We must clock 400K + subscribers on this Caribbean trip 🎉🎉🎉
Yes in Jesus Name we blv
Yes, we can do it by sharing and telling friends about this channel.
Yes Inshaallah
By fire by force! 😅
Barbados is a microcosm of what can be achieved when African people love and respect each other. We are stronger together, when we lift each other up! We won’t need security because we become our brothers keepers. ✊🏿
Very well said!
I have always said that Barbados is a model country, good call on "Barbados is a microcosm of what can be achieved"
I like dah. Amen🙏🏿👊🏿
Indeed Caribbeans are very Sweet and lovely people ,Trudy you and your husband are blessed and loved by everyone ❤❤❤
We are. 🇬🇩 here
@@diannastanislaus1441Seasons Greetings to Our Sister Island Grenada from Barbados. Wishing you a Happier and Healthier New Year
Thanks so much
@marlenepollard4982 thank you
Fun times all around. Barbados is now on my bucket list.
I advise people to go on a cruise that way you'll get to see many islands - not all of them but many.
Oh! You would love it! 😍
"Cheese on bread!" I'm missing my island home. Miss Trudy, please remember to say hello to everyone you see, otherwise they will think you're rude. Btw, our fences are more decorative than protective.
We falling in love with Barbados.the kind of humility, love, peace oneness is on onother level. This is the place during holidays
I am half Kenyan and half Grenadian. Can't wait to see if you visit Grenada.
To say I am jealous is such an understatement. This is the island that gave us the legendary Riri ....they are such authentic people....😍😍
The history of slave trade makes me feel sad.
Don't be sad. It's an opportunity for us to take over the world. We are everywhere.
@@user-pk3oq7ow4kEXACTLY! This should be the mindset for real. The only thing sad about slavery is the mistreatment & hash realities faced by the black race.❣️♥️❣️♥️
@@The_Cruise_Fam "the only thing sad about slavery"???? Everything about slavery was EVIL & BARBARIC.
Omg! You speak like you know so much about this place! Have you been here?
@@MissTrudyy I reside in the UK which is home to many folk from the Carribean Islands. I have friends fro Barbados, Jamaica, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago..etc. They all share one thing in common. Love of good food, music, hospitality unmatched....
Thanks for sharing our beautiful Caribbean culture and Christmas traditions, so much food, togetherness, and love. Grenada is representing here. Similar practices. Oh, how I miss home just watching this video. I swear Caribbean Christmas is the best. Seasons greetings, everyone 🎉
Thanks for the positive vibes. Happy holidays!
Great sharing on the Family late Lunch Christmas, great to know people bring foods from their homes to share..yes indeed Christmas is a sharing time.. People should learn this tradition on Carrebean. So nice to know you can trust everyone no stealing .. people love each other all neighbors seem to know each others🌲❤🎉👌
Ms Trudy, I ain't had a bajan Christmas in years and, I so enjoyed this. Bless up. 246🇧🇧
Wow Barbados people are very loving and kind, I like the love they extend to you guys .
That’s the way Caribbean people are very friendly
So true!
LOL Wode Maya silly. Thank you Miss Trudy and Wode Maya for cool content. Her amazing accent reminds be of Rihanna.
With those type of wall you can see the beauty of the house unlike having a compound that you don't generally get to see the full beauty of the house and garden.
Yes. It’s time to connect the dots. A 4-5 hour direct flight to Africa from the Caribbean. The route needs to be changed to benefit our people.
Currently you have to go to US or the UK to connect to Africa.
Thanks for sharing 🙏🏾♥️
I know! Right?! Very unfortunate! I hope that changes…
Everywhere they is black family we always feel at home.
Hell yeah! 😅
I have been following you guys for sometime (Wode while he was in China) little did I know I was going to meet the two celebrities when dropping off a friend at Sam Lords Wyndham Hotels; such a wonderful couple. Hope your stay is restful; safe journey back home
Omg! It was so nice to meet you! ❤❤❤
I am trying to decide which video to watch first . Wodemaya or yours . Will toss a coin ❤❤❤
Hahahaha that's funny
I watched Wodemayas own first and now watching Miss trudy.
