That's not true at all, you need 6 violins to match one single flute
@@manydelmal I don't think that's true, in most cases, the instruments like trumpets and saxes drown our the flutes because they are louder and use more power. violins are stringed instruments, not wind, so it'd make sense for them to be a little quieter than flutes. Plus they have high notes that are hard to hear.

When people call a RECORDER a flute
Other instruments people consider a flute:
A piccolo
Fife
Or just any instrument that is long with holes
It's no excuse but for example in french, both the flute and recorder are called ''flûtes''
Juste that the recorder is a ''flûte à bec'' (spout flute) and the flute is ''flûte traversière'' (transversal flute)
I don't know, might be the same in other languages and source of confusion ^^
Ankhe same in portuguese. We use “flauta doce” for recorder, which literally means sweet flute. So I was very confused when I discovered that it is called recorder in english lol
I’ve never been asked any of those other than “how do you make a sound” from my friends trying to play my flute/piccolo

Just bought a flute as a guitar player who loves to learn new instruments. I’ve picked up nearly every stringed instrument associated with American songbooks, as well as organ, piano etc. and have since moved to clarinet and most recently flute. your channel is excellent!!

Just like when people compare clarinet to the recorder.
I would just like to clarify that it is not saliva that hides in the instrument that is the flute, it is moisture from the humid air you blow into the flute. And no it does not stay inside, because it is bad for the flute, you clean out all of the moisture when you are finished playing. Thanks for listening to my ted talk.
P.S. After a bit of thinking, I realized that is it quite weird to believe spit is the wet stuff in the flute, considering you blow across the lip plate. Anyways, clean your instrument fellow musicians, I wish yu the best of luck on your journey with music. Fairwell
