DP/DR can be unsettling, for sure. Our recent SKYPE Live discussion has a segment about DP/DR. That video will likely be posted this coming week. It has some good information about it.
Thanks so much for this content, it is helping me immensely. I have ASD, so am more prone to anxiety disorders, and I also have a traumatic past including sexual and emotional abuse within my family. This year after getting a new job I have had a return of hissing, ringing, buzzing feeling in my head. It is absolutely debilitating. Your site has the only info that described my symptom to a tee (feeling/sound in the middle of my head rather than my ears, I have tinnitus so I know the difference), it gave me hope. I've been really hopeless, suicidal and depressed, impacting the job which is so important for me. Your content is saving me. I have had these symptoms before, about 5 years ago, so I know I can recover, but it feels so hopeless going through it. Thanks again for giving me an alternative to just dealing with it. I've been wondering whether I should quit my job for weeks, but lack of money might cause it's own stress. Also, I am glad that the caller was able to respond to being told her ear worms weren't anything to worry about and essentially being laughed at by one of the people present. Suffering is relative, so comparison is really futile. Lets not talk about trading, lets be empathetic to suffering and heal.
You are very welcome. We're glad you are finding our information helpful. I would suggest working with a therapist to make complete recovery. Traumatic and abusive pasts most often set up behaviors that create anxiety and stress. Working through those behaviors can remove that anxiety and stress. I had to do that work myself. So many other anxious people have had to, as well. Past trauma and abuse is a common background shared by many anxious people. It's no wonder we develop issues with anxiety, stress, and symptoms.
I can’t believe I came across this becuse I have had the songs repeating for literally years. As soon as my focus comes off something, there is the song part. And my mind picks up whatever new song or sound I hear and grabs that one. I honestly don’t feel anxiety though. I feel like the ONLY thing that causes the anxiousness ARE the symptoms. I have eye issues, flashes floaters seeing colors. That to me is maddening.
I feel like I’ve reached the maximum depth of anxiety and DP. The biggest thought I cling to is that I will eventually recover, but will continue to be trapped in this 24/7 cycle of thinking about my thinking. I see others mentioning ruminating on different topics, but I can’t stop thinking about my actions and most importantly, my own thinking. I fear that even when I’m 100% healed, if I even just THINK about the fact that I used to be in this cycle of thinking about my thinking, then it’ll result in a downward spiral that’ll keep me in this forever. “Wow the anxiety used to make me think about my thinking. Oh wait, now I’m thinking about my thinking” and end up back in the same stupid cycle and back to the vicious ruminating and obsessing over that. Is this the anxiety? Does this go away when you recover? Do you get back to normal thoughts even when sitting idle?
You can, but you'd like need to work with an experienced therapist to help you extinguish the fear and break the cycle. That's usually not something we can do without professional help. I used have many thoughts like that. I haven't had them for years.
Great video, my biggest symptoms are in the eyes non stop blurry vision. Would you guys ever consider doing on video on vision and how it's affected by anxiety?
We are planning on doing videos for all anxiety symptoms. In the meantime, you can learn more about the cause of "blurry vision" here: www.anxietycentre.com/anxiety-disorders/symptoms/blurred-distorted-foggy-vision/
@@anxietycentre Thankyou so much, Ive never cried so hard in my life reading this. I've had blurred vision for a year so bad I can't watch tv or hardly drive and I'm 32. A year ago I could see clearly, I want my life back but can't stop the fear it's so bad. Thankyou so much you don't know how much you have helped me I wish I could speak to you one day.
Hi Chris I really feel for you and indeed vision problems are one of the worst a year and a half ago my vision was perfect than i started having vignette vision and important saturated image (where colours are abnormaly vivid and Intense) and it's constant up to now also I started having fog in one eye but comes and goes after weeks it's hard yes and most when eye doctors say all is fine
When the pain hits... after slight recovery... I feel like I will never recover. It's like a little devil on my shoulder saying "you will never recover" I know that it is possible to recover from this but after a return of pain, it's hard to remain hopeful. God please give me grace!
That's a common scenario where persistent symptoms can make us worry that we'll never get better. But it's the worry that keeps us stuck. When we focus on containing worry and reducing stress, symptoms subside in time. That's the reality we can place our trust in, which can keep us heading in the right direction.
Question for Jim Folk, you mentioned you saw and heard hallucinations, when you recovered from your anxiety did those completely go away, meaning 30 years now that you are recovered do you still have them? Thank you.
I get wheezing and I feel like no one else does. I’ve had this for years and been tested for asthma at least twice and I’m negative. It feels so lonely when you can’t find anyone else who shares the symptoms you do
Wheezing can be a subtle form of allergy. Have you been tested for allergies or seen an allergy specialist? Of course, anxiety-caused stress can play a role, too, for some people.
@@anxietycentre I do have food and seasonal sensitivities. It’s my most hated symptom, and I’m sure having anxiety makes the wheezing so much more than what it truly is.
Chest pain, heart palpitation, losing control, negative thoughts, fear, omg i am here with all the symptoms since last year.. ECG negative blood test was fine and CBC blood test fine but why still symptoms are right there?
Chronic anxiety symptoms are caused by chronic stress (hyperstimulation). If a person hasn't dealt with Level Two recover concepts or significantly reduced stress, symptoms can persist even if a person doesn't feel anxious or stressed at that moment. You can read more about hyperstimulation here: www.anxietycentre.com/anxiety-disorders/symptoms/hyperstimulation/
I didn't, but many people do. Addressing your anxiety issues and hyperstimulation will allow the digestive system to return to normal. Sometimes a person might have to work with a Nutritional Science Practitioner to restore normal gut flora before things improve.
Hi Emeline! Rather than a book, we developed the information in our Recovery Support area. It's laid out like a book but has much more information than a book. It's also available to anyone around the world 24/7. We opted for online information because it's much more environmentally friendly than a paper book.
Full honesty, i would fully trade dp and dr for every single anxiety symptom there is. They are the worst symptoms i have and they are SO intense.
