  • Leather craftsman Gerry Gallagher has over 30 years of experience repairing luxury handbags and is the owner of Leather Surgeons in Philadelphia. He shows us how he restores a burned Chanel Jumbo Classic Flap Bag. This includes disassembling the bag, cleaning it, cutting out the burned leather, quilting a new piece of caviar leather, replacing the lining entirely, and reassembling the bag.

Wow! It’s a good thing that light was up against such a high quality bag or it could have burned down the house. Hoping the contractor is paying for the restoration plus smoke damage.

Right! I would’ve sued the company to be honest. They ruined an $8,000 bag (thankful she knew such a fantastic restoration company), and nearly burned down her home. I can’t even imagine if the bag hadn’t been there. Could’ve destroyed the whole house.