Both! 😅
I tossed my coin and I started with my baby girl 😂😂😂❤
@@MissTrudyy it’s a pleasure watching you guys I wish you and husband Maya god richest blessings. Happy new year hun when it comes 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🫶🏾💖💖,🇯🇲watching from 🇬🇧 👏🏽
I am having so much fun with you guys in my country. You use cheese on bread in really strong circumstances, like when something is outrageous. I have never smiled and laughed:so much watching your videos this was so real and authentic.
Am so glad I put a smile on your face! 😅
I like how Ms Trudy responds to most if not all the comments. Don't know how she is able to do it but it's so respectful of her. Kudos to her
Trudy why don't you and Wode travel together more often? It was great seeing you two together for the holidays
awwwwwww, you are so sweet! ❤
❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉the honest truth
Yes ackee and saltfish is our national dish in Jamaica. One of the few places you’ll find people eating ackee. We love it!
Can’t wait to try it…
Love you guys, this family is blessed, the caribbean hospitality, we love our African families ❤
Awwwwww! Me too! 😍
I am delighted to see your content Trudy & Wodemaya. The Rwanda & Barbados government are working on laying the foundation to get direct flights out of Africa to the Caribbean. Barbados has the 3rd oldest Parliamentary Democracy in the Western Hemisphere, the Oldest Jewish Synagogue in North , Central, or South America. The famous buccaneer pirate who later became a plantation owner and Lieutenant Governor of the islands of Jamaica was a runaway indentured servant from the plantation owner in Barbados before he became a pirate of the high seas in and around Jamaica. His name is Sir Henry Morgan. The Draxhall plantation was transported to Draxhall in Jamaica and the first 7 governor of the Carolinas, particular South Carolina, were Barbadian plantation owners. The Balls & Middleton Plantations in the USA imported a lot of slave from the Balls & Middleton Plantations in Barbados. The slave that came out of Africa. The St. James, Goose Creek monument of South Carolina is testimony to some of that history in Charleston South Carolina. St. James is one of the parishes of Barbados. Finally the 19 year old George Washington stayed in Barbados in 1751 when one of his family member was sick. It is the only country outside of the USA that George Washington ever visited. While staying in Barbados at the now called George Washington house over by the Garrison Savanah, he became sick and built-up an immunity to the disease & observed the operation of the British troops in Barbados. With this immunity & knowledge George Washington went on to fight the revolutionary war against the British and later became the 1st President of The United States of America ❤❤❤❤❤❤ So the USA have to thank Barbados for Washington immunity when his troops were getting sick, and the knowledge he gain of the importance of Barbados and the British interest in the Caribbean when they sent about 65 % of their troops to defend their interests in the Caribbean and remainder fought against George Washington and the American forces. Enjoy yourself in my island Barbados even if I live in NYC. Hope this gave you more of the links between Africa, Barbados, Jamaica, and the Carolinas (North & South) in the USA.
This is some great information that I had no idea about! Thanks for sharing… I have taken a screenshot, I will use it.
You are welcome 🙏
Ohh wow I love Barbados already, people are so loving and the country is beautiful.
So, I'm thinking "cheese on bread" is just another way of saying "goodness gracious" or "gee whiz," right?
Yes! Cheese 🧀 on Bread 🍞 is often used to declare surprise at receiving shocking news 😮, express frustration at an incident or a funny joke 😃.
For example, if I drop a glass cup and it breaks. "Steups! Cheese on Bread!!!"
Also, of you admite the way a dress 👗 or outfit fits your body and shows your curves, you can shorten it and say, "Cheese onnnn!" 🧀 LOL! Even just saying "Cheeezzz!" 😆 Bajans are 😁😂
I want to take a moment to appreciate Miss Barbados, the Lady in red. 17:43
Cheese on bread! She’s simply the best! 😀🙌🏼
Good to see you guys having a good time in Barbados.
