I remember the first time I heard this song. I was just trying out the game for the first time, not sure if I liked it or not. Then this song started playing during my first battle, and I *instantly* fell in love with the game.
My battles usually don't last that long. But the starting just powers up the whole thing. But you're right, it is good at that point that you've mentioned when it lasts that long - the battle - then I feel a total badass mostly and I reign supreme.
My wife is Kenyan and she says Usain Bolt actually has a congenital medical condition that renders him too slow to participate in Kenyan society, so they got him a job winning gold medals so he wouldn't feel so bad about having to actually drive a car to get anywhere on time in Nairobi. Everyone else just OMAE WA SHINDERU DES's around everywhere otherwise.
This is amazingly good. It carries the chaos of battle with its desperation, tension, and determination. I've found very few pieces of music that do this well. A key part (which this is lacking a *bit* of in comparison to others below) is multiple layers of music, so it sounds like there are multiple things occurring simultaneously, while also not becoming a mess of noise. You can distinguish different "layers," and it still sounds good as a whole. Some of the others I know are The Thresher from the Dusk ost; some pieces of the Angels Fall First game's ost (not the song, band, album, or whatever "Angels Fall First"); some pieces of the Star Conflict ost (some pieces are REALLY good, even if they don't all fit the type of music I'm talking about here), especially the Special Operations (aka raid boss) music (I don't think this one is very good for listening to by itself, but it fits the theme I'm talking about very well, and pairs with "combat" scenes); and Event Horizon by Niklas Johansson AND/OR FormantiX (sources are conflicting or unclear). The ost of Nebulous: Fleet Command is perfect for that game, but I don't know if it really carries the chaos aspect of other types of battles. If anyone who reads this (likely no one) knows any other pieces of music that carry the feeling of "organized/directed chaos" *by themselves* in addition to scripted or game combat (especially like The Thresher, or Event Horizon), PLEASE let me know of them. Pieces of music like that seem to be *very* rare. Maybe I just don't know the correct terminology to search for it with, that excludes all other "combat/battle music" that doesn't fit the specific theme. If you know what keywords to use, please also let me know of those too.
I listened to The Thresher piece, and if I'm understanding what you mean you may like Town in Chaos from Darkest Dungeon OST. The rest of the soundtrack is good too and similar (Return to the Warrens, Cove Battle etc).
Reminds me of... some robot tracks from either the original Space Rangers soundtrack by Gregoriy Semenov or A War Apart reboot soundtrack by NiKiNiT, with the intensity and creativity of Kirill Pokrovsky's Dance of Death from Divinity: Original Sin.
Best track IMO. I miss being able to customize what tracks you can hear like in the original AOW. Back then it was pretty much Battle Macabre for me haha.
i cannot recommend listening to this at 2 am since it motivates you to play the game ..... which results in me writing this at 4 am

ENEMY COMMANDER DEFEATED.
UNIT LOST
ENEMY ANIHILATED
OPERATIONS READY FOR PRIMING
That moment when three full stacks of troops is assaulting your city and this music plays.
They didn't stand a chance.
OUR FORCES ARE VICTORIOUS
DAMN IT!!!
Great theme, always powers me up.
Just had a big battle at a spacer dwelling that started with this music! Good hype theme!
I hear this often when I use vanguard purifiers against spacers.
Its hot in the battles too ^-^
The sort of song that gets you through an 18 v 18 battle with 0 casualties
Shockingly good!
This track is amazing!
This is the best of all battle songs, that are in the game. The first minute is the best of the whole track.
My favorite part starts at 3:19
@@0promo Same, that part onwards makes me feel like I'm in some awesome sci-fi action movie lol

finaly found the theme!
There is something about this song that just makes me want to push forward no matter the cost
3:30 onwards is the best part ; feels like you are racing against Usain bolt

I did the same in the first AOW ! Battle macabre was the best for tactical combat
this is my all time favorite song in AOW: PF
Playing the game for a lot of hours, this is the only track that truly stands out...
The battle theme music where you get hype in beating up aliens and transhumans.
Makes great 40k battle music when i'm tabling someone
Retro vibes?
Had this playing during one of my livestreams playing this game. It plays usually in battle mode.
this music reminds me mega turrican
Who created this song?
Tonechild
Michiel van den Bos is the composer
The game sucks and the battle music is trash except for this one track.
Game is hella fun and the music goes from dreamy to hella hard like this track
