  • The olympus AF-1 super is a classy 35mm point and shoot camera which is perfect for a budget photographer looking for a razor sharp camera that never misses. the f 2.8 lens (same as the famous MJU) and quick moving advance makes this one of the best budget point and shoots with the olympus branding.

Very nostalgic for Olympus point and shoot cameras. My mum used the AF 1 as our holiday camera. I inherited it years later and I still own it.

If you get a change to buy a AF-1 mini I would highly recommend it. There is only one problem. The battery door is designed so flimsy that you are super lucky to find one that is still in working condition. I just use tape to close it on mine. It's weather sealed and uses regular AA batteries and same lens as olympus mju.

Shouldn't it be possible to print a DX code sticker for say, ISO400 and put on the film roll if you want to use the experimental film stock? 🤔 Anyway, cool video! Which film stock did you use for the nice beach photos?

possible but also inconvenient/ tricky for most, i’ve never tried it before but been meaning to. I was shooting ultra max 400 as well i’m pretty sure

@@matt_tube Oh yeah, definitely inconvenient 😁 but still a quite cool possibility and workaround.

I'm living in Japan so I got it like new in mercari for 30$ and I just waiting until tomorrow to receive the battery and a Marix 800 tungsten film (equivalent to a Cinestill 800T) but for the falf price. So I'm exciting to start taking pictures here at night. 🏯⛩️🌆

do you think theres a difference between the super and the quartz date? i just bought the regular but i hope i didn't make the wrong choice

i’m pretty sure they are very similar, i think the AF-1 super has small upgrades like a faster flash recharge and macro mode that the quartzdate doesn’t have, but the quartzdate looks superb anyway! same great lens and nice design so i’m sure you’ll be fine!!