Its a Beautiful island.
I know, right? 😊
That was a Caribbean Christmas , celebrating with friends and family
So beautiful
So beautiful indeed sis
Hope one day you get to visit all the Caribbean countries, cause all of them has African History, especially St Lucia
Omg! So many people are talking about st Lusia … now I wanna go! 😅
We have had direct flights bringing nurses to work in barbados and I think the plane took 6-7 hours. This was in the news earlier this year It was a little less than it takes to go to London from Barbados which is 8 hours. Our ministry of tourism has be negotiating with different African countries to secure a direct link to the mother land rather that travelers going to connect in UK or American ( wasting time 😂). Hopefully it will come to be one day soon
Why is it taking so long?
I know! Right? I hope this actually happens…
@@user-jy4np7nw1n I wish it were as soon as last year. Lolol. But these things take time for negotiations and policies and all that to satisfy both parties. Maybe the minister of tourism will see this video and speed things up. I am among the eager. 👍🏾we just started a nonstop flight from
Grand Cayman to Barbados cutting out the Miami transit so who knows Africa may be next. Can’t wait.
The issue is at the African countries end
This made me really love Barbados and bajans the more such a cool and sweet people❤️❤️
Thanks, Miss Trudy, for this lovely video. I am a Bajan living in Canada, and I watched with a. huge smile. I can see that you and Wode had an enjoyable time in Barbados. I subscribe to both of your vlogs, and I enjoy them both. Ghana is on my bucket list for a trip. Enjoy the remainder of your travels throughout the Caribbean. A happy, safe, and blessed 2024 to you both.
You are so kind! And your country is so beautiful! 😀
Your country is now top on my bucket list
I'm a Bajan living in Canada as well and I too was watching with a huge smile. I actually used to live in that neighborhood and enjoyed walking to the cliff and just watching the ocean
To follow up on my previous comment, we also celebrate "9 Mornings" which is a daily celebration for the nine days leading up to Christmas. The main city, Kingstown is usually filled with early morning celebrations to honor the Christmas spirit. Many other smaller towns/communities might also have their own celebrations. Please visit St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
35:54 the young lady sounds very good 🙌🏽. High Hopes for her future.
Cheese on bread, glad you're experiencing the real Bajan/Barbadian culture and hospitality.
Most definitely!
Tobacco, Cotton and Indigo was grown in Barbados before sugar Cane.
Great Hospitality and luv in the festive season - luv u all in Barbados!!!🦓🦜🐦🐧🦉🪴🍀
Love you more ❤
IN America we do that too...come to friends/family gathering bringing food to share.
And America, especially black America, is in all likelihood where it came from. Mot likely brought back by US returnees. Many American customs are being adopted in Barbados and in the wider Caribbean. I left Barbados more than 50 years ago and never knew or heard anything about pot lucks. I was surprised to hear that they are even having wakes for the dead which to me would have been considered blasphemous in the old days for combining food and celebration with funerals. In deed, some island(Trinidad and the Bahamas) did celebrate with wakes but definitely not Barbados. Just would not, could not, do it - unthinkable, you would be spoken about very badly for such disrespect to the dead.(at that time). Cheese-on bread.
@@randyg4571Yes when i heard of the pot luck in Bim, i said that's an American tradition the Bajans copied.😊 But i wouldn't say its black, because its a American thing, regardless of color.
Things evolve as times go on. Personally as a child in Barbados 🇧🇧 I saw the women cooking particular dishes especially if the person made that delicacy well for family get together and picnics on the East Coast of Barbados 🇧🇧 when that was a popular tradition.
Barbados is one of the most beautiful in the caribbean for sure, along with St. Lucia.
They are all beautiful😊.
So beautiful
Love love love Barbados and the people.
Me too! 😀
@misstrudyy, do you know Barbados was one of the first countries to move to have sanctions against apartheid South Africa and military planes from Cuba taking troops to fight refueled in Barbados.
