So much great food (and coffee!)
We still remember our first time trying Jollibee in the airport in Cebu, they had Strawberry fries and we genuinely thought the rice was a burger with the way it was wrapped. Your reactions to Jollibee were similar to us, broke my tongue! 😂
Hahaha Jollibee is a unique experience indeed. I have never heard of Strawberry fries before, it sounds like something that can break a tongue as well 😜
the bigger battered egg is used to be called "Tokneneng" if I remembered it correctly.
Wonderful. Thank you for this lovely video. Glad to see you guys again with Greg and Jumi. Nice explorations of d Filipino food.
It was fantastic! Thanks Yasin, hope you are doing well. Always happy to see your comments!
@@TravelInteresante Thank you. I hope you guys are doing fine as well. Nice to watch your video. 😄
The smaller ones which are the quail eggs is called Kwek-kwek, and the bigger ones which are the Chicken or Duck eggs are called Tokneneng. 😋😋😋
Never had an experience trying egg as a part of a street food tour, it was so cool!
Those you ate, like the sticky rice called Biko and the one which is colored purple is also made of sticky rice flour, you didn't enjoyed it much because you ate it wrong, it should have grated coconut or latek a caramelized coconut milk!😋😋😋
Ohhhh interesting. Well Jumi should have told us! Haha I'll blame her 😅 hopefully next time then! ♥️
I have missed your content so much. I was nervous you guys retired. This is the ultimate collab of 2 of my favorite couples! Steve is pretty brave trying different things.
The fried bananas are so good. Filipino food is super sweet! I’m impressed with Gokce’s Tagalog. And her excitement made the video. Filipino Breakfast is the best. Gotta try the Balot! Love Love this video. Missed you guys.
We won't retire anytime soon, promise! Thanks so much for being such an amazing support system!
Steve was too brave indeed, I'm just not a big egg person haha. I am trying to speak but of course it's not easy, hopefully I can learn more! Miss you so much as well! ♥️
What an honor to be there with Greg and Jumi! Couldn't imagine better way to go around and try the best food in the Philippines!
The Ube looks so beautiful, I agree with you Gokce, not sure I would eat it lol, I want to put it in my pocket
It is hard to beat the flavor of the banana, we need to try that one.
We wish you were there with us too! Hopefully we can get together soon and try some delicious cuisine options altogether. Ube is amazing and anything made with banana is simply delicious 😋

Barako coffee is actually become a coffee variety on its own like robusta or arabica.
That's awesome. I had no idea that coffee was a big thing in Philippines
I love leftover rice dishes. They do that in Colombia as well
Everything looks delish 🤤
You guys finished it all
I always wanted to try balut, every time we went to try it in NYC, they were always sold out.
Lieles is saying he's not doing that 😅
We were so happy when they opened Jollibee in woodside. It's good
I can never try Balut as I don't eat eggs in general but I admire anyone enjoying it. When you are back in New York we should go to Jollibee together 😉
It’s really nice to see different foods from different cultures!
Thanks for sharing these unique dishes!
❤️❤️
We love trying different types of food and we are lucky to get to do so! Thanks for watching and much love ❤️
If it's suman then it should be cooked wrapped in banana leaf or coconut leaves. The cake like sweet sticky rice is called " bico".
May i add that.
its called " tokneneng " its basically duck eggs(sometimes chicken)..
The small one is kwek-kwek..quail eggs
I am Asian , welcome to travel in Asian countries , Tokyo Japan , Seoul Korea , Shanghai China , Hong Kong , Taipei Taiwan , Manila Philippines , Bangkok Thailand , Kuala Lumpur Malaysia , Singapore , Jakarta Indonesia
Warching this video made me really hungry! 😢
New subscriber from the Philippines.
Thank you for coming. I wish you a wonderful time in my beautiful Country.
Thanks so much and welcome to our journey! We love the Philippines and it's delicious food!
Banana-Q is really good. Filipinos love it. You can have it a snack or a desert. Most vendors start preparing at 2PM and they are ready to sell from 3PM to 5PM. The banana-q vendor near where I live almost always sell out.
That bananas you take, only grows in the Philippines and it's called the Saba or Sabah! ☺️😋😋

In Manila the smaller version with quail eggs is called tokneneng and not kwek kwek
never knew about kwek kwek as a child coz we never eat that in my province. we eat fresh from the farm, sea and freshly butchered pig, cow or goat.
