for you! But the ease of scooters in regards to riding, low maintenance, and being able to just jump on twist and go is hard to beat again in my opinion!

@@bluemoondiadochi ali ako gledas jer mozda mislis da uzmes super osmicu, ok je motor, jedino me smaralo to sto sam karburator morao da vadim kad god bi motor duze stajao, valjda se gorivo pokvari. osim toga sve je radilo kako treba.
