Such an underrated episode. I don't know why people dump on it, this is one of my favorites.
Yeah, and most people like Projected Man which is just as funny, and personally I think The Deadly Bees might 'bee' a bit better overall, (I do change some of the rankings once in a while and those two have been getting closer). Mike, Kevin, and Bill's British accents are all hilarious as well.
@@wileyschmitt I think it's just a massive bummer overall. Like, it's all brown and dull orange, everyone dies, and the characters are weird garbage. That and like, nothing happens except bees. It's really just a stiff, ugly movie. Not Starfighters or Red Zone Cuba stiff, but...pretty stiff.
Yeah that's all true about the movie itself, but as far as whether the MST3K episode is good or not is mostly based on the writing and delivery of the jokes (at least as far as my rankings go).

As an Englishwoman this made me laugh. However pubs had very strict opening hours in England back then, it was a hangover (pun intended) from WW1 when the govt wanted the munitions workers to be sober for obvious reasons. The licensing laws brought in then were still in operation until the 1990s. Some people claim this to be the source of binge-drinking culture in the UK.
MST3K can teach you history. I looked up Joe Orton, who was mentioned at 14:14. He was an English author who was murdered by his boyfriend/roommate in 1967.

This movie is so dull they filled it with scream edits to wake up the audience. Also, why do British movies have such loud phones.
It did well at the box office thanks to word-of-mouth that there was a prolonged brassiere scene, though. Can't help with the phones.

Suzanna Leigh (Vicki but why) died two years ago. I personally think she got more attractive in her 30s and 40s. She was the God Daughter of Vivian Leigh (Gone with the Wind) and used her name in her acting career. She was also in Lost Continent (another MST riffed borefest).
That part of her being attractive sure was necessary.
