  • How works an industrial sewing machine clutch motor. Recommendations for adjusting the clutch motor see also on my website.
    Which motor is used in sewing machine? What is the difference between clutch motor and servo motor? How does a clutch motor work? You will learn the answers to these questions in this video.
    All modern household sewing machines have an electric motor drive. Home sewing machines and industrial sewing machine models have different types of electric motor drives.
    Industrial sewing machines have a special sewing machine drive. All of them are equipped with a clutch motor at which a sewing machine is able to work 24 hours a day without interruption and at a high speed.
    In this video you will learn how works such electric drive and then it differs from another types of sewing machine motors.
    Industrial sewing machine clutch motor works continuously after turning on the electricity. Clutch motor of industrial sewing machine has a friction device which regulates speed of rotation of sheave. The more tightly the clutch wheel to the motor clutch disc is pressed, the more is speed of rotation of sewing machine.
    Frictional device has and another feature. After removing your leg from pedal platform is full stopping of sewing machine.
    Servo motors don’t run unless you engage the pedal. They work almost silently. They make no noise whatsoever unless you decide to use them. They are different from clutch motors that will give that humming noise all the time, whether you are using the machine or not.
    Servo motors are more user-friendly for using them home. You can control the speed of the motor and start slow. A servo motor is usually light and easy to install. It also consumes less energy than a traditional clutch motor.

    Do you have any advice on how to slowdown the machine without changing the pulley or motor?

    • @sewway

      A very strange question.
      Do not press hard on the pedal. As a last resort, make a limiter

    I'm not a tailor but I need this for engineering. It's white in colour so I'm assuming this is the electrical machine right?
    Is this basically the same setup principle for the manual foot pedal machine. You apply enough continuous downward force on the pedal and it would cause a rapid steady rotation??

    • @sewway
      @sewway  Před rokem

      Yes, an electric motor. By pressing the pedal, you compress the clutch disc and the engine disc together. The tighter they are pressed against each other, the higher the speed of rotation of the motor palley.

    Very difficult on machine to control speed, slowly push down, sometime run away speed, other times I can just get it right.. what does the bolt for adjusting position of brake do? At 1:20 of video.

    • @sewway
      @sewway  Před rokem +1

      When you take your foot off the pedal, the brake pads clamp the pulley and the machine doesn't sew, although the engine is running.

    My motor started giving noise (like screwing with electric drill) when the pedal is released (un-pressed). Could you please tell me the reason? It was running fine for the last 15 years.

    • @sewway
      @sewway  Před 3 lety

      There can be many reasons, most likely the bearing is worn out. But the main reason is age

    • @sewway

      For a 220 volt network, a three-core wire is used. Phase, zero and ground. But it is better to turn to an electrician for advice.