That beach looks so beautiful. The watet pure blue . Barbados is onw n my bucket list for a vacation. Thanks fpr sharing.
Nice video Mrs. Trudy i am glad that you're having fun in Barbados..
All it takes is a Smile and Hello. When I visit my beautiful Barbados 🇧🇧. I meet so many people from everywhere at the beach.
I just love this place
This pple have smooth skin
Depending on your landscape you can have three stories including a walk out basement.
Hi Trudy. Coming together for meals is done throughout the Caribbean. We are kind and love to share.
I am from the British Virgin Islands and we do the same things.
Interesting! I need to visit that place
Glad you're having fun in my country 🇧🇧🇧🇧
I totally am! 😅
Quite enjoyable Christmas in the Caribbean! Was really surprised that no one mentioned or brought up the fact that this is Rhianna home country…👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💕🙏🏽
That girl in the red dress is gorgeous ❤
Your content never disappoints Trudy👌! Thanks for showing us Barbados. The 'low walls and no gates' reminds me of Tudor and Kizingo neighbourhoods of Mombasa (Kenya) in the 80s and 90s. I don't know if anyone here is my age to relate. My parents place had a low chainlink fence and the gate was never closed. The economy was good so that there was no threat of theft and all neighbours knew each other. How I miss that🥺
I don't know how old you are but I agree. My late aunty used to live there and her daughter still does.
Oh! Wow! You mean Kenya was once like this?
@@MissTrudyy Oh yes. I passed by my old home in August to show my kids, but there was a high wall and a big sealed black gate so we couldn't even see the house🙁. By the way @MissTrudyy , if you're still in Barbados, you should check on our very own Kenyan Prof Akombo at the University of the West Indies (also the first Dean in one of their new faculties).🙂
Love this video. Thank you so much Trudy.
Hope you get to see the pink sand beaches on the south coast ast while in Barbacos, it's so beautiful and the water feels like a perfectly warm bath. I visited many years ago and had a wonderful time. I went to Harrison caves, the zoo, and did a tour of the entire island in one day. It's truly one of the beautiful Caribbean islands.
I also visited the Harrison caves! 😀
@@MissTrudyy did you enjoy the little train ride through the caves?
Mrs Trudy, you are truly a sweetheart .🎉
A GOOD ONE ❤❤ THE BOND WAS TOP NOTCH 👌👌

That lady is very beautiful and articulate, Miss Trudy
I love the family atmosphere and the opened arms welcome you received from a typical of Bajans, they showed hospitality which is normal -:very friendly. Happy New year to that family who made your Christmas and welcomed into their home, so as to allow you to see a typical Bajan's family life and tradition at Christmas.
So heart warming to see my people open their home to you and your husband. Ms Trudy you've learned a Bajan expression "cheese don bread" said in dialect . The proper English is "cheese on bread". So say it in dialect, you'll sound more authentic.
I just learned something new! Thanks!
I am so happy that miss trudy is happy on our island Barbados,we love you enjoy your lunch you and your husband wada mayo,i hope i spell his name right love you both,if i knew you were in queens park i would have come and see you both,i hope it will not be your last visit ,you are wellcome any time time, love you both❤😊

Beautiful Barbados and beautiful vibrant Africans we love you all up here
Yes, Ms. Trudy go to all the islands before you make a decision about which is the most beautiful island.😊
Trudy you are so funny, the lady on the beach said the beach is called harry smith beach (or something similar). Lol not my private beach. Great video welcome to the Caribbean.
Such a fun vlog! So glad you and Maya and enjoying.
It totally was! Thanks for watching! 😊
Fences in the Caribbean is mostly to protect property boundaries not for security.
While on the beach the shell of the house I see above is most likely Harry Smith House, the land around was owned by a Harry Smith that is why the area is called by his name but the beach is is called Bottom Bay. I have been inside the house, I like it, just imagine what it used to be like. Wish I had the money to buy it.
Haven't heard that slang cheese & bread since i left Barbados many yrs ago " my sister was always using that slang she still lives there