Very interesting. Sounds like different provinces have different food options as well.
May Allah SWT bless you and your family from Pakistan 🙂🇵🇰🇹🇷🥰😍🥰. Best regards from Pakistan 🙂🇵🇰🇹🇷🥰😍🥰.
So nice you did enjoy eating..
Btw, bigger egg is called tokneneg (if I'm not mistaken) while quail eggs are called kwek-kwek.
It is just an egg, no need to SENSATIONALIZE it. Its egg with FOOD color. Even the poorest countries in Africa will not brag about a fried egg as a street food item.
Great food and coffee especially Jollibee a Filipino fast food chain
Come to visit my hometown Davao and don't forget to visit Davao Night Market
Buchi is like mochi balls but deep fried. The banana que is made from bananas similar to plantains, not the bananas you see in the grocery.
Philippine Coffee is fast becoming a sought after coffee globally especially the very strong, rich, espresso-style coffee
It's good you have a Filipino local so you won't get scammed by other greedy Filipinos. Most likely some of them will take advantage if this is your first time. Price wise.
All Filipinos were friendly and nice but of course going around with a local is always the best!
That is another kind of banana called plantain mostly available in a Tropical country like Philippines
Buchi is usually filled with sweet red beans
Ooo we didn't know that. It must taste pretty good with red beans 🫘
Sweet Red Beans in Chinese Restaurants. Most Filipinos do not like beans on dessert.
Great honest reviews! I agree on most except for Jollibee. I’m not a fan of Jollibee.
My mum usually cook rice more at night to make sure we will have friedrice the next morning.
@@TravelInteresante garlice friedrice to be exact and i love it! #RiceIsLife 😊
as a beginer for balut you should have requested a 16 day old so the duck embreyo is just small
Rice is a good carbs, its eaten in the whole of asia and the middle east and we are a little healthier.
Not all fried rice is left over some of the restaurant makes fried rice base on there menu.
Used fork to filter seeds but still ends up on top of the pancit 😅
The difference between that two eggs are. DUCK EGG is Kwek-Kwek while the small one is QUAIL EGG is TOKNENENG most of the people says that Duck and Qual eggs are both called Kwek-Kwek no it is different calling it has theu're own identity
big qwekqwek should be duck boild egg fo good quality. if chicken egg not og.
😉👌❤️🇵🇭
@@TravelInteresante Thank you guys for visiting the philippines enjoy your days and have fun.. 😉👌🇵🇭❤️
Try not to eat the white part of the balut because it is hard to digest.
The local guide keeps on saying rice, she should be more specific to it. It's should be glutinous rice, and the first street food they ate are just regular eggs but tradittionally it is quail eggs.
All good, we had a great time with our street food tour regardless! Thanks for watching 🤗
Let your pilipina friend do the it for you cuz she know how to eat it properly
if there is something you do?t like to us and our food get out.
We love the Philippines and its delicious food options! Thanks for watching ☺️
Sapin sapin in Manila is way different. I think the local lady ought to say that what you have are native Traditional sweets in Cebu to distinguish it from other regional delicacies. Cebuano dishes are way overrated and confusing at the same time to the point that its disappointing. Sorry but needs to be honest
Appreciate you sharing, we are still learning! There's so much delicious food to try it's hard to keep up haha thanks for watching ♥️
Pinoy style and western style are not well hahaha im bisaya from mindanao
Your first item is the Kwek Kwek, which is basically trash on a stick. A street food invented to just train the masses to accept a life of destitution. That little BALL OF FOOD Color is not cultural. The name alone, Kwek Kwek is a PARODY of Filipino food culture. But only 2% of Filipinos understand this fact.
Interesting. Either way it was a cool experience and we loved the taste! Thanks for watching ☺️
@@TravelInteresante id keep my little lecture to a minimal. Just be careful with street food in urban areas, if cholera were to have a color, it must be orange.
We really enjoyed trying some UNIQUE and DELICIOUS Filipino snacks, big thanks to Greg and Jumi for showing us the local side of Boracay and trying out some great food!
Try to visit Siargao
Cebu not sebu.
We would love that!
Woops! 😅
@@TravelInteresante Try to ask locals for pronunciation, your butchering the name of the place either, it's so weird to heard.
