Anil, Montreal is cheaper than Toronto in terms of Rent, Car Insurance and beers :) These factors drive our expenses.

Guys please remember this why u guys compare india expenses to canda expenses just don't keep in mind 1 dollar = 50rs . Your wasting time and what items u want to purchase because u r earning money much high compare to india explain normal software engineer earn 25k compare canda u will earn 15000 dollar per month it is plenty enough
And a normal burger cost 120 rs but in Canada 6 dollar it will explain what kind of different I compare price via McDonald's price list

Harish, True! Doorapu kondalu nunupu. But imagine how many of our countrymen are saving 1 lac per month in India? If you are in a high paying job back in India, it doesn't make sense to move here from financial perspective. See our video on "Is it worth moving to Canada?". We tried to unravel the reality.

Your relative in Toronto is right. 12 to 15 lakhs saving per year is a fair number provided you earn 5000 CAD per month. Expenses here will be around 3000$ and 2000$ goes into savings which is 1.2 lac rupees per month..

You find telugu community everywhere across Canada. Students living in telugu community depends on where you get admission (which province, which College / University, % of native population etc.). You will figure out where to live once you get admission. Not a big deal. Also it is good to mix up with different communities to improve our connections and know their culture.

Health is covered by Govt (Consultation, Hospitilization). However Drugs are not covered under health insurance plan. If you are working for any Canadian company, drugs will be covered by private insurance as per company policies (Usually 85% co-insurance)
